Mrs S. Moodie BSc (Hons) MChS, qualified from Queen Margaret University and has worked in both the NHS and Private Practice before setting up her own practice called Sole To Soul in Dalgety Bay. We are members of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (MChS) and Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) which is the regulating body.

People often ask what the difference between a Chiropodist and Podiatrist is! The truth is that there is no difference. The name change occured in 1993 from Chiropodist to Podiatrist due to the fact that Chiropody was only recognised in the UK, whereas, Podiatry is internationally recognised.

Do you know how many bones are in the foot? Most people think there are 26, but, the correct answer is actually 28, which include the sesamoid bones that sit at the base of the big toe within a tendon. There are also 33 joints and many muscles, tendons and ligaments. It is therefore no surprise that problems can arise.
