We purchased the service for our short-distance house move from our semi-furnished rental to our new house. The service came highly recommended so we were quite disappointed with the service. John was great on the phone, talked me through the process and went over what items we would and wouldn't be moving. It cost over £500 which is a lot for us but we thought it would be worth it to have all our things moved in one go and not have to do any heavy lifting. On the day, the two guys arrived late and hung around outside smoking and chatting when they got here. They came in and we went over what we would be moving, and they said that they didn't think they would have to move so much and might have to do two trips. They seemed very reluctant to move our things. I explained that I had discussed exactly what would be moved with John, and I had to call the service to make sure that everything was okay and we wouldn't have to pay extra, which was stressful. The guys were pretty slow, and we ended up having to help them carry things out to the truck just to get things moving. At the other end they parked outside the house on a double yellow and told us that we would have to pay if they got a ticket, despite me telling John that there was no parking directly outside the house but there was a nearby side road. They said that they would just unload and go rather than bringing things into the house so they didn't have to park there for long, so once again we had to carry a lot of our things into the house. As they were leaving one of the guys told us that the day before he had drunk ten beers on the job and didn't even feel anything, because he had a drinking problem and a suspended license which didn't exactly leave a great impression!We were both really sore and tired the next day, and sadly felt that we should have paid a fraction of the cost and hired a van to do the move ourselves.Moreexpand_more

John and his team were absolutely outstanding - by far the best removals company we’ve ever experienced! Patient, careful, and full of good humour, even when faced with challenges. We used this company for both removals and storage and they were a pleasure to deal with at every stage. The men were all friendly and pleasant and, most importantly, always took care in the way they handled our things - from small and delicate to extremely awkward and heavy. With their friendliness and professionalism, they made a stressful time less so, so we would definitely use them again.

Good service. Was last minute exchange/completion and I was fitted in. Two polite young men took care of all my things and nothing damaged at all. Can’t fault them.

Hallam Removals packed and transferred our whole office to new premises in January 2022. From the start the service was professional and friendly. Their price was very competitive and other reviews were good, hence the reason we used them. On the day of the move the team worked so hard, with no breaks, despite being offered drinks. The guys were very friendly and introduced themselves to everyone. The packing was completed in 3 hours and after just 30 minutes for lunch, they delivered our furniture/crates to our new premises and unpacked in about 1. 5 hours. I would definitely recommend this organisation, who do exactly what they say on the tin. Thanks to Jon and his team for a great job.

John and his team worked tirelessly on one of the hottest days of the year to move our entire house to a new one in Sheffield. We also employed their packing service which was fantastic and took the stress out for us. No move is straight forward and with a cellar and loft to contend with as well as tricky large appliances, John and his team had their work cut out. Having used other removal firms in the past, it was refreshing to have a young and enthusiastic team on the job. It cost a few quid but they did everything for us such were our needs this time. They were better value than other quotes we'd had. Thanks so much guys. Highly recommended. PS the baby came 2 days after!

Absolutely amazing service would recommend.

John and his team were wonderful during our move in Sheffield this month. With a small baby, I was worried the move would be extremely stressful but Hallam Removals were calm, professional, punctual and cheerful throughout. I have no qualms recommending them thoroughly.

John and the team moved us from Sheffield to Nottingham in winter. We had more stuff than we even imagined but John and the team had clearly assessed we'd need a lot of lorries 3)ng and people to get from a to b. They were all lovely and even politely put up with my dad 'helping'. Would not hesitate to recommend.

The team at Hallam Removals were very helpful during the difficult move from our 2nd floor flat. They worked with great professionalism, seeing to it that each item was accounted for and that the correct safety procedures were followed in properly loading the goods. Despite adverse weather conditions (snow and heavy rain) they followed the agreed schedule and the entire move was completed in good time. Rates were very affordable, genuinely the best around, and the team was always willing to assist in any way that they could, including giving me a ride! We had a few quotes and Hallam offered the best value by far. On top of that, John and Patrick were 100% reliable and got the job done on time with no breakages or mishaps. They were also v friendly. We ll be moving again in a few months and would be v happy to use them again.
