Andrew is an excellent teacher! My daughter really struggled with her balance and with finding courage. It took Andrew less than an hour to teach her to cycle! I especially like that the class was focused on rode safety and understanding the cycling rules. I’ve already recommended Andrew to many of my friends.
My daughter went from not being confident at all on a bike, to being able to ride it independently within one lesson with Andrew. He has a great way with kids and knows exactly how to encourage, motivate and support them in learning to ride, and in gaining confidence once they are riding. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others in the future.
Despite regularly commuting for 16years I had several great takeaways to act on relating to door zones, looking (life saver look), dynamically managing risk (might do same junction several different ways as circumstances change) as well as positive re-enforcement of the things I was getting right. Many thanks Andrew.
Andrew showed me how to ride my new bike, which is a much higher specification than anything I have owned before. Of course, like many adults, I kind of learned to ride a bike as a child, but I never fully got to grips with more than 5 gears …. The work with Andrew was incredibly confidence building, and simply fun too. I learned a lot, and I really appreciated Andrew's positive and encouraging teaching style.
I can’t speak highly enough of Andrew. He delivered a family cycle lesson for me and my daughter (who needed to build her confidence in riding a bike). The session was really good fun, super informative and has really brought my daughter on in terms of skills and confidence. Andrew was very calm and patient. I would recommend to anyone.
Andrew is incredibly helpful and a brilliant instructor. He was incredibly supportive with my wife who is new to road cycling, and even taught me who has been doing it for two decades a thing or two as well! He's an engaging and passionate instructor and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody else seeking a bit more advice.
My 6 year old has recently learned how to ride a bike by Andrew. She has never used a balance bike nor a 2 wheel scooter so learning balance was new to her on wheels. Andrew was amazing, the way he interacted with my little girl and praised her built her confidence and she was cycling within 40 minutes. I would recommend Andrew to anyone who wants their little ones to learn. Andrew was extremely prompt in responding to my emails. She is loving being able to cycle and sings whilst doing so. Keep doing what your doing Andrew, you have saved me from getting a sore back .
I have been keen to help develop my 11 year old daughters cycling skills and road awareness and this 2-hour course was perfect for the following reasons:-- Following a few initial checks, the coach (Andrew) tailored the course to suit existing skills, - He allowed plenty of time to put into practice what he was teaching including encouraging questions / clarity along the way, - Andrew used everyday occurrences (e. G. Bike maintenance checks, traffic management and reading the road) in a very safe environment which he built up to "on the road" riding. - Excellent value for money. - Andrew is a superb coach with excellent bike and Highway Code knowledge which he is able to discuss in a way children (& adults) will understand immediately.
My son spent an hour with Andrew. He helped set up his bike and then began teaching him balance first, then pedal on and he was away! My son is now addicted and is out on his bike as much as possible. Andrew was kind and patient and had a great supportive way of talking through the stages and made it feel effortless. Definitely recommend Andrew for cycle training 5star.
The best sort of teaching is the kind which makes you see the world differently, and that was how our younger son and I were left after Andrew's excellent cycle training last Thursday. Neither of us were particularly confident cyclists, but with his help; clear and memorable instruction; and encouragement, we now have an understanding of how to check a bike, ride it safely - and what we need to practise. (The impromptu Spitfire fly-by which Andrew pointed out during the lesson was an unexpected bonus! :-) ).
Andrew provided my family and I with 2. 5 hours of free Cycling Scotland Family Essential Cycle Skills training. This is a wonderful initiative and Andrew was an informative, engaging, and encouraging instructor, ready to adapt to our specific requirements and offer advice and training in a supportive and memorable way. Everyone in our family - from my 10-year old daughter to my 51-year old "old hand" self - came away with new things to work on and new skills to build on, in addition to a valuable refresh of existing skills plus up-to-date information on changes to cycling infrastructure and policies. All in all, an excellent course, and expertly delivered by Andrew.
