Sit -4 U

Chris Mawson (Sit 4 U) house and cat sat for us for 5 days in Oct 2014. We were delighted with the service we received and felt more than confident leaving our house and elderly cat in her care. Chris visited us a couple of days beforehand to go through everything as this was her first time with us, but in future, this pre-sit visit will not be necessary. She took comprehensive notes to ensure she was familiar with all the workings of the house and our cat's routine and preferences. Chris kept us updated while we were away, so we did not have to worry about anything. I am confident that if an 'emergency' had arisen, Chris would have been able to cope perfectly well. On our return, the house was spotless and the bedding had been laundered. Initially, before the sit, we thought that this service was a little pricey for one low maintenance cat. However, on reflection, it really does represent excellent value for money. We were able to go away feeling happy that our precious cat and house were in good hands. Unlike previous sitters, we did not have to supply food, which was a relief as its hard to shop for somebody you don't even know! Chris was more than happy to carry out routine household tasks, gardening etc, although this was not necessary for us on this occasion (in the summer however, the watering alone is a lengthy task). I guess if you have more pets, it becomes even better value!Overall, we were delighted and plan to use the service again in the future. Chris took fabulous care of our house and pets while we were away for 10 days. She was extremely thorough in the checklist completed prior to our departure and I felt she could have coped with any situation. Our pets were totally at ease with her and recognised her as a cat and dog lover instantly. Our dog (whippet) loved going on long walks and our cat (burmese) enjoyed the attention he got too. We returned to a spotless house and Chris even assisted with taking my son to the orthodontist when I came down with "Bali Belly" on my return. This was certainly above and beyond the call of duty, but was appreciated greatly. I would confidently recommend Chris to anyone and was thrilled with her professional and expert service. THANKS :).

We've used Chris twice now, once just for one day as we don't live too far away from her, and once for longer. She visited to check us out (! ) complete with a checklist and went through all our needs in detail. She is friendly, efficient and our dog loves her. I am more than happy to trust my home and my dog to her or any of her family/team.

Exceptionally professional approach to pet and house sitting. A very detailed list of issues that need to be addressed when sitting is ticked off one by one until sitter and owner are happy they covered all the angles, from pet preferences, hazards and where to find a replacement light bulb. The sitter was extremely sympathetic to our dog and african grey parrot, both animals were in a great physical and mental state when we returned. Communication skills of the sitter are just right, not a daily "pestering" while we were on holidays, however frequent enough up-dates so we did not have any worries. We were told she´d still be out with our dog the time we planned to return and no doubt, our dog come back after a 3 hour walk, gave us a quick hello and lick, had some water and snoozed off! Food and drink was ready for our return and the house very clean and tidy. The sitter had put a vase with some wild flowers out to greet us back and inadvertantly could be accused of money laundring! She´d used a vase with a few foreign notes in and filled it with water (she certainly doesn´t stick her nose into things;)), we had such a laugh when we discovered it. The service comes equipped with GPS which gives peace of mind as we agreed that in the eventuality of a pet needing the vet´s, she´d take them urgently and to avoid panic, the GPS would guide her there. Particularly important as the sit was in Spain so it would avoid language problems and save time in the event. The sitter is used to dealing with people and pets over decades and it shows in the way she interacts with either. Both mentally and physically more than agile and self-sufficient, we´d recommend the sitter to anyone. We think she managed our out in the sticks, no mobile phone coverage, no civilisation house and pet sit to great satisfaction. Looking forward to employing her again! We have had several house sitters over the years and I have to say that Chris was the best value for money of them all. Our dog went everywhere with her and loved all the attention. The house was also well looked after. We would have her back again any time.

Couldn't have asked for a better service, Chris took great care of our cats and aquarium for 6 weeks. The house was spotless when we returned. We have already asked her to come back and sit for us again. She was very well prepared and enthusiastic.

Our two dogs were more than well cared for, our home was well looked after. Would definitely use these services in the future without hesitation. Honest, reliable and trustworthy.

They arrived on time and fit into our environment perfectly. I hope that any other people who house sit for us does a job half as good as Sit-4u.
