Silverdale Swim Schools

Without doubt, the best swim school we've been to. My 8-year old son and 5-year old daughter have just started their first block of lessons and - despite requiring a lot of cajoling and bribery to even get them into the pool - they now look forward to them every week. Within a short period of time, they have both made huge progress and gained a lot of confidence in the water. Lessons are taught in small groups, each child with their own teacher(! ), which means they get one-on-one attention while at the same time benefiting from seeing how it's done from their classmates. The swim teachers are very good with children and make lessons fun for them, and everything is very well organised with friendly staff outside the pool helping you with anything you might need. Trevor and Sue and their team provide an excellent service which I can highly recommend.

My daughter has been having lessons with SSS for the past year and her technique has improved substantially. We are delighted with the service and quality of teaching provided by SSS, the pupil/teacher ratio remarkable and excellent value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend SSS to any parent requiring swimming lessons for their child.

My son has been learning to swimming with SSS since September 2015. He loves it. SSS are brilliant. There make swimming lesson fun, they are always encouraging, and keeping a constant check when children are ready for awards or move up a class. I consider it very good value for money. It is well organised. And friendly. There standards are as high as mine. I recommend everyone should use SSS. There is no other Swimming school worth considering.

My son had a bad experience when he last had lessons with a different company and since then has not had lessons, apart from coming swimming with me and when on holiday that is the only swimming he did. I had heard about Silverdale swimming school from another parent at my son's school and decided to try it. My son was not sure at first as he didn't really want to have lessons but after the first one he absolutely loves going and can't wait for the following week. I would recommend Silverdale swimming school to anyone which I have and most of the people I have spoken are already with them they are very attentive, and there is no hanging around in the pool waiting for the child to finish they are busy all the time. My son is getting better each week and most importantly is really enjoying his swimming.

My two daughter's have been attending suss for over a year. My husband and I have been very impressed with how much progress they have made, both with their swimming ability and their confidence. The swimming instructors are patient, professional and personable. The lessons are well structured and also fun. There is a good staff to children ratio. Assessment of the children is ongoing allowing children to be taught accordingly. The communication with Trevor and Sue is excellent and they are extremely helpful. Both girls really enjoy their lessons.

My daughter has been going to Silverdale Swim School for over a year now and we feel it's been a wonderful experience for her, not just for learning a skill but also as a boost to her confidence. The teaching is excellent, very personalised and based on positive teaching. I would highly recommend and as soon as our little boy is old enough, he will be going to the school.

My 12 year old daughter has just started with SSS and whilst she was very nervous and embarrassed that she could not swim she has been welcomed with open arms and reassured throughout her lessons. She is coming on leaps and bounds only after three lessons. This has been down to the commitment of the staff and the professionalism shown at all times. This is definitely the school to be with….

Very happy with silverdale, my daughter always looks forward to her weekly lessons, and she has progressed very well. Staff to pupil ratio is always very good - highly reccomended.

I am very impressed with Silverdale my son has been going for the last 2 years and he has progressed so well. He has great confidence in the water, the teachers are always praising him and will push him to do more which has proven to be a great success as my son has now moved up 3groups. My children have been using SSS since 2009-ish. We did change to an alternative swim school at one point, as the journey felt a little too far at the time. However we switched back as I quickly realised that they were not making the same kind of progress or having the same kind of individual attention. Aside from the absolute efficiency of the service they provide, Silverdale is unique in the child/adult ratio, there are very often 3 or more instructors, 2 or more in the water, one directing the session - certainly at the lower levels, less crucial at the higher proficiency. They are polite, friendly, always on time, very well organised and constantly monitoring each childs progress. I feel both my children are progressing well into confident swimmers. What more could you ask for?

My daughter started lessons with SSS having previously attended lessons elsewhere. I have found the quality of teaching so much better with the additional staffing levels meaning all children have the attention and guidance they need. The progress made in a short time has been amazing and such a confidence booster for her. The service and communication from staff makes it hassle free and we pay less per term than at our previous setting.

Both my children were nervous and frightened to learn to swim but since joining Silverdale swim school they both love swimming! I'm so pleased with the way they are taught very professional and happy. I feel this makes a big difference to my children learning. Great swim school. Excellent ratio of staff to students. Both my daughters have come on leaps and bounds in the short time they have been with Silverdale. I cannot recommend them enough.

Having recently moved to the area and needing to find new swimming lessons for my youngest daughter, I thought I would give Silverdale Swim School a go having looked at their website and read other reviews, neither of which could have prepared me for what we found when we arrived for our free taster session: the staff were aware my daughter was trying out that day and Sue was there to meet us. From the little information I had given her over the telephone about my daughter's ability, Sue had placed her in a class that suited her current needs and will help her progress to the next level. With a swimming teacher per class on the poolside and three additional helpers in the water assisting the children, my daughter can only improve her swimming and quickly. Sue is permanently on the poolside overseeing all the classes and is very fast to pick up on any additional support she is able to give to individual children during the lessons. My daughter has had swimming lessons since she was a baby and never before has she come out of a class and said "that was great! " - she did on this occasion and cannot wait to go back. My eldest daughter was herself so impressed that on being asked if she wanted to join a class, she jumped at the chance and back we went a couple of days later to experience the same high level of organisation, experience and support for her taster lesson. A suitable class was chosen and tried out, which will enable her to develop her swimming techniques. Again, like my youngest daughter, she was very happy at the end and feels the lessons will be extremely beneficial. Having previously paid a similar amount for council run lessons with only a teacher on the poolside, I am very impressed with the value for money I am getting from Silverdale. Silverdale is a highly professional swimming school with excellent communication and extremely helpful and efficient staff. All the teachers are friendly, skilful and encouraging, understanding how to work with children to help them reach their full potential. I am very proud of my daughters progress and confidence in the water and recommend the school to anyone and everyone.

Very professionally run swimming school, extremely happy with how quickly and easily my son is picking up swimming and how varied the lessons are, he dreaded the thought of lessons when I told him I had booked them but absolutely loves going now.
