New Filters on Location Pages - Is Your Listing Up to Date?
As you may have seen over on our Facebook and Twitter this week, we've added filters and sorting options when browsing location pages - such as Accountants in Brighton.
On these high traffic pages, users can now filter by category or trade body membership, as well as sort by rating, recent reviews or last update.
To make sure your business gets the benefit of these new features, now is a great time to:
Make sure your memberships are displayed
Being a member of a trade body shows your knowledge and competence in a field - and that's something to shout about. Head to the 'Memberships' section on your Dashboard to add memberships - your business will show up when a user filters by these.
Note: Only select the organisations of which you are a member. If you falsely claim to belong to an organisation, your business may be removed from the site.
Check your categories are still accurate
Do your categories still represent the services and products you offer in 2018? If not, you can edit your categories under the 'Categories & Tags' section on your Dashboard. This will display your business when a user looks for a more specific result, e.g. Payroll Accountants.
Focus on getting customer reviews
We recently discussed how important reviews are and some strategies for obtaining them (see Why Customer Reviews Are The Secret of Success). With filtering enabled, this continues to be of utmost importance.
If you have any problems with the above, we're always available via support.
On top of these updates, we've been working behind the scenes to improve FreeIndex's exposure more generally. Our recent changes have brought about a 20% increase in traffic just this last week. We will continue to improve the website over the coming months, so be sure to follow us on social media to keep up to date with what we're working on and to let us know your thoughts.
Best regards,
The FreeIndex Team

As usual you guys & girls are doing a great job. Me to, I am going into my 9 year with you & as usual hold the number one spot out of over 1000 compatriots in the U.K on freeIndex.
cheers P.J
You are exactly correct. Getting great leads from happy customers says a lot. I have noticed that our competitors are lacklustre at getting decent qualified comments and it does make a difference. But also, like everything else the products and the level of service to support those products in exceptional ways is one of the key differences we find in our very long experience.
There are some issues with Free Index that I would like to see which might not involve many companies but it seems to affect us. We have been with you for a very long time. We own many specialised domains. For example while our main domain is lrspagers.co.uk it is impossible to put everything on that domain because of sheer volume and some products are not LRS products. We have other sites like twowayradiosuk.co.uk that has been developed specifically sell professional radios to our clients. But it seems that FreeIndex does not like those links (even though they are https and registered and certified as Long Range Systems websites?) and that from what I see compared to some of FreeIndex competitors is a shortcoming. Just a comment that you might want to consider the implications for a company like us that has tens of websites specific to products we sell. In fact they are all really part of our company.
Thanks.
Hi Anthony, thanks for your comment. Forgive me if I've misunderstood, but I've taken the above to mean our website checker isn't working when you try to enter alternative URLs. Would you be able to contact us via support about this (with specific information on rejected URLs etc) so that we can look into it?
can i pleased be listed under tailors as well as clothing alterations.as i am a qualified tailor.
thank you
Elizabeth. I've added you to the Tailors category. You can edit your categories from your Dashboard > Categories & Tags.
