SHIATSU MASSAGE is a deeply relaxing, holistic form of bodywork originating in Japan. The receiver wears loose clothing throughout the treatment and no oils are used. The therapeutic treatment supports and strengthens the natural ability of our body, mind and emotions to heal and rebalance.
SHIATSU SPACE offers Zen Shiatsu and Seated Acupressure Shiatsu.
Zen Shiatsu is a full body treatment where the receiver lays on a futon either on their back, side or front. Supportive cushions may be used.
Seated Acupressure Shiatsu is a perfect solution for those wanting to receive Shiatsu in the workplace, at events or simply because you prefer the seated option. The focus of the treatment is on the upper body.
In addition to treating specific conditions, receiving Shiatsu is also an effective way to maintain and promote good health.
Shiatsu may help to alleviate a variety of conditions including:
- backache - shoulder and neck pain- general muscular tensions- sports related issues - headaches- digestive problems - low energy levels - insomnia- anxiety- mood swings - PMT- lethargy - lack of focus and feeling 'pulled in all directions'.
Treatments vary according to an individual's needs but the main features are:
- receiver wears loose clothing during treatment
- relaxed perpendicular pressure along energy channels and acupuncture and stress release points
- gentle stretching to stimulate circulation and encourage the release of tensions.
At the end of a Shiatsu session, you may feel relaxed and invigorated as deep seated physical and emotional tensions are released.
