Avoid at all costs, terrible service, left many areas unclean, the deep carpet clean was a joke and bare looked as if they have vacuumed let alone wet cleaned. Ended up being charged £360 by the landlord because of the poor service delivered by Happy (ironic) house cleaning. Knowing this was a checkout clean they waiting to offer to return to correct it after we had already left the property and offered a £15 refund (when the total cost was £300).
Thank you Happy House. You did a great job at my flat today. Recommended for move out cleaning.
I had booked this service for an end of tenancy clean on a studio flat. Do NOT BOOK THEM. They were very unprofessional when it came to handling the clean. 2 areas of the flat were completely missed and when I contacted them to report this they had said that the guarantee was void and they would not be returning. Even when I mentioned that I am not requesting a 're-clean' I am requesting for them to clean something they missed, it did not change their response. The state of how they had left a shower head and the bathroom counter is shown in the images. After contacting their customer care by email they said they would not be sending someone out, and tried to argue that the guarantee was voided because of the bath tub having limescale. To which I acknowledged that the bath tub did have limescale - but that should not warrant the guarantee being void for the WHOLE ROOM. After some back and forth they offered a £10 refund (out of the £104 I had paid for a substandard clean). I agreed to the refund to close the matter. I later receive an email saying that they will not refund me unless I take my negative review down. I agreed to take the review down after the refund was processed. I then receive a call from an extremely rude and arrogant lady from their customer support berating me, saying that I am lying and that they will not offer a refund unless the negative review (that ACCURATELY reflects their cleaning) is taken down. There was a lot of back and forth with her refusing to listen to me and talking over me. At one point I had enough and told them they can keep their £10 as it is not worth my time arguing over the phone with a rude representative that does not want to listen to anything I have to say. In final, DO NOT book with them. Their cleaner was very kind and polite and i'm sure he missed these areas by mistake, but their customer service team is ABYSMAL, RUDE, and refuses to listen. I have never dealt with such a bad customer experience, people that refuse to rectify a mistake. .Moreexpand_more
Worst experience I've eve had with a cleanin company. 2 hours late, dropped the gaurentee over a single light bulb not working when there were plenty of lamps that could've provided the necessary light. Agency now wants £250 to actually get it cleaned - and fair enough, they did a terrible, terrible job. Then to top it off they tried to bribe me into change my Google review from negative to positive for £20. Save yourself the time and money!
AWFUL! Not a good experience. Firstly, the guy was 30 minutes late. Walked straight in, didn’t offer to take his shoes off and walked straight upstairs through the property. He proceeded to walk through the property and took loads of pictures. Then they asked for extra money for an extra “landing” and “hallway”. Honestly we are talking £50 for 2m squared in total. When some of the bedrooms were already tiny so it wasn’t like it couldn’t have been factored in. The pricing just isn’t transparent and is a total rip off. It’s a Victorian house and so has really small hallways with one step separating them - these all count as separate landings / hallways. I read some reviews below after when the same thing happened. Then refused to leave the property and tried to charge us 30% cancellation fee. We ended up paying extra. The job was £300 and took 1hour !). You have to pay this upfront too - I’ve never had a company make you do that before and knowing the job was so bad, we should have insisted that they leave after the initial experience. They were also supposed to clean the mattresses both sides and only did 1 both sides. There are still stains on the mattresses too when their site claims to remove everything. It wasn’t like it was wine or anything, they just rushed and couldn’t be bothered - that was clear. Again, a five bedroom house, 3 mattresses and an armchair in 1 hour. I’m not an expert but you couldn’t even Hoover the place in that time. Wouldn’t recommend at all. The company responded offering me a £25 refund or for someone to come back to the property and redo the poor work. Because of this experience we didn’t want the work redone so asked for the £25. Subsequently after reading the review they refused to give me the £25 unless I changed the review. I would rather lose the money than not tell the truth.Moreexpand_more
Used this company for an end of tenancy clean. A terrible service, the flat didn't even look as though it had been cleaned, not even vacuumed. When we complained and provided pictures and videos we were told this was not enough evidence. AVOID!
Not professional, typical "middle man" company that takes 300% commission to send in single £15 an hour cleaner. Avoid.
It is the first time of dealing with Happy house company. The team was very thorough and professional. Our house looks clean and refreshed. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent carpet cleaning service - friendly, professional and thorough. Our two bedroom flat is spotless with great attention to detail. We were so impressed with the results. Would definitely recommend the happy house.
We have had 5 visits already of Happy house staff and we are really satisfied with the service they have provided. Their cleaners are really professional, they go very much into the detail and the quality of the cleanings is to the highest standard. Will keep using it!
Great cleaning service provided by the team from the happy house company. The job has booked with less than 24 notice and has been provided on time next day morning.
We have recently used the service. We had hired a group of cleaners to clean our new flat before we moved in. Once we moved in I noticed that the windows and the carpet , the extractor hood and other things were cleaned properly but I can’t say the same about the whole flat. It was not cleaned thoroughly as I would expect it to be cleaned. There was some dirt at the bottom of our kitchen furniture. It seems like the cleaners didn’t bother to clean hard -to-reach parts like the bottoms of furniture, around the kitchen knobs etc We paid 218£ for the whole flat to be cleaned considering the fact that it was almost empty and had no furniture except the fitted kitchen when the cleaners were there. I know it took the cleaners around two hours to do the flat which is really fast but I would rather them spend more time paying more attention to details than do it that quickly and go. I’m not sure if we will use the service again.
DO NOT USE THE HAPPY HOUSE CLEANING COMPANY. This is an honest account of our experience using The Happy House Cleaning Company (THHCC) to provide an end-of-tenancy cleaning service. It has been an incredibly stressful time due to their terrible service and subsequent response that has bordered on intimidatory. The Clean. The clean was originally scheduled for 08:00 on the 5th August 2019. At very late notice, we received a call from THHCC to postpone the clean until 17:00 which meant we then had to postpone our ‘check-out’ from the property. The cleaners eventually finished at 21:30 but exited the property so quickly I did not have chance to properly inspect their work. They also had English language skills that were limited to the point where sign language was our only form of communication, so I doubt they would have acted on any concerns had I had the time to point them out. When the check-out clerk conducted their checks the phrase "requires cleaning" was mentioned 22 times. The words "grubby" and "dusty" were mentioned 14 and 13 times respectively. As a result, we were charged £145 for a professional to re-clean the property. Moreover, I have time-stamped photographic evidence of extensive silvering damage to the bath taps caused by the cleaning agents used. We were charged £140 towards the replacement of the taps. The cleaning agent used inside the washing machine caused rust damage to the point that the landlord had to replace the machine; we were charged a contribution of £50. We contacted THHCC to re-clean the property as per their guarantee. However, we cancelled this clean after reading other reviews commenting on intimidation/insults by their cleaners to the customer. Furthermore, the silvering and rusting they caused were irreversible so there was little point in them returning. Including the initial fee paid to THHCC the total amount we have lost as a result of their employment is £449. The Response. We contacted THHCC on 17th August when it became clear that our previous landlord was deducting the above charges from our deposit. Their initial response was to deny that any of their cleaning products were capable of causing the damage to the taps/washing machine, and that because we declined their re-clean service they were no longer liable. Unless they had a degree in Chemistry it was not clear how they knew their detergents, when used in combination, were unable to cause the damage. I pressed the issue further and they requested copies of the inventory report and the invoice for the taps, which we provided. The invoice was for the installation of the taps that were damaged as the landlord had yet to have them replaced. THHCC refused to accept the invoice despite it being used by the landlord to estimate the cost of the replacement taps. They then became fixated on the identity of the individual that conducted the re-clean on behalf of the letting agent. Some amateur investigative work they did on netmums found a person with the same name as the re-cleaner with a similar telephone number who worked in the cosmetics industry. THHCC concluded that our letting agent (one of the largest in the UK) had stolen this woman’s details and changed them slightly “in complete valuation [sic of her civil rights”. This was a baffling response, but also completely irrelevant. They were claiming the damage had been caused by this imaginary person, even though I had a time-stamped photo from the day after THHCC visited the property, and before the re-clean had been conducted. After we responded to point out their lack of logic, they offered us an insulting £20 refund based on the “fictive [sic” invoices we provided. At this point we sought legal advice. Our solicitors wrote to THHCC on 12th September 2019. In return, they received an email with the same nonsense outlined above with an additional threat that they would report us to the police if we did not stop contacting them to claim compensation. We were frankly appalled. However, to pursue our claim further would have meant spending additional money in the small claims court. With the mental toll we had incurred so far we decided against this option. I am sure they will respond to this review with the same illogical arguments they have made all the way through this experience. Please do not be fooled. We have no reason to take time out of our day to write this review other than to warn others. We have never written a negative review in the past but felt compelled to do so. THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL THOSE THAT ARE CONSIDERING USING THE HAPPY HOUSE CLEANING COMPANY. THEY MAY APPEAR TO BE THE CHEAPEST OPTION BUT THERE IS A REASON FOR THIS. THEIR SERVICE IS AWFUL. IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK OF EVER ENGAGING WITH THIS COMPANY FOR THE SAKE OF SAVING A FEW POUNDS UP-FRONT. .Moreexpand_more
Had a great experience with our move in clean, Petya's team was very thorough. They were efficient and were happy to work with me with regard to how I wanted particular items or areas addressed. Very pleased with my experience!
Happy House were brilliant. They got make-up marks out of our carpet in the office which have been there for months. I would highly recommend this company.
