Highly recommended! I discovered Sahaja Yoga over 30 years ago and this is forever. Thanks to this natural meditation, you can regain complete balance and establish inner peace within you. This helps you to know yourself better, to build your self-confidence and personal values, and to be satisfied. It is lovely to meditate in Covent Garden. Everything is so welcoming, so relaxing. And so beneficial.
Sahaja Yoga Meditation has completely transformed my life. It has connected me to myself in a way I did not think was possible and has allowed me to achieve the peace, satisfaction and love I have always been yearning for. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in spirituality and finding purpose in their life. .
This is a cult, please simply Google before joining. Ex-members said that the organisation insists all family ties are broken and all communication with them cease, that crying children can be seen as being possessed by demons, that negative and positive vibrations need "clearing", and that being a member of the group is very expensive.
Sahaja yoga creates a profound shift in one's perception of what it means to be a good human being as it reveals one's own divine nature. With that one sees more clearly the attitudes and behaviour that we previously adopted that inhibited our divine nature. To establish this self-realisation takes humility and sincerity. The divine qualities come from our autonomous nervous system when our minds and hearts are free of the stress perpetuated by egotism and feelings of lack and inadequacy in our lives. True meditation is a very peaceful state of being in thoughtless awareness where thoughts of right or wrong that come from disturbed emotions stop completely and the emotions subside, leaving us feeling completely fulfilled in each present moment. With regular practice that state becomes our every day norm. Describing the benefits of that transformation does little justice to the actual experience. It is indescribably beautiful! The emphasis on following a guru disciple tradition is key in this regard because of the pedigree of the founder of the technique. Being a woman of high moral character who exhibits love as it should be, unconditional and with the purpose of empowering the disciple to become their own master and avoid the pitfalls of egotism, lust, greed, hatred, and jealousy etc, the tradition goes a long way towards enhancing one's self-knowledge as an individual who plays a key role in how society develops for the removal of those negative traits in society. As a highly evolved soul Shri Mataji reflects the potential divine qualities every human being has within them. The Kundalini itself is our sympathetic nervous system. The whole thing can be viewed through the lens of psychology, neurology, and mythology etc, but those who have established their integrity through this technique are way ahead of the game. The truth of it all is love, divine love, seeing no such thing as 'the other' in another individual, simply recognising that as individuals everyone is unique in their expression as they try to work it out, making mistakes along the way. Without understanding the true nature of love we will never have the self-discipline or honesty to face our mistakes and learn from them, without which the steady decline towards superficiality and unease in the world will continue. Sahaja yoga is a state of being one with the divine aspects of nature. The group or movement that goes by that name is where we are challenged and out of which the most incredible expressions of beauty and enjoyment that it is possible to experience have arisen and are established as Sahaj culture. It is not for the faint hearted because you have to face the negativity in yourself and the world and pull it out by the roots. It is a fantastic journey towards the type of society that will establish the changes we all need to see if life on earth is to be as beautiful as it can truly be.Moreexpand_more
I don't know of many types of meditation that give the experience of thoughtless awareness. It's always so relaxing and I always leave these meetings feeling completely blissed out. These people don't charge for their time. Sometimes there's a voluntary tin for the room hire. Highly recommended.
Was involved for 7 years this is a cult organisation please try this meditation elsewhere the false guru Mataji has died now she use to tell her followers that it is ok for men to hit their wives heard her say it myself I left after that please look up on Google why it’s a cult. If you don’t keep doing these meetings for free you will get kicked out of Sahaja Yoga. They love bomb you at first and don’t talk about Mataji get you brainwashed then you are in it they prey on the vulnerable Mataji was also known to say that you will get the 7 destructive forces of Christ after you as well if you misbehave you have been warned best thing I ever did was leave but some people aren’t so lucky.
Free meditation with very good value for money. Relaxing, and soothing, this meditation class has really helped me find my balance between my work life and spare time. Easy, and very friendly teachers ( meditation guides), this class holds no obligation. One can just turn up and enjoy an original experience. Definately worth trying.
I am regularly practicing Hatha yoga and had studied different schools of meditation and eastern philosophy before I even encountered Sahaja yoga but I have to say that I found it highly effective and true to the tradition from which it comes. I think that in this culture we have the tendency to push and push to get what we want and so the Sahaja 'effortless' approach is really valuable to me as it has helped me to bypass this forceful mindset and just enjoy the peace and joy of meditation! I began to feel the benefits with regards to my stress levels and interactions with others almost instantly after the first session and have found it very easy to work into my daily routine. Also the group I go to has a fantastic friendly and grounded atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Sahaja Yoga saved my life in 2007. I am a recovering Alcoholic and although my search was for God, to connect with the Divine, I went to Sahaja without knowing what it really was. I knew intuitivley that my Chakras had to be balanced, I had a life changing experience when my Kundalini awakened, I felt a lot of burning heat then the breeze, then for the next week I felt a oneness with everything and a profound feeling of inner peace, absolutely incredible! I am trying to get to more meetings as I want to progress a lot more! Thank you to everyone whos help I have recieved over the years. Joanne, Croydon .
I wish to write a review on this just to balance the reviews on this which otherwise appear very positive. This was not my experience, and I came out of it laughing, weirded-out, and felt I had escaped a cult-like experience. I went to the one in Walthamstow, but the same practice. First of all this is not your regular yoga class, or meditation class for that matter. It is based on a particular belief system which goes so far to say that its practice can prevent/cure cancer, but providing no evidence in favour of this. Me and my friend went together and we felt quite uncomfortable by these grand claims, and the fact the room was cold and the practice seemed mumbled in mumbo jumbo. The so-called cold breeze from one's head is nonsense, I felt nothing despite going along with what was told, and if anything is felt it is nothing to do with chakras, but susceptibility to suggestion and simple science. There is also a cult-like adoration of their guru lady who first started this 'movement'. Both of us are experienced in yoga and meditation and we found this class to be neither, but more like a cult - we left half way through. My friend had to leave after not wanting her 'chakras manipulated by oddball creepy looking men'. It is free (initially) for a reason….Moreexpand_more
Hi thank you all for a great evening! This is something that I have been looking for, for my whole life…My Spirit! …Self Realisation! I felt the 'Cool breeze' coming out from my head! Later hearing and realising realising, IS the Actulisation of Baptism…The Real baptism! The only requirement is an open heart and a 'Pure' desire, to be ONE with the divine! We are ALL 'Seeking' something, but what we are truly seeking…. Is our Spirit! (Our Second birth/Self Realisation) it really is the Real deal, the winning lottery ticket! I was told that the most important thing now, is to meditate and grow into It, IN SY you grow really quick! We must meditate and clear out, …or the Kundalini will go back dormant, sleeping again! Getting the 'Yoga' (union) is the easy part and maintaining it, is effortless, as it's the Kundalini, that does Alll the work! All we need to do is turn up twice a day! :) it's the best thing to ever happen to me and now, can give it to others! "We will never know the meaning of our lives,…. untill we are connected to the power that created us!" - Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.Moreexpand_more
A very informative, well - structured and comprehensive presentation. Having practiced other forms of meditation before and even having paid for some of them, I can safely say that this has been the most relaxed and energized I have felt for some time. I especially enjoyed the balanced approach of the presenter as at first, I was afraid it would be a bit too 'airy fairy' for me, however, there was a practical explanation and solutions for everything spoken of on the evening. The information about the nervous system and the sub-plexuses (chakras) and their connection to everyday diseases and states of mind answered a lot of questions I had pondered over the years but up until now, had not gained any satisfactory knowledge of. Many thanks!
Finding peace in the middle of London on a week night is not always such a simple thing to do, but at this Sahaja Yoga meeting, that is precisely what you will find. There is no sign up necessary - just walk in and sit down and whoever is leading the meeting will guide you the rest of the way. There are many forms of meditation and yoga out there so it is hard to know which one to choose. Sahaja Yoga (which actually means ‘spontaneous union’ or broken down ‘saha’ means ‘with’ and ‘ja’ means ‘born’) literally gives you something that you are already born with and can spontaneously be awakened within you. After a long working day, Sahaja Yoga works much better than just heading down the pub to forget your troubles. And it won’t cost you a penny either!
'If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you…. ' Just about able to juggle the various roles one has to play in life, I was in quite a state when I chanced upon the Covent Garden Sahaja Yoga Meeting. It was such a peaceful experience! The meditation was so very different from what I had expected, no need for mats, postures or moods, just sit, calm down and enjoy the inner peace. That was my experience and I continue to tap into it on a daily basis on my own and Wednesdays there. At no cost, like the air we breathe, its a refreshing change to feel such peace without paying for it. :).
