New profile page layout and new Premium search range feature (UPDATED)
Dear FreeIndex Members
You may have noticed that we have recently launched a new profile page layout on FreeIndex. The main aim of this is to present your business more professionally on the web.
Note: If your page looks funny, you will need to hit F5 to refresh your page. Or clear your browser cache.
The main changes are as follows:

Based on the feedback we have received and some additional design work we have completed, we have taken the decision to make some more adjustments to the recently launched profile page layout. On reflection, we found that without a left or right column (as mentioned above) we could not stop the information from looking messy.
We have moved the photos / videos right at the top of the page, and we have also made third party advertisements more discreet. We will be tracking the feedback over the next few weeks and based on that there may still be a few more small changes to come.
We hope that these changes will satisfy those that were not happy with the previous release. Please make sure you refresh your browser (F5) to see the new updates correctly.
New extended search range for Premium Members
A new valuable addition has been made to the Premium package. All Premium members now benefit from a 20 mile search radius around their location. E.g. whenever someone searches FreeIndex for a particular type of business, all matching Premium members within a 20 mile radius will be displayed, resulting in greater exposure and more enquiries.
Around 30,000 searches take place on FreeIndex every week.
Updated Mobile Version of FreeIndex
FreeIndex Mobile has been updated and improved due to the rising volume of traffic coming from mobile devices. We’ve concentrated on improving the mobile version of each business profile.
20% of our 1.5 million monthly visitors now come to the site using a mobile device, so it’s very important that these users can quickly and easily get the information they need.

Great job guys, But i think you need to make your review confirmation email more user friendly I have 6 reviews not activated because my customers don't understand fully
about a email coming back to them to click on a link .Most of them don't even know what (click on a link) means ! You need to make it more rookie proof, Were all missing out on important reviews because computer programming geeks ( and i know cos i am one) don't have any common sense. Thanx

I thought Premium members did not have Google and other adverts luring people away from our link but I notice that nothing has changed and if I seek tax investigation in Aberdeen all the usual Google ads come up on the same page (AND ABOVE MY Advert)

I thought the old layout was much better myself, I agree with comment below looks like a result from a search engine the last one did look like a proper web page. But I will see how it goes as alot of my enquiries come through freeindex from old style web page so I will see if they still do on this new one. time will tell.

I am not happy about the jump from one Google Ad Unit on our profile pages to three.
The Google Ads are colour coded to blend with our page so that visitors are actively being tricked into clicking away from our profile and this website.

Hi Jacqueline. I'm sorry, but there was always 3 ads on profile pages, this has not changed.
Obviously FreeIndex, provides a free service, and thus the ads are there to fund the site. You may optionally upgrade to FreeIndex Premium which has no ads, and a host of other great features which make Premium membership well worthwhile. This costs only 27p per day.

As a frequent user of free index i found the new look a little odd at first but its growing on me. I'm sure that once i become accustomed to it and discover the improvements it'll be better than the previous layout.
