I had a fantastic experience with Round The Bend Driving School. My instructor was patient, clear in their explanations, and genuinely invested in helping me become a confident and safe driver. Every lesson felt structured and supportive, and I always left feeling like I’d made real progress. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking to learn how to drive.

Around The Bend is absolutely great. My teacher Clare was excellent! Very supportive, patient and has great conversation, if you’re worried about your drive being boring, don't be! I cannot recommend her and Around The Bend enough if you’re looking for an effective, professional and enjoyable driving instructor. You’re in good hands!

Gemma Ryder from Round the Bend Driving school is amazing, shes patient and friendly. I was learning in an automatic car for just over a year as I couldnt get a test due to the back log and managed to pass 3rd time lucky, not through any fault of Gemmas they were my silly mistakes but Gemma persevered with me and on 13 March 2026 I passed. I couldnt have done it without the encouragement and support Gemma showed, she knows her stuff. Highly recommend using Round the Bend, especially Gemma. Shes an asset to the team…!

Booked a half day towing course to refresh my knowledge and practice manoeuvring after not towing for 20 years. Matthew was excellent talking me through hitching up and unhitching safely and also do some great reversing scenarios that brought back the skills I had very quickly. A mix or urban, dual carriage way and country driving also allowed me to get the feel of towing in different settings. Excellent half day course, and excellent value for money! I’d highly recommend it if you’re towing anything or haven’t towed before. .

I had my lessons with Clare and she couldn’t been better. Very calm, patient and has an excellent methodology to make sure you pass your test. Highly recommend.

I had a great experience learning to drive with my instructor Scot. Thanks to their patience, clear guidance, and supportive teaching style, I was able to pass my test first time in just under a year. They always made lessons feel calm and constructive, explaining things clearly and helping build my confidence behind the wheel. If I struggled with something, they took the time to go over it until I felt comfortable, and their tips for the test itself were really helpful. They were also very flexible with scheduling. I wasn’t able to have the same regular time every week, but they were always accommodating and helped find lesson times that worked around my availability. Lessons were always well organised and focused on the areas I needed to improve, which made a big difference in my progress. I never felt rushed or pressured, and their encouragement kept me motivated throughout the process. I’m writing to highly recommend Round the Bend and my instructor Scot to anyone preparing for driving lessons. Scot was incredibly helpful and patient, which made a huge difference as I was extremely nervous when I first started. He struck the perfect balance between pushing me to learn and progress quickly, while never overwhelming me. His jokes and stories always put me at ease, too. I had been dreading my first lesson for weeks, and I was amazed to finish it actually enjoying the experience. Scot’s support made all the difference. When I moved out of the area, Scot even continued to be my instructor so I could have consistency, despite it meaning a longer drive for him. I’m incredibly grateful for his help, support, patience, and all the interesting stories along the way. I genuinely feel he helped me become a confident and capable driver. I had Mark as my driving instructor, he was brilliant and helped me massively get my test passed first time, and only 5 weeks after turning 17 + No faults or Minors. Highly Recommend great instructor.

I went to Round the bend after not having a great experience with another driving company. I couldn’t recommend anymore, they were quick to respond and got me driving lessons very soon after I contacted them. I had Mark as my driving instructor who was brilliant, he was calm, patient and made me feel comfortable, always on time and was accommodating to my lessons. I passed 1st time on my driving test thanks to Mark giving me the confidence. Would highly recommend!

Scot was a truly brilliant instructor. I was very nervous to begin with but he really helped to calm me down by talking to me and making sure I was comfortable in the manoeuvres and roads we were driving on and eventually pass first time. He is very patient but also explains each mistake you make and how to fix it, which is extremely helpful. I would absolutely recommend him.

My instructor Gemma really helped me during my lessons and helped me pass first time, I wouldn’t of been able to do it without her, she is very lovely and calming and patient with you I really recommend her.

Dave was an absolutely brilliant instructor. His explanations were always clear and patient, no matter how many questions I had (and there were a lot! ). He’s incredibly calm and easy to get along with, our lessons were always relaxed, with plenty of chats about DIY projects, TV shows, and everything in between, while still drilling the fundamentals and finer details of driving. Over six months of lessons, Dave helped me build real confidence behind the wheel and made driving feel natural rather than stressful or rushed. He was great at identifying my weaknesses and helping me understand why I was making the same mistakes, which I found really insightful. He tailored the way he taught to my personality very well. I passed first time with just a few minors and couldn’t be happier. Most importantly, I genuinely feel safe, confident, and like a proper driver now!

David has been an absolutely amazing teacher, calm, patient and encouraging. Very supportive and understanding of my needs as an autistic driver. Learning to drive has been a life changing experience I am so excited. Thank you David and all at round the bend! Recommended to all!

A huge thank you to Scot for helping me pass first time! He was super calm and patient, whilst also encouraging me in the parts I found more challenging. His relaxed and friendly attitude meant I rarely felt nervous in the car, which helped build my confidence and made learning to drive seem a lot less intimidating. Would definitely recommend!

I had Gemma and passed first time with one minor. She is absolutely amazing and understood my anxiety which she helped to control for my test. I would completely recommend Gemma and this driving school to anyone learning.

Maddie was friendly and calm and put my daughter at ease. She introduced aspects of driving at the right time so my daughter didn’t feel overwhelmed at any point. Passed first time!

After trying to learn to drive with 3 previous instructors I was left doubtful that I was ever going to pass but Gemma was my saviour! She’s an excellent instructor - calm, reassuring, knowledgeable, friendly. She’s extremely professional and will go above and beyond to make sure you feel confident and know what you’re doing. After a few months learning with Gemma I passed first time with only 4 minors - I cannot recommend her enough.
