My experience with Academy Intensive Driving School was excellent on all metrics: result, efficiency, professionalism, value for money, and enjoyment Learning to drive in my mid-30s was a daunting prospect, but Pete is a calm and experienced teacher, and I began to feel confident very quickly. I especially appreciated Pete’s approach to safety and best practice, and his focus on training good drivers rather than merely ‘test ready’ candidates. I’d travelled a long way for the course because my husband also passed with Academy Intensive and was very happy with the service, and I appreciated Pete’s flexibility to work with my travel dates. I booked the 40h residential option and the accommodation was fantastic. I enjoyed meeting other students learning at the school and hearing about their equally positive experiences. I had prior experience of learning to drive as an 18 year old, with two different schools, and found Academy Intensive to be superior by miles. King’s Lynn is also an ideal setting for learners. Thanks so much, Pete, for a 10/10 experience.
The service and standard of driving skills taught throughout my driving course was brilliant. I did the 25hr intensive course and it was put together in such a professional detailed teaching standard method. Everything was explained very easily throughout every driving stage. One of the amazing qualities I found doing my course was the level of open communication. If I was finding something not easy to get first time Pete would take me away from it for a while then he’d go back to it so I didn’t over think it and fixate on it. This way of teaching was so much better and it allowed me to enjoy my driving course and concentrate better. Pete was very patient and kind in his mannerisms and approach. He definitely knows how to teach and you will feel and see how much progress you can truly make from day 1 to day 3. The driving course is intense and if you want to be taught at a high level then this is definitely the right driving course for you. Everything within the Intensive course package is put together for you from the accommodation to the pick up from the train station and returned to the train station after your test. If you are thinking about taking a driving course and wondering if it’s worth the money I would say 100%. I am so happy I chose this driving academy to obtain my driving license. I would like to say a Big Thank You to Academy Intensive. I am so happy I found you.Moreexpand_more
I could not have been more happy with the service and experience that was provided by Academy Driving School. All my interactions with Pete and Barry were easy and encouraging, they were more than willing to go the extra mile both in terms of organisation but also in terms of helping me with any issues I was having with a particular skill. The lessons are structured and relevant to both the driving test and real life situations - I would have no hesitation in recommending Academy Driving School to anyone.
I completed an intensive coarse and passed my test 1st time with Academy Intensive Driving! I decided the 35 hour coarse was right for me. I was a little nervous however Barry my instructor was really nice and friendly and soon made me feel comfortable and confident in the car. I particularly liked how he was very reassuring on test day reminding me to breath! It really help me remain calm. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of doing an intensive coarse.
Very pleased with Academy Driving School and would highly recommend - especially if you don't want to wait half a year for your test. I travelled about 80 miles (each way) to do an intensive course and was test ready after just 30 hours over 5 days. With acoomodation at a lovely B&B included as part of my package and in the lovely setting of Kings Lynn this was a lovely break away from work whilst learning to drive. Whilst I may not have passed the test at the first attempt, this was more down to my nerves on the test day and I can not fault my driving insrtuctor Steve who was brilliant. Came back for another 12 hours lessons and passed. To put it into perspective, I started looking for driving lessons in August and booked my 1st course and test in September, followed by the second course and test in early November so that's 3 monsth from starting lessons to passing my test having taken the test twice. Try and find somewhere else you can do that! Wholly recommend learning with these guys :).
The course was very well organised - having accommodation organised and collection from the station took a lot of the stress out of planning and meant I could concentrate on the lessons. I did the 25 hour course - I'd had some previous lessons a while ago which probably helped, but was definitely rusty and nowhere near test-ready when I arrived. Barry was a great teacher - patient and able to suggest alternative methods where I was struggling. I definitely appreciated the regular reminders to breathe when it got stressful! I'd say I'd do it again, but I finished the week with a pass so don't have to!
Pete was a great instructor. He is super patient, kind and explained everything very clearly. He picked up all my mistakes and where I was unsure, explained to me and we practiced until I became comfortable. I did 25 hour course and fell ready for the test but failed the first attempt due to my nerves and Pete was able to book me in for the second test quickly and I passed.
Peter is a really great driving instructor. Trust me as I’ve had 5! And he is by far the best teacher I’ve come across. He’s kind, patient and explains everything really well in a way that things just click. I can’t thank him enough and would recommend him to anyone. .
I did the 25 hour intensive course, I had previously failed my test 6 months previously and hadnt driven since. I was a little apprehensive and lacked confidence. Peter my instructor straight from the get go put me at ease and by the end of the week I felt I was not only ready for my test but would be a confident and safe driver after my test. I passed my test at the end of the week. If you are considering booking a 25 hour course I would say that you do need a little driving experience before hand. I really enjoyed my week and would fully recommend. Thanks Peter.
Having done a fair few hours pre-Covid elsewhere but never managed to book a test before my theory expired, I did a 5-day intensive course with Pete last month, and passed at the end of the course! Pete was very professional and approachable throughout the course. He gave clear explanations, allowed ample time for practise and repetition to go over problem areas, and the course was overall very well paced. I'm very pleased with the outcome and unexpectedly the process was fun! I booked the course with accommodation and Pete took care of arranging the b&b (which was really comfortable), along with booking the driving test, picking up and dropping off at the station etc. Pete has clearly put a lot of effort to improve and streamline this course and I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking for an efficient and stress-free way to pass!
I did an intensive residential driving course with Peter which gave me the opportunity to purely focus on driving away from my busy work schedule. This was perfect for me the lessons were always enjoyable and Peter made me feel comfortable from the get go. I felt super confident going into my test and I didn’t even have that horrible nervous feeling the night before I can’t speak highly enough of Peter as an instructor and would recommend him and the course to anyone looking to get on the road.
I did an intensive, residential driving course with Peter after having an 18 years hiatus between lessons. The course enabled me to leave work and day-to-day distractions at home to concentrate on my driving. This worked brilliantly, and in the time I spent with Peter we had a few laughs and some interesting conversations, but most importantly, he made me a confident driver. Peter was brilliant in delivering lessons in a way that made what I learned memorable and digestible. We were able to concentrate on practicing those areas that needed more work until they were just right. On the final day, I went into my test feeling that all bases had been covered, and I felt confident. My test included all the hardest parts of driving to learn, and I still passed first time! I am so grateful to Peter's guidance, and would recommend an intensive course to anyone looking to get on the road.
Exceptional Driving School – I undertook a five-day intensive driving course in January 2024, having failed two driving tests pre pandemic. Pete is an excellent instructor and I couldn’t recommend Academy Driving School enough, the service from start to finish is professional and I really enjoyed the teaching style. I was absolutely overjoyed when the driving Examiner (who was absolutely fantastic) told me I had passed with three minors. Pete’s is patient and supportive and his explanations are first class which really helped to build my confidence. As I became more confident, Pete would question decisions I had made, sometimes offering a different perspective – this is invaluable as it really gets you thinking. In one such instance, Pete told me about ‘flash for cash’ scams (I hadn’t heard of this before). This wasn’t done to worry me or dent my confidence – it was to ensure I had as much knowledge as possible before making driving decisions. King’s Lynn is a great place to drive, offering a variety of roads and conditions. There are a large number of learner drivers, so generally drivers are very considerate and more tolerant. In my own naivety, I wasn’t as prepared for how tiring the course was going to be, especially in the first few days. Don’t expect to do too much when you’re done driving for the day.Moreexpand_more
