If you value your website, decent customer service and a knowledgeable support team then look elsewhere! Having had a repeating issue, every time Windows ran an auto update, the final straw came when the server broke and had to be rebuilt. Having been told it would be restored from a backup taken the night before it was nearly 24 hours before I had a site operational again, only to find it was from a backup over one month old. The reason given was that they were unable to extract from an incremental backup but were continuing to work on a full restore of the latest data. This meant my site was only operational from an informational point of view but couldn't take bookings or payments as the data would likely be overwritten once a full restore became available. After 48 hours I was offered a copy of all the files but not the database that was still being worked on. Having requested the raw files and a few other relevant index files, from the mysql folder, I was able to restore my database within an hour. To date I've had no explanation why I was able to recover it within an hour and Webhost technical staff still have been unable to restore it! For others without the technical knowledge I have, they may well still be waiting for the head scratchers to sort it. I have moved many clients and friends to this company. They are very helpful whatever your problem and their 24/7 online support is the best I have ever encountered in my 24 years experience with internet hosting companies. No hidden costs and extremely good value for money. I simply cannot recommend this company and their staff highly enough.
I've used this service for a couple of years and the cost was pretty good and for the first year I had no real complaints; sure I had a few issues but they were resolved by the technical support and to be fair their support was always quick. However in the second year I got told to remove all my old emails as they were not a storage facility and that the SSD's didn't like lots of old data. The email was a bit harsh and seemed unfair as I wasn't over my storage limit and just becasue they changed their original terms and conditions I was being forced to delete my emails. So I did do this (which was quite theraputic) but I also then noticed how slow my website was to load and edit. When I got them to check this they said it was fine their end. I had several people check who agreed it was painfully slow. They refused to agree so I moved to another service provider and I'm happy to say that the speed is now how I would expect it and I also confirmed with a few suppliers whilst getting quotes that I wasn't going ot have problems with old emails and SSD's and they all confirmed that wasn't an issue. So it seems they have got really picky on their T&C's (and updateing them) and the slowness is a major issue.
I have been using WebHostUk for a number of years as a LinuxSilver account reseller. During this time, I have needed to request support on many occasions. I have always had a rapid response on the Chat line, and without exception I have received efficient, high quality help - at any time of day or night. This has included courtesy when one or more of my sites have been hacked and misused, with sensible advice about getting back up and running. When there have been system updates, I have been advised in plenty of time. As a person without a great deal of coding experience, I have been treated with patience and the things that I need to understand have been explained to me. From time to time I have looked at other UK hosts to check UK Web Host's competitiveness, and each time I have decided that these guys offer top value for my hosting money. Keep up the great work!
WebHostUK came to the rescue, and offered to sponsor/host for free as a website for a small charity. The transition has been pretty smooth, and any difficulties soon overcome using their 24/7 chatroom support. Upload via FTP smooth, download speeds seem pretty snappy, reliability so good so far (nearly 6 months now). Possibility of using more features than were available with old ISP webspace… something to explore, but have confidence if I struggle their chatroom will be invaluable. There is some small advertising requested in exchange for hosting free, but these can be integrated relatively unobtrusively while still in a relatively prominent position, and are fair exchange for the service received. I think you can even earn from any referrals if set up as an affiliate… on my todo list, but I'm happy for the time being to promote without receiving anything more than the web hosting.
I needed to renew our domain name for another year but wasn't sure if WebHost were the hosts. Rachel Davies from Tech Support was excellent as although the domain name didn't show up in the service panel of the support email address it did show up in the manager account. She checked the renewal for me, then promptly raised an invoice for me to renew and gave us a discount for doing it! . She was very patient and polite and everything was sorted out very quickly. Great support, no hassle. Great service. !
I have used Webhost UK for many years now and for good reason. They always fix an issue which invariably was nothing to do with what I initially thought the problem was. George in the Technical department is always helpful and he consistently fixes issues which arise very promptly. Today he found a problem with my Wordpress site which I would never have been able to know about! These guys are why I use Webhost for my hosting. 10/10.
I had a hosting package with Webhost and one with another company. I decided to consolidate everything to Webhost - the service is always so much better, and the value is much better too. I surveyed loads of reseller accounts and have experience of other reseller accounts working for different organisations, and whilst the Silver Reseller account is comparable with the other host, the Bronze is going to supply my needs, is half the price and the service is 20 times better than the other host. The online technical chat - George - sorted out the conversion - posted me the invoice - which I paid - pulled the files over, and set up the control panels etc within 5 minutes really. George also walked me through entering the namerserver info into the other host for my parked domains and with various other issues over the course of an hour, despite the fact that the main nub of the job was done in first few minutes. So great stuff. Great value. Also the hosting allows for cpanel and wmh panel access, which is very handy. My previous host didn't really allow for that despite having an unlimited package and costing more.
