New FreeIndex Widget - Update your website code now

Dear Members.
We have just launched a brand new customisable website widget which replaces all of the previous widgets we have had in the past. You'll need to replace any previous gadget code you've used in the past with the new code.
Please click here to get / update your code now.
This widget allows you to display a live feed of your FreeIndex reviews / rating information on your own website (if you have one). The new widget not only looks more professional, but can be customised to your specification in terms of size and content. You can specify the width, number of reviews displayed, ratings, awards and rankings as required.
We were finding it very hard to control the old widgets on the vast array of websites on which they were placed, and often found that we could not guarantee they would look right on everybody's site, in every browser. This new widget makes it much easier for us to manage.
All members should update their FreeIndex website widget code now, as we are aiming to turn off the old widgets as soon as possible.
If you are having problems displaying the widget, please post a comment below, making sure you provide a link to the page where you have embedded the widget. As always, comments / suggestions are welcome.
Update : 23rd April 2013
Thanks for your feedback. We've now fixed the problem with jQuery and we've added an option for you to change the text size of the reviews. There are also some set examples which show you what can be done with the widget.
Best regards,
The FreeIndex Team

Can we have a widget for business face book pages please.
I don't really understand entirely 'what' this is about, and how to add this to my website please?
If FreeIndex or anyone can assist... please email me on: seanwhite06@aol.com

this works on moblie app but not on pc
And the overwhelming request from FreeIndex' customers below is to be able to change the colour. But it's obvious this is now NOT going to change back when their response to us was [see below]: "The reason why we have updated to this widget is because we found loads of sites on which our previous gadgets either looked terrible due to overridden CSS rules, or in some cases did not work at all." -- even though the majority here want it, looks like the decision to ignore us all has already been made.
I also agree. I would like to be able to change the colours to match my branding and remove the thumb nail images of the people to make the testimonial a little bigger and more readable. It looks great though! Well done!
I strongly agree with all the comments below about the need to be able to change the colours in the new gadget.
My FreeIndex reviews are presently displayed on both my homepage (alongside Twitter's recently revamped and now very understated and classy feed) and also on a dedicated Clients & Feedback page. I promote FreeIndex heavily to my clients and am presently the top rated UK Caricaturist with 107 reviews. However the new FreeIndex gadget with it's serif fonts, heavy lines and green theme would clash with the predominantly magenta styling of my professionally designed website.
The new gadget needs to be sensitive not only to the space available on a customers website but also the appearance and style of its pages. In its proposed format the new gadget design is too inflexible and also frankly looks rather clunky and dated.
Please allow the fonts, colours and the thickness of the bounding box to be altered - or at least set to a neutral grey (as in the styling of the My FreeIndex part of your site).
FreeIndex's great strength is in the independence of it's reviews. That's why it is so successful. Please leave your customers free to style and incorporate the new gadget as widely as possible.
Many thanks
Mark
Doesn't work on my site at all I'm afraid; the old one fit nicely above a framed text window; I need a narrow/wide banner type, not a column.. is there any way you would reconsider/change the new widget so it can be made wide and short, not just 'different widths of tall!?'
Is there a way I can adapt the new widget to look more in style with my website? The old widget is great for that but the new one is quite ugly I'm afraid!
Hi freeindex,I sent the new widget code to my web guys and this was there response can you assist please.
quote: I've added the new code for freeindex, the problem with this is that isn't not in the same format as before, see attached. http://www.powerflushinghull.co.uk/contact-us,i clearly cannot leave it like this please advise. unquote:)
has anyone else had this issue thanks people
regards graham
All changed and amended on my sites. Perfect. Now works well in all browsers at long last.
I'll have to have a go at this. Didn't have one on my site up to now.
I will be updating my website soon. Thank you
Thank you I will let my web designer know!
for those of us who are not all that computer literate a step by step help sheet as to how the implement this feature would be very useful.
all the best
John
thank you this is brilliant x
May we also add our voice to ask for the re-implementation of the colour background / text change option too. The grassy green FreeIndex house-style wouldn't sit well within our own website's house-style; if you look at the elegant way we've implemented it [the existing widget] to every page on our website it has helped us establish our top reputation (and currently 3rd place and climbing out of 4500 printing companies) by actively showing our objective, hard-earned customer Reviews to other customers, new and old.
We've gained a lot of good business from it by people reading pre-purchase what others have thought of working with us, in a sector that is notorious for poor service, so it is important to us to continue that great profile and implementation of it.
Would appreciate you re-evaluating your decision to omit the option. Many thanks.
Can we also add we think you're completely wasting your time adding in the person's silhouette on the right (what is the point of that?). Remember that it's Joe Public that will be filling in most of the reviews for all of us, and they sure as heck aren't going to spend time setting up a Google style profile just to give us a quick review. You really need to think this all out better guys.
We think this widget update is more about increasing FREEINDEX's brand out there (on our websites) and profile than helping us, YOUR paying customers out. Backward step.
Hi Trade Printing, many people signup to FreeIndex using Facebook, Google, Yahoo or others and therefore we can automatically get and display their avatar.
The reason why we have updated to this widget is because we found loads of sites on which our previous gadgets either looked terrible due to overridden CSS rules, or in some cases did not work at all. This new widget works much more reliably and is easier for us to control.
Fair enough. Thanks for clarifying.
Not bad, but we don't like losing the individual 5 out of 5 stars beside each review (we use a 680 pixel width box and have then changed the code ourselves to match our own TradePrintingUK.com website. Would like to see the stars option back please.
Hi There. We have now added the stars for each review back in. Thanks very much for your feedback.
That's looks much better as a quicker communication summary for readers before they begin. Thanks.
Im unable to add this gadget to my web page.. Im using googlesites, the only way is through iframe gadget..
Any news on the possibility of colour changes ad there seem to be a few people asking about it, myself included?
David / Paul.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention. We've sorted that now so that clicks from the gadget leave your page open.
Just can't see where I'm going to fit the new gadget within the html on my website. http://www.express-property.co.uk/
Aha! I've solved it. Just adding it on to the bottom of most of the pages on our site. (I must get round to organising a brand new site - the current one is about 10 years old now!)
As I do not have a separate website, perhaps I do not need the updated widget? Phil.
Is there any possibility that there can be an option to set the colours for the widget as there used to be in the older versions? my website is red/black/white, and the green clashes quite horrendously!
Any possibility your developer can set this up to open in a new tab, instead of closing our websites? I would definitely put it on my site if that was the case.
This has been done. Thanks for your feedback.
It all sounds really productive
do I need this code if I don't have a another web site
Andy
Hi Steve.
The new gadget does not have to be thin! Simply set the width to wide like 600px, and set the number of reviews to as many as you want. This will look much better than what you currently have.
Please remove the old Award gadget that you have on the site, and just tick the ranking / award option in the new gadget.
All done! Am really struggling to manage my content around it though, as this is very long and thin. Would have much preferred it to be landscape in format! Would you be able to offer that possibility please?
It can be as wide as you like. Simply set the width to the width you want.
It looks ok, apart from the choice to customize colours has been removed? why is this? the old gadget blended in nicely with my dark coloured website: http://www.mgdriving.co.uk/index.html
Can we not have the option to customize the colours?
Great new look and easy to post HTML onto site. Cheers
Needs different size's and One horizontal as well one choice is no good.
Hi there
The old one could be styled. It had thinner border, choice of colour for border, text colour choice, width more flexible.
This one stops at 400 px wide, stops at 20 reviews, no options for colour changes or styling. Thinner borders? or perhaps a choice of none? Can you offer any help to widening the box or styling it and the text within.?
Thanks

Can we have it lengthways not upright in a list? It doesnt fit in with my website layout this way. I would like it to be wider and longer rather than a long list - can we adjust it somewhow?
Try using the "Latest Reviews" example and give it a width of 800 with say 2 or 3 reviews displayed.
I do not know what this is, or what it does can you please explain in simple terms?
The FreeIndex widgets allow you to display a live feed of your FreeIndex reviews / rating information on your own website (if you have one). As above.

Is there anyway to increase the text size?
I much prefer the way my review page already looks on my website:

A real step backwards from the small widgets that used to be offered. I'm afraid I'll have to remove and hard code a replacement.
Very bad move!- fonts are so small that customers are not able to read what it says! It crushed my website as well, I'm not able to edit my page where this code is... what's happening?
The new box is interfering with a JQuery plugin I have. Is there a version which doesn't include this or a way it can be done in an iFrame?
Hi David. Thanks for letting us know about that. We've removed any calls to jQuery.
Using the code on our pages has caused our CMS to crash. Any suggestions?
Hi James.
I've seen that it's on your website. What was your CMS saying? Please
