Chris is an excellent driving teacher who understands people. He's got a great sense of humour and is good to chat to which makes the lessons enjoyable and helps diffuse nerves. I had an interrupted journey learning to drive, through the lockdowns and other life events. Chris has been patient and accommodating and genuinely committed to getting me to pass, which I was delighted to have done at Burgess Hill last week! I actually quite enjoyed the test which is a huge development. Chris pushes you to get lots of practice at the parts which you find more challenging; for me this was dual carriageways and roundabouts. We tackled night driving in rush hour Brighton many times which has set me up well for independent driving. Chris gives clear feedback and also took on board any thoughts I had on what would work best for me in preparing for the test. I would highly recommend Drive with Trickey. Thanks Chris!

Learning to drive through Chris Trickey was a great experience. He was thorough and clear in all aspects of the learning process, giving me clear updates and goals for where I needed to be. He gave me flexibility to chose which areas I wanted to spend my lessons covering leading up to the test - and through his professional and comprehensive instruction techniques, he gave me the confidence and skills to pass my test on the 1st attempt. I just passed my test with two minors after learning with Chris Trickey. I was extremely nervous for my test and Chris was very patient, encouraging and helpful. Would recommend.

Chris is a great instructor, I have the highest praise for him and his approach to teaching. I have previously had 2 other instructors and I feel that Chris made all the difference. Firstly Chris books the test for you, he takes all the stress out of it, I previously had to mess around trying to get a cancellation and it was a nightmare. He takes care not to be overloaded with students so he has the time he needs to get you to pass, this also means you can have a dedicated time and day when you have your lesson, for me this was a very valuable thing. With my previous instructors I had no set time or day for a lessons, as an older learner who is freelance it really helped me knowing that I didn't have to chop and change my lessons around. Chris is an extremely understanding teacher who works with you to learn, he is never disparaging or aggressive if you get something wrong. I was a bit anxious when it came to the examination and he really helped to calm my nerves, I felt prepared because I had had consistent lessons leading up to my test which gave me the confidence I needed to pass, not all instructors can do this because they don't have the capacity because they have too many pupils. I found myself chasing my previous instructor for lessons because we didn't have a weekly set day and time which became quite stressful sometimes. Having this stability had a massive impact on my ability to pass. The other thing I will add is Chris will not get you to take the test if you're not ready, he has a system where you'll need to be scoring over 90% in your mock test before you can take your driving test, so you know that you are capable of passing and that the only thing that could impact you are extraneous variable such as nerves. Whether you are just starting to learn or already have some experience, Chris is truly an excellent instructor. He instilled everything I needed to pass, stopped some bad habits eg. Unnecessarily coasting which I had picked up from my previous instructor. Also he has great taste in music and literature so what more could you ask for in a driving instructor!Moreexpand_more

Had a great experience with Chris and honestly don’t think I could have passed with out him. Struggled with other instructors but Chris set me at ease and had a really professional and methodical approach. Was lucky to find him when I did as he gave me the much needed confidence to pass.

Of the three driving instructors I’ve had, Chris was by far the best. Unwaveringly calm and patient especially when I wasn’t and very clear in his instructions and teaching style. On top of which he is easy to talk to and funny which made the lessons enjoyable 10/10.

Chris is a very skilled teacher who cares about his pupils. I switched to him from another driving instructor as I wasn’t satisfied with the level of guidance and feedback I was getting. It was the best decision I could have made - I passed my test on first try with two minors. I learnt so much from Chris and my driving improved rapidly. He is attentive and provides full, constructive feedback. If something needs correcting, he won’t just expect you to figure it out, he’ll give you advice and tips on how to get better. He is also patient and good humoured. I made many mistakes in my lessons but he never made me feel bad about them and I was always able to bounce back. He is also organised and reliable. I appreciated being able to make a lesson plan that we could stick to, while also knowing he could be flexible if needed. Thanks so much Chris, it was a pleasure learning with you. Great quality instruction. Highly reccomend. Able to move mountains to get a practical test slot sooner than what was booking which was much appreciated.

Highly recommend Chris to all first time drivers, particularly those who never quite had the courage to get behind the wheel. I honestly never thought I would get to the point of being a confident driver but after two years of learning, I’m happy to say I finally passed my practical test today! I was not an easy person to teach but Chris dealt with my nerves really well and, despite almost having several heart attacks after I tried to drive on the wrong side of the road (European driver here) he never gave up on me. He is also always on time and has a great sense of humour. Thanks for being a legend, Chris, and looking forward to our motorway training soon!

Chris is a fantastic instructor. I’ve used a few over the years but Trickey’s the one who got me passed! Always patient and reassuring and knows exactly how to get you on the road! Highly Recommended!

Excellent driving instructor. Patient, punctual and affable. Good at gauging students level of ability and tailoring the lessons appropriately. Explains things clearly and concisely. Overall I would highly recommend!

Since failing my first driving test with 2 SERIOUS faults, Chris has helped me to pass in Just 10 lessons with only 2 MINOR faults. I would recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for driving tuition, whatever your experience level. Thanks for everything Chris!
