I did my driving lessons with Mitch and we had about 12-14 hours. He was honestly just amazing! Friendly, reliable, very organised, flexible with hours and my learning style and never run out of patience or words of encouragement. Our lesson plans really helped me to keep track of my progress and to understand my own strengths/ weaknesses. I would recommend Mitch to anyone who wants to learn how to drive safely and efficiently. Can not thank Mitch enough .
Mitchell is an outstanding driving instructor - calm, patient, and incredibly supportive. As someone whose first language isn’t English and who was used to driving on the other side of the road, I was nervous about adapting to UK driving. But Mitchell made the whole process feel approachable and manageable. He explains things with a smile, super clearly and never makes you feel silly (even if he has to repeat something multiple times! ) He’s reliable, always on time, and adjusts his teaching style to your individual needs. His genuine care for his students show in every lesson. He creates a relaxed, encouraging environment that really builds your confidence behind the wheel. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a truly great instructor!
I can’t thank Mitch enough, he’s a great instructor, methods stuck well and I really enjoyed my intensive and time spent learning in the car. Couldn’t had asked for a better instructor for my intensive. I would highly recommend this driving school to any and all new drivers of all levels. It has something for everyone. Thank you How2Drive and a big thank you to Mitch.
Jerry Hindley has been my instructor for the last few months and he has been simply incredible. Very patient, very helpful and extremely professional. He has helped me get through my fears for roundabouts and taught me how to drive safe. Also, he has an incredible sense of humour which has made me feel more relaxed and confident. Thank you Jerry!
Avoid "How to Drive" – Unprofessional and Unreliable. I usually don’t leave reviews, but after reaching out to "How to Drive" with a formal complaint, they completely dismissed my concerns without acknowledging how their instructor’s actions impacted me. I have all the evidence to prove I was accommodating and respectful throughout my lessons, yet I was treated unfairly. I took an intensive course with Ivan, who constantly changed my schedule due to his school activities. I adjusted to every request, including allowing his friend to take me for my test on March 3, 2025, since he was unavailable. When DVSA canceled my test that day, I immediately informed him and his friend who acknowledged it was no issue. Ivan didn’t suggest me using those hrs for practice. I also booked extra lessons, and kept him updated on my rescheduled test. On the morning of my test in March 2025, Ivan suddenly demanded an £80 payment—something he had never mentioned before. I was never unwilling to pay, only explained he could have managed my expectations better. ”as I wasn’t aware of the new fee and we had seen prior to that day. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he told me to leave his car just an hour before my test, leaving me emotional and in tears. He knew my theory test was expiring on April 1, 2025, yet he showed no regard for the impact of his.Actions. No learner should have to experience this on such an important day. The company did nothing to address the issue, so I’m leaving this review to warn others—do not trust How to Drive with your driving journey.Moreexpand_more
Thanks to Simon I passed 1st time with zero minors! , he went above and beyond to support and guide me, When I could not grasp things he would revisit the subject with me and find ways that worked for me to understand and remember. He was very patient me and considerate when I struggled with certain manoeuvres, he would show me point by point demonstrating himself where markers would be in my mirrors so I could visuilze things better. He has a very welcoming and comforting nature which made me feel at ease which made lessons feel less stressful! As one of his longest students I never felt I couldn't express my struggles with him and after having gaps in my lessons he would ease me back into lessons and understood life can sometimes get in the way! Highly recommend Simon! 5**.
Had the best possible experience with Pippa Denton and she had my hopes high throughout all the test and learning and couldn’t thank her enough for everything, she will be missed.
My instructor was Tim ecclestone and he was an amazing teacher. He was very patient, informative and confident with his driving knowledge. He’s such a pleasant guy to be around and he knew how to keep me calm when things got stressful. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is nervous about driving.
My instructor was Kirsty. She’s a delight to be taught by, she’s very kind and honest with you, highlighting your mistakes and never making you feel bad about making them, but also praises you for doing well. Thanks to her, I passed my test first time with only 1 minor.
I absolutely loved my time with How 2 Drive, the two instructors I had were really nice and patient to me, they allowed me to have the confidence in myself to keep going, and the sessions themselves are at a really nice pace to understand what to do, regardless of your skill level, I recommend them to anyone who needs lessons.
My instructor was Adrian Stimpson and he was very kind, supportive and chatty. I had never driven before at all, but with his help I passed first time with 40 hours of professional practice. As for How2Drive, I applied for driving lessons in September and was already starting by November, so the wait was really not long at all!
Just passed my driving test and had mitch as an instructor he was a absolutely brilliant! He's an amazing instructor would recommend to anyone thinking of going there driving test.
My instructor K, was brilliant with me. Really helped me develop from a nervous starter who couldn't get round a carpark, to passing my test first time. Would definitely recommend.
I passed my driving test last month- January, 2025, and I can confidently say it was worth it! After having struggled with other driving instructors in the past, I chose to enroll in intensive classes with How to Drive. My instructor, Wayne, was incredibly patient and professional. He not only prepared me thoroughly for the test but also taught me how to be a safe and skilled driver. Thank you, Wayne! I highly recommend this driving school!
I have passed my test today and I must say it has been a long journey. But thanks to Tim, my instructor, I didn’t give up on the dream to have a UK driver’s license. He was more than an instructor- I would like to see him more as a friend who got my back throughout the journey. This is a happy moment and it’s all thanks to Tim and How 2 Drive.
I have just passed my driving test and had Jerry Hindley as my instructor. Jerry made me feel very comfortable in the car, was very clear with instructions and advice. When I made a mistake, he helped me understand what I had done wrong and how to correct it efficiently and quickly also in a very calm way. Thank you Jerry for all your help and support! .
Excellent experience as a learner with How-2-Drive. Very useful easy to use app and efficient test booking service. My instructor Pippa has been incredibly patient, supportive and skilled in not only teaching me to be a good, safe driver for my test and beyond, but also in building my confidence and enabling me to overcome my severe test anxiety. I couldn’t have passed a test without her! Would highly recommend their services.
Had Laura Nicholls as instructor who helped me with all the little things I had been struggling with - passed first time so it clearly worked.
I learned with Sue King, she's very patient and calm, and very open-minded about different ways to help you understand skills and situations. How-2-Drive make it easy to reflect on your lessons, schedule them for the future, and prepare you for your theory test too. Couldn't recommend them more to new drivers.
