I am a man in my mid 20s who was struggling with severe procrastination where I was addicted to 'doom scrolling' and video games. On some days, I had a screen time of 6 hours consuming mindless entertainment whilst ignoring chores. Like others, I was initially skeptical of the process however very quickly recognised the true power of hypnotherapy. Sherwin granted me the strength to tackle my addictions and then take a look at my self esteem, childhood trauma and brain fog. In a few short sessions, the transformation has been remarkable, I very rarely procrastinate and have a lot more energy for day to day activities. I am able to help others who are struggling with life's burdens and tackle personal challenges head on. This behaviour has been noted by my manager who has praised my new work ethic. I'd like to thank Sherwin for helping me and so many others who have benefitted greatly from his services.
I went to Sherwin with multiple issues including severe anxiety, depression, claustrophobia, social anxiety, travelling via trains, tubes, aeroplanes and motorways. I didn’t believe anything would work as I had already had years of lots of different therapy. Since having hypnotherapy with Sherwin all of my fears and phobias have massively improved and some gone! I never thought I would ever step foot on a plane but since seeing Sherwin I’ve successfully flown 4 times. I no longer struggle with daily debilitating anxiety and am looking forward to getting my life back on track and look forward to the future. Sherwin is not just a fantastic hypnotherapist but a kind and caring person who always made me feel comfortable. Couldn’t recommend Sherwin enough!
Sherwin really helped me deal with trauma that I had buried since I was a child as well as grief from my father's passing. I feel like a new man and that a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Sherwin was very intelligent, knowledgeable and professional and I have recommended friends and family to see him. At first I was sceptical of hypnotherapy and I didn't think it would work but I am very happy to be proved wrong.
Before Sherwin I was very sceptical of hypnotherapy as I usually feel uncomfortable speaking about my feelings and thought my problems were insignificant, although impacting my daily life. However, from the first session I found Sherwin really easy to open up to and to explain the issues I was experiencing. Through going to see Sherwin about exam stresses, anxiety and the need to control most situations, he was able to uncover other things that I didn’t realise were effecting me. Through having a few sessions it was great for Sherwin to help rationalise situations and create tools and techniques that can be used in overwhelming situations. Having referred multiple friends and family members to Sherwin, I could not recommend him enough.
I have always been sceptical about hypnotherapy, but after I saw the difference in my daughter from seeing Sherwin, I decided to give it a go. He helped me deal with problems I was having around stress and after a few sessions I noticed a remarkable improvement. His techniques have not only helped me manage daily stresses more effectively, but have also taught me how to maintain a calm and focused mindset. For anyone struggling with stress or anxiety, I highly recommend Sherwin, he has been a great help.
My husband passed away when our children were 4 and 7 years old. Little did I realize that the trauma of our loss would linger for. Decades to come. As a mom I thought that trying to get some normalcy in our lives was. Most important. I tried to make life cheery and just carry on. However if I had known better and spent time in grief therapy, our. Coping skills may have been stronger. For the last 2 decades my children and I have sunk into chronic. Anxiety and depression. Each of us have been on medication, that is until Sherwin came into our lives. We live in Niagara Falls Canada and via Whats App or Facebook have.Received weekly therapy sessions with Sherwin. My son who was most heavily medicated, is now medication free and.Learning how to live in a clearer, less fuzzy or sedated way. Sherwin’s hypnotherapy sessions have helped us beyond belief. His.Patience, kindness and compassion has helped us get back on track. We cannot be more grateful.Moreexpand_more
I was referred to Sherwin when some of my mental health issues became really problematic to daily life. I was struggling with anxiety, stress and overthinking. Sherwin instantly made me feel comfortable and relaxed in discussing my issues and I felt instant change after the first session. After 6 sessions, I no longer spend my days worrying about things that are out of my control, I have gained my confidence that was lost due to issues years ago. Sherwin has also given me a new outlook into my skin issues (eczema) and how I can tackle this going forward and my skin has seen a MASSIVE improvement since seeing him. Anyone struggling with ANY issues at all should enquire about hypnotherapy with Sherwin. Couldn't fault him in any way.
Being a mom for second time had been quite challenging for me. Sleepless nights, stress, mom guilt, anxiety, tiredness, panic attacks. This is not what you are expecting to feel. Unfortunately these days a lot of people, not just moms, have been going through the same like me. I was lucky to find out about Sherwin and his techniques. Sherwin missions is to help people. He helped me overcome my fears and anxiety, made me enjoy motherhood again. If you suffer, don't wait. Time is precious. I highly recommend Sherwin. .
I reached out to Sherwin due to suffering with anxiety, panic attacks and low self esteem. I felt on edge, fearful of certain situations and would get myself very worked up over things that were out of my control. One day it all got on top of me and had a very emotional breakdown at work, which was when one of my colleagues mentioned Hypnotherapy. I had heard of it before and it always intrigued me, so I thought I would try it. I called Sherwin that night in an emotional state, as soon as I come off the phone with Sherwin I felt calm and assured that I was doing the right thing and going to feel better. On that phone call Sherwin taught me some breathing techniques which automatically put me at ease and I still do now on a daily basis. I had virtual sessions via FaceTime as I don’t live nearby. After each session with Sherwin I noticed differences in the way I was thinking, I was thinking more positive, I was dealing with stressful situations in a more calmer manner and I started to feel less fearful and more excited about life. I have now finished my sessions, I had 5/6 in total and I now feel great. I can’t thank Sherwin enough for this, my whole perspective on life has changed and I would recommend him to anyone!Moreexpand_more
My wife have turned to Sherwin for help with getting through complex problems, but they weren't to him no more than four sessions took the weight off our shoulders and made us more prepared to make problems as minimal that coping is possible. We can't thank him enough.
I have been suffering with depression and anxiety for over 15 years, taking antidepressants and never thought I would get of my tablets after 10 years of being reliant. My partner suggested sherwin to help me and I will never look back, it’s been 9 months no tablets, less panic attacks and I just feel like a different person. I think so differently when it comes to situations and try and see the positive no matter how bad. I feel so much happier and can finally live my life without letting the past get in the way. I would highly recommend sherwin, what a kind, helpful, genuine man he is. .
My name is Daren, age 54, nearly died of covid last year. Luckily the wonderful nhs saved my life. However although wonderfully grateful to be alive I was struggling with what I know now was ptsd. Was recommended to Sherwin through a customer of mine and within five sessions with him my whole outlook on life has completely changed and whenever I have a small health issue now I’m not automatically thinking the worst. Can’t recommend Sherwin highly enough.
I have been struggling for around 6 years with bulimic tendencies, coupled with low self-esteem and confidence issues surrounding my body and appearance. I previously used counselling services which upon evaluation, didn't really make me feel much better. A close friend of mine had recommended Sherwin's hypnotherapy services to me a couple months prior and I decided to try it out. I had sessions with Sherwin online through Zoom which despite not being face-to-face, it still felt very comfortable and we could still converse with ease. I think it also helped as you were doing the sessions in the comfort of your own bedroom, which made the process less nerve-racking. Actively seeking help for wanting to fix an issue is always a big step forward, and I am so pleased to say that Sherwin really helped my issues and my whole way of thinking about myself. I have now gone the longest period in years without purging, which I thought was not possible, all thanks to Sherwin's help and I would encourage anyone with similar issues to give hypnotherapy a go!
About a month ago I had finished some sessions with Sherwin because I needed some help with managing my weight loss. Prior to these sessions (in 2016), I had seen him for my anxiety so when I knew he looked into weight loss, I knew I had to ask him for help again. I was really struggling with my relationship with my food and struggled losing weight since being at University. Since seeing Sherwin I have discovered a new relationship with my food and have started to create new habits, such as eating slower and actually focussing on what I am eating. I have also lost some weight, which I am more than happy with! He also helped me regain my confidence, which I have been missing for a while so I've been really feeling great recently. I really want to thank Sherwin for his big help over the years, I thoroughly recommend!
I was recommended by a friend who Sherwin had helped. The reason I wanted some help was based on using cocaine (after drinking alcohol), depression and an addiction to diazepam. The cocaine use was something I’d been doing for about 20 years and I had tried 4-5 therapies over 3 or 4 years prior including a one on Harley Street who charged me £250 for a single session. After 6 or 7 sessions with Sherwin both in person initially and then over facetime, I had finally managed to stop taking cocaine. I cant actually remember a time in roughly 20 years when I was able to have a drink without taking cocaine afterwards. Almost in parallel to this but also partly as a result my outlook began to change and I gradually began to reduce the dosage of the diazepam. At its peak my self prescribed dosage was about 100mg per day. It took me about 3 months to come off as its extremely important that this is done gradually but once completed I gradually stopped taking the citalopram which is an anti depressant. I’d been taking diazepam and anti depressants for about 3 years before gradually but finally coming off them last summer. Having tried so many different “specialists” to stop before, there was obviously a part of me that wasn’t expecting the results I got, and this is clearly a natural expectation - particularly for someone who see’s the glass half empty. The sessions I did with Sherwin helped me stop taking cocaine and also stopped me feeling that I needed to take anti depressants and anti anxiety drugs just to get through a day at work. These sessions literally saved my relationship with my amazing Fiancé and also steadied me on the journey of being a father. I haven’t actually said this before but thanks so much Sherwin for all your help its simply turned my life around”.Thanks again.Moreexpand_more
I contacted Sherwin because he was recommended by a friend. I have suffered life long anxiety issues from childhood unhappiness. In truth, I didn’t know the exact cause of my misery because I had suppressed the memories. My anxieties were deeply entrenched in my thinking processes, in how I perceived the world and in my reactions to others. I was functioning from a place of fear. I have taken antidepressants and beta blockers on and off since I was 17 and I am now 63. I have also had counselling, but fundamentally nothing changed. I had never considered hypnotherapy and quite honestly didn’t think it would work. In the first few sessions with Sherwin I could feel myself trembling and my heart beating erratically. On some level I even fought the hypnotherapy process by not relaxing; but I stayed with it. It was after the fifth session that real change occurred. I was out walking when memories of the past came back. I don’t think I will ever forget the relief, even joy, when I recognised the cause of my unhappiness. For a week after that I went through a roller-coaster of emotions; anger, acceptance, relief, blame, forgiveness - I went round in circles until finally I felt a calmness. The churning in my stomach stopped. I saw Sherwin twice more after that and I know that he has given me the opportunity and the tools to embark on a new life. A life based on an understanding of myself and others and a life that is not governed by apprehension. I am no longer a victim of my past. I have a choice: I can mentally regurgitate my past pain or I can choose to think about all the positives in my life. I now recognise the negative thought patterns that I was trapped in and when they occur (and quite honestly that is less and less now) I can redirect them to a positive, happy path. I am not saying that life is going to be wonderful every day, but I have the tools to deal with issues in a calm and thoughtful way. I feel free. Thank you Sherwin.Moreexpand_more
Sherwin Bodsworth. Clinical Hypnotherapist. Several months ago, I was quite unwell. My day would start early, around 6. 00am. I would regain consciousness from a fitful sleep, to be greeted by pillowcase soaked in sweat, my body just like my bed, was cold and clammy. Breakfast consisted of two strong coffees accompanied by a few cigarettes and a large dose of ibuprofen; a cocktail taken to help alleviate the pounding headache and various other symptoms that attend an habitual hangover. My local supermarket is licensed to sell alcohol from 7. 00am. Every morning I would be outside waiting for the doors to open so I could buy two bottles of their cheapest white wine. I would drink the first bottle by mid-morning and then try to stretch out the second until mid-afternoon. By this time, I had lost count of how many cigarettes I had smoked, but after waiting for the morning staff shift to change at the local shop (so as not to be seen as the alcoholic I was) I would return and buy a half bottle of their own brand whiskey and, if necessary, more cigarettes. By mid-evening I was in a mild stupor and would pass out in front of the TV. This was my daily routine. And then the entire country went into lockdown. I first met Sherwin Bodsworth several years ago when I was living in Surrey. We had at the time discussed a course of treatment designed to stop me from smoking. (At this point the drinking had not taken a grip on my life. ) Being a strong minded individual my privately held contention was that hypnosis would never work on me. Sherwin advised two courses of action: give it a try and give it time. I gave it a try, but I didn’t give it time. Soon I was back to twenty a day and thus my self-defeating, strong minded, argument had won out. A few days into lockdown, Sherwin emailed me. He wanted to know how I was dealing with the ‘new normal’. I wrote back and we decided on a course of treatment using Face Time. I was unconvinced that hypno-therapy would ever make an impression on me, especially via a computer link, but decided to try again. This time I did give it time. I kept an open mind and for once did what I was told. The results were quite extraordinary. After several sessions spread over many weeks, Sherwin found a key to the locked door of my childhood mind. I walked through and the change was instant. I saw alcohol for what it was: a drug that taken in excess is damaging in the extreme to your physical and mental well-being. In effect I had been the victim of a con trick. I stopped drinking without any struggle. No physical urges no mental compulsions. I embarked upon a sensible diet and took up regular exercise. After two short months I had lost three stone in weight, regained my vitality and felt a new enthusiasm for life. Oh yes, the cigarettes. They form my next hurdle. I now only smoke one or two a day. I continue to work with Sherwin on this deep-rooted habit formed in my teenage years. I suspect that in the very near future, smoking will also be an addiction of the past. Sherwin Bodsworth is an extraordinarily gifted therapist. In a few short months he has changed my outlook on life from darkness to light. In the hands of a talented practitioner, hypno-therapy works. And you don’t need to be in the same room to ensure results. In fact, Face Time therapy is very effective. It’s simple to schedule, does not require any travelling and allows for treatment to take place in the comfort of your own home. So, in the words of Sherwin, give it a try, but also give it time. If you are considering seeing a hypnotherapist and aren’t sure about it, then I would ask you “What have you got to lose? ” You can go just for one session and see if it could be helpful for you. Sherwin is a very caring and thoughtful man who will set you at your ease. He has a lot of life experience and is very patient. He will listen to you as an individual and tailor sessions to help you. I went to Sherwin when an excessive workload led to stress and burnout for me which in turn worsened an existing condition of anxiety that I had. I was in a very low place when I went to him. There have been a number of people in my life who have and are helping me along a path to better mental wellbeing, but I can honestly say that Sherwin has changed my life. It will depend for everyone how their hypnotherapy sessions progress. For me personally I had some experiences from my childhood to work through and put to bed, a couple of things from my personal and adult life and then Sherwin helped build my self-esteem which had been at rock-bottom. I had some ideas about hypnotherapy before I tried it which were not at all accurate (e.G. Sherwin doesn’t have a swinging fob-watch! Not that he uses in sessions anyway…). I’ll try and describe it for you as best as I can. Being in a state of hypnosis is like that state between waking and sleeping and it can be very relaxing. You don’t lose control of yourself and you can come out of it at any time if you want to but because your brain is a little bit more “switched off” than usual it’s easier for you to access your thoughts, feelings, memories, underlying worries than it is in normal daily waking life. That means that it’s a more effective way of having therapy. I now think that hypnotherapy could be useful for so many different people. I ended up having quite a few sessions with Sherwin, and although the sessions weren’t super cheap to me (what service or item of quality is?) they were worth every single penny a hundred times over. Thank you Sherwin.Moreexpand_more
I had been hearing about Sherwin for years, through clients. People told me how he help them turn their lives around. So last October I decided it was time to rewatch out to him. As my life was gradually becoming more unmanageable. The pace of my life was ridiculous. I was burning the candle on both ends. I felt like I was on a hamster wheel, going nowhere fast. . I had no work life balance, I was exhausted, I wasn’t sleeping, I had lost weight, I felt like I was burning out. The simplest tasks were beginning to overwhelm me. So I reached out to Sherwin. He made me see that I was so caught up in the pace of life, I was in survival mode and I wasn’t looking after myself. I have to say it was the best decision I have made. He helped me recognise the issues that were causing me anxiety and stress. Using CBT and hypnotherapy ( which I was sceptical about) He helped me work through and deal with grief that I thought I had dealt with. Loss of my parents and my husband in my 20’s. That I had thought I had dealt with it all. But I hadn’t. After my first session I felt so much better. The hypnotherapy/ Deep Relaxation. Is how I would describe the hypnotherapy aspect of my therapy. . I felt refreshed, as if I had slept for a month. As each week went by I started to feel stronger. The panic attacks disappeared , I started to question my life and what was important to me. By Dec. I was feeling so much better. All the aspects of my life that caused me pain, I thought about from different perspective xx I felt positive and optimistic about life again and I began to explore and embrace all the opportunities available to me. I am pleased to say I have taken a huge leap of faith and changed my whole life around. With Sherwin's continued support, even after I have finished my therapy. For me seeing Sherwin has changed my life. I have recommended several people to him since and continue to do so. .Moreexpand_more
I have been having hypnotherapy from sherwin for 2 years now. As a conscientious 30 year old who had (and still is) been living and working in London for 9 years at the time, I started to loose my balance, and my way. It was coming out in ways that I couldn’t understand at the time. Sherwin helped Me understand me and what I need, and why I need it. He helped me understand that it’s ok to worry, and not succeed all the time. All of this understanding and self awareness has helped me so much. I speak in the past tense, but actually still call sherwin for treatments. He’s extremely loyal and caring and goes out of his way to make sure you are ok.
