After a very good and long standing service from sunny rain, I was appointed a new cleaner (new member of staff) and in the few weeks she came to our house we noticed a sum of cash missing. After over 15 years of having domestic cleaning services, it's the first time we've ever experienced anything like this. Initially, sunny rain were very apologetic and offered to reimburse us the missing cash, it turned out that no background checks were done by sunny rain, just references provided by the employee! However, a few days later I received an email terminating our business suggesting that I had made false accusations. With no background checks, you just don't know who's wondering around your home and there's absolutely nothing you can do when a company treats you with such contempt. Very disappointing Sunny RainIt's only fair you have your say but it's really important for a cleaning company to be honest and trust worthy and what you have said below is a distortion of the truth, I should have mentioned that your cleaner disconnected my shower pipe work twice and flooded the kitchen below, we treated this as an accident and were more than reasonable, didn't ask for any compensation whatsoever, but we draw the line at theft, and we agreed that reporting to the police is difficult because we don't work with CCTV's all over the house because we work on trust, how do you have hard evidence other than being absolutely sure that no one! Else had entered the property, your examples are simply untrue. I'm very disappointed to have been robbed in my own home and while I don't expect to get the money back, I have taken the decision to report it to the police in the best interest of others.
Response : Theft is a serious accusation. On the date in question your ‘new review’ said we have never let you down. Then when you didn’t like the reply…Firstly, background checks ARE carried out on ALL staff, including DBS, proof of identity, right to work etc. Secondly, at no point was it stated that the problem was yourself in the statement you were sent. A member of Sunny Rain questioned the cleaner regarding your accusation. There was no sign of guilt during this and so no judgement of guilt could be made by us.
Part of your reply to this statement was ‘Your strategy in terms of looking for signs of guilt is floored. You have spoken to ‘us’ and spoken to ‘the cleaner’ and concluded that the problem is me’. To make a judgement based on your allegation alone, when her record with us to date is impeccable and there is nothing but client satisfaction (except in your case), would be wrong. Sunny Rain did indeed decide that the cleaner is innocent in this instance (until proven guilty) and stand by her as her employer. You stated over the phone that you could not be 100% sure when the money was last seen. Your accusation of ‘it can only be her’ was disputed because at least five people excluding yourself, potentially had access to your property over the last few weeks, which could possibly eliminate the cleaner in question. Thirdly, indeed it was promised that the sum of money would be repaid, even though you could not be sure how much it was. This was investigated by us, as promised and you were advised on the telephone before this investigation took place to report it to the police, but you did not?Theft is a serious accusation and your word against another’s is not fact or evidence. You did not report this to the police?Moreexpand_more
