About Quirky Claus

*Quirky Claus took some 4 years to complete, and is aimed primarily at children around the ages of:
4 - 8 years old.

Although this a Christmas title, numerous responses from parents, reporting that children have quite literally been reading the title, well past Easter and almost approaching summer. Other authors such as Joanne Harris, have viewed Quirky Claus and have even been as generous as to link with the site.

- Quirky Claus is a new alternative take on the traditional Christmas story. As the mischievous cousin of the rather better known Santa Claus, he resides with his sidekick, and not always, the most loyal of friends - Timothy the Toucan (A. K. A Timothy. Surname -Toucan) Quirky Claus through a series of quite 'unique' mis-adventures, he gets himself into one increasingly difficult predicament after another -as he attempts to deliver an array of unusual, incredibly bizarre but above all 'unexpected' Christmas presents to those children who might well of behaved - better.

Quirky Claus, has received positive and extensive reviews and been circulated in hundreds of libraries. Everywhere from Swansea to Northern Ireland, figures through libraries have been consistently healthy in regard to lending levels. PLR figures reflects surprisingly - this "Christmas" title has been borrowed 'every' single month of the year!

*My Next Novel - a comic fantasy: "The Tallest Dwarf." A tale of a dwarf who is banished from his clan. For of all things, actually being - too tall. For in saving his father’s life from a determined steed, mounted by a transvestite dwarf of the very notorious - Slightly Rainy Day Clan, (it rains 'far' too frequently in the highlands) – at that. He inadvertently forgets to use the noble, and the very much venerated, 'Battle Box of Fury, ' to stand on and elevate himself to the specified criteria, as elaborated on - in extensive detail within the pages of: 'The Good Dwarf's Essential Guide to The Bonking of Heads. As a Comprehensive Means to Winning the Affections of a Potential Mate and Influencing People. '.
As a result of his transgression and blatant flaunting of 'dwarf' tradition - he is consequently banished from his clan, before meeting: a chastened she-elf, a vegetarian ogre, a spoilt prince, and Blind Mad Jack - the 'Lumberjack. ' most decidedly - a poor career choice.

Who would you prefer to hang around with, Santa Claus or his cousin Quirky? The traditional Christmas Santa is all well and good but there's more fun to be had with Quirky and his side kick Timothy the Toucan. This book is highly recommended if you're ready for a new story with new ideas and new friends - all with beautiful illustrations to help the imagination embark on new adventures.

This vibrant picture book with its tongue-in-cheek words should delight children everywhere. Wonderfully illustrated, I liked the fact that its author gave the children some words and spellings to chew on - like "Knobbly gnomes" and "agitated armadillo" - while his main characters hurled their imaginations round the world and into outer space. I thought the questions at the end were a great idea as well. It's a book children will want to return to again and again, which will do their imaginations, vocabulary and spelling quite a lot of good, all at the same time!

This was a great little children's book. The story took the traditional take on Santa and did a brilliant, hilarious spin. As for the art, I was astounded. Beautiful and fun, it captured and enhanced the unique spirit of the book. Excellent!

I bought this for my son a while ago and started off by reading it to him. He can now read for himself and despite it being nowhere near the Xmas season he still finds the story very funny and often reads it to himself at bed time. The little quiz about the story at the back of the book is also a great idea. I look forward to the next Quirky Claus book.
