Sam is fantastic instructor, really nice and positive guy. Was always a calm environment and made driving with him feel comfortable. Highly recommend if you’re wanting a really good quality learning experience!

Just passed my test today after a few months of working with Sam and I honestly couldn't have done it without him. He provides a calm but very friendly and talkative environment and really takes the time to ensure you understand everything. Overall, very chuffed and a massive thanks to him!

I recently passed my driving test with Grant as my instructor. I found he was very patient and constructive throughout my time learning and always had some great chat! I had felt reassured and calm right from my first lesson up until test day, and it is clear he’s a very intuitive and experienced instructor who understands how to support and tailor to a students learning. I would definitely recommend Smile to anyone looking to learn to drive.

Good value for money, really thorough with explanations or rules of the road and how to correct your mistakes, they do teach stricter than the test actually is but helps you when u come to urs test to be properly prepared and pass first time hopefully.

Kat is amazing, great for people who are nervous or neurodivergent. I put off lessons for years because I was nervous to meet someone new but I’m so glad I chose this school!

Sam has been super friendly and helpful as an instructor from the get go. His knowledge about cars is second to none and his way of explaining things makes them easy to understand and more importantly easy to remember. The pace of learning has been perfect and any adjustments needed were always flexible and easy to make. Sam also had a great understanding of what level you are at in terms of your driving skill and tailors the lessons around what you will feel comfortable doing so that you never feel like you're expected to do something beyond your ability or out of your comfort zone. And most importantly the attitude towards the learner and atmosphere created has been very friendly, calm and relaxed making every lesson an absolutely joy!

His step by step approach and clear instructions really work to build your confidence and give you the skills you need. I went from being very anxious to really enjoying driving! I've got Grant. D as my instructor and he was brilliant, from what I've heard and noticed, he is able to tailor the lesson to a specific learner, so whether he sees you require a faster or a bit slower pace, he will do whatever is necessary to make sure you have all of the skills and information to pass. He managed to help me pass first time so I'm really happy with him and Smile School. Trully professionals in their field.

I had a very enjoyable experience learning to drive with Grant from Smile. He was patient with me and gave me great insight when learning giving me the confidence I need on the roads. Overall a great experience and would recommend.

I was lucky to get Julianna as my driving instructor. She is such a great and knowledgeable instructor. Very calm and composed in all situations. She made sure that I was confident in every aspect of my driving. As a result, I passed with 0 minors. I would recommend her and Smile School of Motoring to everyone who is learning to drive in the Edinburgh area.

Sam was the first instructor that got back to me saying he is able to fit me in after I had unsuccessfully contacted around 20 schools. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Sam is the perfect instructor. Very experienced and calm with excellent teaching methods. I was a complete beginner and very nervous. He was always very patient and knew when I was ready for the next stage. Encouraged me to make independent decisions, gave plenty of positive feedback and allowed time for reflection at the end of the lessons. He was also very understanding and flexible when I couldn't make the lesson and fit me in for extra lessons where possible. Once I was quite confident with my driving we were able to have nice chats during the lessons which created an even more comfortable environment for learning. Always a great laugh when you get in the car whilst getting pushed to your limits every lesson. I always looked forward to the lessons and throughly enjoyed them.

Just passed today and all thanks to Kat for her patience and experience in teaching to drive and also gave good knowledge and understanding that made the whole experience a joy. Thanks Kat .
