2018 Premium Listing Position

Dear FreeIndex Members - Happy new year.
We have made the decision that Premium Members will now feature above Non-Premium Members on all local listings pages and in local searches (in your primary category).
That is where a user has specified a location and a category. e.g. 'Norwich Plumbers'.
However everyone's 'Listing Position' for national pages e.g. 'plumbers' will not change and businesses will still be listed in review ranking order.
We have made this decision to ensure that we give our Premium Members more value for money, whilst retaining the integrity of our listings. This change is effective immediately. If you are considering
going Premium, there has never been a better time.
We wish you all the best for 2018 and hope you have a successful year.
Best regards,
The FreeIndex Team

We were premium for a number of years, however it didn't really have any impact on our event/job hunting. my reviews were from jobs of other sites I used freeindex to show I had reviews for work.
that's fine since we are a national company.
Bring the Premium price down please, or better still make a reduced price available for those of us, who are bothered about our reviews & reputations. On a similar vein as Tim Bolton, but also we should be rewarded by FREEINDEX for raising it's profile too, by getting our customers to write reviews here. I think 99% of my reviews, come from my own customers who I have canvassed & got myself, by knocking on their doors, & personally recommending my services to people I know & whose trust I have gained through my work. I may have had 1 or 2 customers who have come through FI, so I create a lot of free awareness for FI but I use my FI page as my free website now, & find the review section really great for my website. So to summarise, I scratch your back & you scratch mine. Reduced rate for say, 20 reviews.. £4.99..I think that is reasonable. What do the rest of you think & how about you FI, lets get some feedback please!!
I agree - I do not pay so those paying members should come before mine. Thank
You
For me, half this cost would possibly work, but only if I could see how much promotion is done. Also, I'm not sure if the local slant to this is ood for me as I cover the whole of the UK.
Agree with Thomas Brown - a response from FI would be helpful.
It's down to "FreeIndex" to promote FI Tim and that's my only grumble with FI - when did you ever see FI promoted to the general public - never in my experience. If they are not driving new traffic to the site why pay for membership ? As a "freebie" I have no grounds to complain but would only consider membership if there was evidence that the site was actively promoted.

I find many companies offering for you to add your services to their sites are a rip off, especially email contacts offering you huge databases which are well out dated two thirds if not more of the contacts dont exist.
I dont get many leads from the freeIndex site but its worth having as reviews are linked from them to my official website.
The profile is worth having as an alternative to my official website.
I have been listed with Fi for 5 years now and have only had 1 lead so i can not see why paying for a listing is going to make a big change have the stickers on my van so i am advertising free index for free.has anyone thought about the fact that reviews seem to be running the web at the moment.reviews are all good and well but as a sole trader i find its hard enough to get the quotes done then do the jobs if i get them then i have to chase clients to put reviews on. im listed on yell. yelp and many others.to much is placed on a review if you do a good job then word of mouth will do the rest for you.thanks for your continued listing Fi but i would have to see more goggle presence from you Fi first.
Minster Cars private hire service local long distance
I paid for leads once never again, same with other stuff
Can u call me 2mz on 07880938999

The cost is too high and I know boys who have signed up and didn't get the leads.

Steve Collins from
TechFixI think it is too expensive. Don't get me wrong, I would pay it if I thought I was going to get the leads, but so far it has been pretty dry on leads. I don't think that it is worth it for my category as my Adwords campaign cost less per month and I get lots of jobs from it. I cannot see that I will get much for the money.
This notice has produced a number of varied comments - any response from "Free Index" please?
I agree, paying to get higher rankings doesn't necessarily mean you offer good quality services.
I thought good quality service with the photos was the to freeindex
pictures say a 1000 words for me the premium listing is a cheap winner more photos is a must to show case your work.Im more than happy with proposed changes. some traders have listings with no feedback or even pics why shouldn't they be lower down if they cant be bothered to promote themselves. You only get out if you work hard & put in
To be top of the local lists you need to pay ?... I thought quality was the key ? and turning up on time...silly me...will consider premium but its a little expensive for my category type
I thought that's what I was paying you for in the first place for the past 2/3 years? I guess it was my quality workmanship and 5 star reviews that got me the work and not the premium listing has I thought? Also leads have been lacking in my area recently?
Im ment to be premium listid cos iv payed
I was a premium member for over 2 years. But found that any one could advertise even if they were not registered with a local authority as taxi drivers or taxi Companies. They could always undercut the legal taxi Co and it became a price war. I reported one co to FI but they are still listed. And on job feedback they were winning the price war. I have been providing my service since 1996. We were one of first in area with FI and were one of 1st to go premium but no more might as well advertise with weareacon.com for free
It seems to the reason it's free is because the site is no more :)
Going Premium maybe should be less expensive - we businesses have plenty of costs as it is and advertising has to be chosen carefully. I like FreeIndex (though why I've been sent the closure notice as I last had a review only on 21st Dec...) and I am rated No 2 in my field. I was No 1 but some other guy must've tapped up all his relatives to overtake me and be Mr Smug..
I don't know about other fields but your site seems to have had at least a 50% reduction in leads just over the last two years in wedding photography. Also, the leads that are being placed 'very infrequently' are for cheap and cheerful weddings where the client is looking for the cheapest possible service. So I personally would not be considering any upgrading until I see an improvement in the quantity and quality of leads.
i would go premium but there hasn't been any tree surgery leads under 50 miles for about 4/5 months. Its a very busy time of year so shouldn't be the case.
As an electrician business leads come in more often than not so I'm finding it beneficial
Completely agree with sentiments of D H Weddings Annette/Ray - leads for CV writers have been negligible throughout 2017 and don't warrant any investment.
I appreciate this is a "freebie" but would need to see plenty of evidence that you are promoting the service to potential customers before I invest.
Currently not worth considering a Premium Member position as my category - wedding photography - has had just 3 potential leads since the end of August 2018. 3 leads in 4 months is significantly less than a year or two ago and impossible to justify an investment.
To be fair it's hardly an investment. It's a small amount of money and a tiny part of your bigger marketing strategy (at least it should be). It's the access to the contact details that makes this gold. Being premium won't just get you work but when responding to a lead, it's the chasing up that wins the job.
Hi John, enquiries are posted and up for grabs irrespective of whether member is premium or not - in sectors where enquiries are not materialising then there is no incentive to go premium. When did you last see "Freeindex" promoted externally ?
Access to there contact details that makes it gold you say! When the person posting the job/lead can withhold there phone number and your just left with an email address and no one really replies or contacts you? I may add I am a premium member and all my reviews are 5 star so no reason not to contact me for a free quote has advertised! No phone number could open it up to fake leads/jobs!
I may add it is a small fee so overall the good out ways the bad!! I do get loads of calls/jobs because of this site more then direct contact through the site! Some people forget you get a free web page to direct other customers to see your work! regardless of any work from this site so win win if you ask me :o)
