Im a keen distance runner and I work as a dental health professional so I am on my feet all day and often stooping over and holding myself in poor positions; which results in lower back issues so I started these classes to try reduce pain, injury and develop some core strength and improve flexibility. I have been so pleased with the results so far and am really motivated to keep going because of the benefits I've had! The regular episodes of back pain I previously experienced has stopped and I do feel that my posture is much improved. Im also starting to see some tone to my upper legs; something I've not had previously-even though I run! The stretching and relaxation really complements my busy lifestyle too! Mark is really professional but so lovely and approachable, Id definitely recommend his classes and in particular to those starting out on their yoga/pilates journey :).
Marks class has improved both my physical and mental wellbeing, I was not at all flexible so much so that touching my toes was not possible and after 12 months of attending the class I can feel the difference and can touch my toes with ease. I feel calmer and more relaxed with attending regular classes.
I tried Mark’s yoga class because as a dentist spending long periods of time in a seated, unnatural position I was starting to develop lower back, neck and shoulder pain. I have been a lifelong road cyclist and runner and paid little attention to my posture and core. Even after a short while attending Mark’s classes I have started to feel stronger and noticed less pain and stiffness along with an increased feeling of wellbeing. Thoroughly recommend Mark’s teaching to anyone.
I thoroughly enjoy Mark's classes. He caters for indivuals of all levels and is clear and helpful in his explanations. He has a good sense of humour, making the practice even more enjoyable. Not only has my general fitness improved, ( running PBs at the age of 65), but my blood pressure has considerably lowered since taking Mark's classes.
After I had a bad fall at work I was in a mess, my life changed massively for the worse, months and months of visiting physio appointments and I wasn’t feeling any improvement with my back pain, was still in constant pain. Luckily from word of mouth I got introduced to mark. and what can I say now? Mark has turned my life around, , I’ve had the best one2one sessions, and I feel like a new women. Mark as showed me strength and real excerise that works to manage my back pain, he really does care about his clients and continues to support in every way he can. His constant txts of encouragement/positivity and jokes helps so much. I cannot value mark other than a hero for what he’s done for me… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I have attended Marks Pilates yoga classes for many years at DW in Birstall, I am 71 years old so the fact that any age can do it, is so true I have arthritis and used to have back pain and knee pain, and most of the time I am now pain free. The above justifies my ratings.
Mark is AWESOME, the classes are AWESOME and you feel AWESOME. If you really get in to it and you continue to work on yourself, this becomes not just a session you do so many times a week, it becomes a way of life. Remembering "one chin" "switch on your girdle" and to "keep tall", you begin to do it automatically - "intelligent programming from within! " I would recommend Mark to anyone - no matter your age, fitness level or experience, if anything it makes taking care of yourself fun. Thanks for everything Mark you've been awesome!
Mark is a fabulous pilates teacher. I have attended his classes for over 12 years and through two pregnancies. He is brilliant for beginners through to advanced and for all ages. He is clear, precise, very knowledgable and all this is delivered with a healthy dash of uplifting humour. After each class I feel that my physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing has been exercised in a really positive manner. He is an exceptional pilates instructor and that is the reason I have attended his classes for over 12 years. Beverley - Bradford.
Attending Mark's Yoga classes for nearly a month now… the BEST yoga class I have ever been to. Always tried Yoga classes at the gym etc for about £3 and never felt the benefit always left at the back of a class of about 30 and no help or guidance given… However with Mark's class I walk out feeling amazing and distressed, already feeling the difference. Mark corrects you when wrong and always give advise and guidance for general health and well being. Well worth the money and wont waste my time with other yoga classes…. Very very happy customer !
Mark's classes are very focused but light-hearted, a great way to exercise and relax after a working day. I leave feeling taller, calmer, re-toned and stronger and often with a little more knowledge of how to look after my mind and body. Having done Pilates for over 20 years with various instructors, Mark is by far the best. His routines have shaped and strengthened my body over the years and help to keep my joints flexible and supple as I am maturing, something I intend to continue into my old age. Thank you Mark.
Mark is a fantastic Tutor and clearly understands the importance of the Mind/Body dynamic. I felt so ultimately revitalised after the 3 hour class. I've been going to Yoga classes for the last 46 years, but Mark's class has something really special and offers that extra challenge that I certainly needed. Having said that, Mark manages the class in a way that means anyone, no matter what level you may be at, will reap the benefits. I wouldn't hesitate to attend or recommend any of Mark's classes. Come nearer to Skipton Mark - please!
I decided to try pilates after having major surgery last year. I started classes 10 weeks after my surgery. Mark lets you work at your own pace whilst offering words of encouragement and advice on when to push yourself further. After only a few weeks I felt my stomach muscles getting back into shape and a year after I feel better than ever. Thanks Mark for making me feel awesome again!

I had a coaching session with Mark which left me feeling greatly empowered with a complete different mindset. For the past almost 15 years I have been a keen runner and spend 5 times a week engaging in fast paced, intense cardiovascular exercise. I am currently studying to become qualified fitness instructor. Mark managed to teach me more in the 90 minute session than what I had gained during the whole of my time exercising. Mark fascinated me and has left me wanting to aspire towards his theories to also enable me to teach others. The guy is quite frankly a genius who I hugely admire. I am thoroughly looking forward to the next session and am intrigued as to what it will consist of.
I attended my first class with Mark, he was very attentive and calm. I found it difficult with some of the moves and he showed me the best position for me, I felt so relaxed afterwards. I found the day after I was aching in the right places. I have booked in again and am looking forward to it.
I've been attending Mark's classes for almost a year and would highly recommended them. The class has a friendly and calm atmosphere, which means I always leave the session feeling relaxed. Mark is very personable, always chatting to the group and giving us advice on nutrition and life in general. The sessions are great for all ages as Mark provides appropriate challenges and options for all abilities. My core muscles and arm strength have seen particular improvements since starting Pilates, and I am delighted to see these improvements continue as I challenge myself more in his classes.
