Based in Sheffield, Smokey Planet offers high quality UK web hosting and design services to individuals and small businesses throughout the UK, and beyond.
Our aim is to enable anybody to gain a web presence, regardless of their technical ability.

The business offers a range of web services from domain name registration and website design, through to powerful cloud web hosting using our cutting edge UK data centres located in the heart of England.

Unlike most other companies who wait until checkout to add VAT, all our prices already include this, so the price you see is the price you pay.

DOMAIN NAMES.
We aim to give YOU as much control as possible, and as such, each domain comes with features including full DNS management, web and e-mail forwarding, and the ability to easily add hosting if you wish.

PAY AS YOU GO UK HOSTING. (Choice of Linux Redhat or Windows Server).
Although you'll get 2 months free if you pay for the year, you also have the option to pay via PayPal monthly subscription payments to make it easier on the wallet.
As with the domain names, giving you control is key, and all hosting plans come with an advanced control panel and iPhone control panel as standard, so you can manage your site on the go.
Other features include POP3 and IMAP mailboxes, easy backup and restore, FTP locking, a host of 1-Click Installers for packages such as WordPress, Drupal and Joomla and more. All served via multiple 10Gb connections from Dell Poweredge servers in our secure UK datacentres. (see the website for full specs).

WEB DESIGN.
From hand-coded HTML5 / CSS3 sites to Content Management Systems and online shops, we aim to make it as easy as possible to get you online.

Smokey Planet founder Gav 'Baldy' George started out tinkering with his toys at an early age, trying to work out how they worked.
This natural curiosity continued when he discovered a passion for computers and the possibilities they brought with them.
The next few years were spent fixing PC's for friends and building custom machines, until one day when he picked up a book on writing web code.

Not long after, Smokey Planet was born, hand-coding websites for individuals and small businesses.
Although when working on clients sites hosted with various companies around the world, it was noted that the control panels were often hard to navigate or lacked basic features unless you paid extra.
So in 2012, we decided our clients deserve better and expanded our product range to include domain names and cutting edge UK web hosting.
