Passed today for the first time, cant tell you how elated I am but I wouldnt of got here without malcolm! Absolute patient of a saint but firm when needs be! I wouldnt know how other instructors are to rate them beside malcolm but I would highly recommend him before going elsewher. Thank you once again!

Great driving instructor, helping me to pass first time. Malcolm's knowledge about the skills required and the roads around St Helens is excellent, with each lesson's route carefully planned. Was taught all the necessary maneuvers in plenty of time for my test. Friendly and always a good laugh!

Just passed first time and I couldn't be happier! I have been learning with Malcolm for quite a while and I couldn't recommend him more! If I made a mistake (which was pretty often) it was always identified immediately and I was told how to improve it. It also helped that I could have a laugh and a chat with my instructor on lessons, it calmed me down as I was a very nervous learner driver! Couldn't thank Malcolm more and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to drive!

Just passed. Malcolm is a top, no-nonsense driving instructor. He is patient but if you keep messing up he'll let you know, he tells it how it is! You need someone like that if you're going to learn to drive. He has years of experience. If he can teach me to drive he can teach anyone. Highly recommend him!

I passed my test today with Malcolm and I literally can't recommend him enough. I couldn't of asked for a better instructor! I had a few instructors before Malcolm but Malcolm is by far the best out there. He is the best at what he does. I am so excited about passing my test but also a little sad that I will no longer get to have anymore lessons with Malcolm so that just goes to show how amazing he really is. If Malcolm can teach me to drive and get me to pass first time then he can teach anyone! I was a complete nightmare with no self confidence and questioned my ability all the time, but he put me straight and I got my pass! I enjoyed all my lessons, put at ease from day one by Malcolm having a chat the lessons flew by! If I messed up, which I did a lot, he would put me straight and explain everything thoroughly til I understood, even if that was over and over :-) I would 100% recommend him to anyone! Patience of a saint.

I would really recommend Macolm as a driving instructor as he is a really honest and down to earth guy, he'll always tell you what you've done right and what you've done wrong. Whatever you do wrong he'll fix it, he's a genius. It's easy to get on with him and he is a good quality driving instructor, as he helped me pass first time.

I searched for a driving instructor on Google and phoned through the list in order. Most of them were fully booked or I had to leave a message and wait approx 30 mins to be called back. Out of all the messages I left with other instructors only a couple replied. One being malc, only to tell me he was fully booked but actually took time to advise me on others to phone. I phoned them and had the same trouble, I was at the point of giving up so called malc back to teach me when he has got a space (weeks/months) it didn't matter I wanted him to teach me because he took the time and called me back with advice. He did fit me in and I am so glad he did, his professional attitude and friendly banta really help you without pressure to improve in each lesson. I passed my test about 5 hours ago 1St time I'm still buzzing but couldn't wait to write this review because it's all thanks to malc. And needless to say my niece has her 1St lesson booked for next month when she turns 17. I fully recommend.

I chose Nutgrove Driving School following recommendations from family and friends. I immediately knew I'd made the right decision after meeting Malcolm. From the word go he put me at ease and built my confidence each lesson. His patience and constant encouragement made the experience a very positive one. Nutgrove driving school was highly recommended to me by my Dad who was taught by Malcolm. Being taught by Malcolm himself was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was an absolute privilege to be taught by a person with such passion for driving, who delivered each lesson to an exceptional standard. I have just passed my test having had all my lessons with Malcolm. I chose him as my driving instructor based on his excellent reviews, and he definitely lived up to them. I have recommended him to lots of friends as he is very patient, always punctual and made learning to drive a fun experience. I can honestly say that I'll miss my weekly lessons, and you definitely won't find a better instructor than Malcolm.

I had 15 driving lessons with Malcolm and I didn't feel I was progressing at all. I felt that I was wasting my time and money, I switched driving instructor to one in the Wirral as I was determined to pass my practical test. The reason I choose to get an instructor in the Wirral ( Upton ) was because the waiting time for the practical test was only two weeks. In St Helens and surrounding areas it was an 11 week wait to book the test. I took 7 lessons with an instructor in the Wirral and passed my test first time with a couple of minors. I hadn't done any manoeuvres with Malcolm at all and felt the other driving instructor gave me a massive boost in knowledge and skills to pass my test. I wish my experience with Malcolm was as positive as some that I have read….

I passed first time with Malcolm. He has an exceptional eye for detail and almost telepathic sense for the road and you as a learner driver. He doesn't beat around the bush and tells you exactly what you need to do to become the best driver you can be. Both my brother and I have passed our driving test first time with Malcolm 6 years apart - which proves that his high standard of teaching is consistent and reliable. The lessons are enjoyable thanks to his (terrible) jokes and support. I was always given clear instructions on how to fix my mistakes and improve my driving skills. Before taking my lessons I never wanted to drive but had to have a taste of what driving was like before I made a final decision. Malcolm completely changed my view on driving and it's now one of the best things I've ever done. My first lesson wasn't the greatest, I think I actually gave you whiplash, sorry Malcolm! But things started to look up after that and that's because Malcolm took the time to repeatedly go over the basics with me and make sure I was learning and taking it all in to become the driver I am today. He has so much patience, especially to put up with me, and he never gives up on you despite you getting things wrong numerous times. When looking for driving instructors Malcolm really is one of the best, he's not in it for the money or business he's purely in it to teach new drivers how to drive correctly and responsibly. I sat my first practical test today and passed with only 5 minors. Extremely happy and grateful for everything Malcolm has taught me over the past year and I would definitely recommend him without a shadow of doubt to anyone wanting to start driving!
