About Shenyoga
Sophie Shenstone has been living yoga for over 25 years, teaching regular weekly classes in Bath, Uk for over 16 years, including popular Beginners Hatha courses, mixed level Hatha, Intermediate Hatha Breath Flow, as well as Pregnancy and Post Natal classes. Shenyoga is a form of flowing, breath-focus, Hatha yoga developed over the decades, starting initially with Integral Yoga training. Inspired by diverse trainings and teachers, and an insuppressible creativity, Sophie blends meditative flow with intuitive body work; a mix of core strength and dynamic flow, with passive, deeply releasing postures, finding the space to journey inward to the roots of yoga - understanding our true Nature.
As well as teaching regular weekly classes, Shenyoga offers full day retreats at countryside venues, and yoga holidays including a week long off-grid, glamping yoga adventure in the mountains of Portugal, staying in yurts and bell tents, with forest mediations, daily yoga, living simply in the lap of Nature. Check the website for further information on dates and prices.
Sophie Shenstone offers holistic intuitive massage treatments based on Shiatsu and Thai Yoga Massage, blended with deep tissue massage.
Each treatment is unique to the individual, using the 'listening' and 'tuning in' that comes from Shiatsu training, techniques including palming, rocking, proprioceptive play, stretching and rotation of limbs, movement of the body as well as massage strokes and breath work. Using meridians and pressure points to move energy, as well as working intuitively and physically into tight muscles, Sophie likes to blend the bodywork with yoga breath-awareness, taking you into a deeply meditative space while your body unwinds.
'Shenyoga and Massage' works at The Practice Rooms, 26, Upper Borough Walls, in central Bath, and various venues including The New Oriel Hall, Larkhall, Bath. Sophie is also an eco-friendly gardener and Environmental Artist, with a decade's experience designing and implementing living willow sculptures, mainly in schools. This includes living willow tunnels, arches, teepees, igloos, trellises, 'fedges', story domes, children's dens and play spaces, and living chairs. For information, quotes and possibilities, please contact Sophie, bearing in mind that the best time for creating structures is November to the end of February. Sophie is also available for living willow 'maintenance'.
Shenyoga is also available for Corporate events such as Hen Do yoga and massage, and yoga in the workplace for office staff.
