I love my days spent with Sylvia, I have learnt so much. Every time I go I learn so many techniques and processes. It all takes place in a very well equipped studio and I have met so many interesting people. In two months I have completed two projects and started several more.

What a wonderful day we had. Sylvia is so friendly and welcoming that you feel as though you've known her for years. Her wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm cannot fail to encourage anyone from beginner to the more experienced. I cannot wait to book another day! Thank you Sylvia. Debra.

Such an enjoyable day, learnt so much with Sylvia providing lots of tips on all aspects of quilting. Her knowledge is immense and so grateful that she shared it with us. The place too is so inspirational full of lovely quilts.

I have taken several projects to Sylvia at various stages of completion, and have been delighted with the ideas, suggestions and help offered. Your patience and encouragement are brilliant with beginners, and coupled with your skill and ability to guide and lead your students ensures a quickly gained confidence. Add to this the absolute delight of working in the Studio and the recipe for the perfect sewing experience is complete.

I have been attending Sylvia's workshops now for over a year and I have learnt a lot. Sylvia is a patient and enthusiastic teacher, her studio is wonderful and has lots of examples of work to inspire you. Sylvia is helpful, encouraging and easy to talk to - she never makes you feel stupid for asking what you might consider to be a silly question, and her tips and tricks help to make the learning (and doing) easy. I would highly recommend Sylvia's workshops be you a novice or an experienced patchwork and quilter.

Sylvia is a fantastic quilter and tutor. Her work is fantastically detailed and precise and she teaches to the highest standard but with a sense of humour. I look forward to my quilting sessions and have learnt so much already. Sylvia is a very kind lady and is always happy to help and advise. I recommend her wholeheartedly.

Working with Sylvia in her "Aladin's Cave" studio is always a wonderful and rewarding experience, either as an individual or part of a group. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and encouragement never falters. The whole experience is so much more than learning techniques.

White Gables is in my opinion the best place to learn and play in the area! Sylvia is a very knowledgeable teacher. Her studio is comfortable, very well equipped and set in a peaceful location. I gained a solid knowledge of quilting and patchwork techniques and even had the pleasure of entering one of my quilts into the Great Northern Quilt show at Harrogate! Highly recommended.

As a tutor, Sylvia has taught me so well, I have now made five quilts of various patterns and size. The tutorials are clear and suited to the student's own level. It is possible to complete designs and individualise them. There is no problem that Sylvia cannot help to solve, whether it is the pattern, the fabric or the machine.

Sylvia is a great teacher who inspires you with her enthusiasm for patchwork. She has endless patience ,such obvious subject knowledge,and really gives you the "tools"to make a hobby into a passion. She calls lessons "playtime" and you really do enjoy yourself! Thanks Sylvia!

Sylvia's studio is in a restful garden setting and is a great place to focus on patchwork and quilting without distraction. Sylvia's knowledge and experience is a great resource and she's a patient teacher, happy to work on different projects and at an individual's own pace . What more could you ask for?
