I have hear about Pilates machines before but I had never tried until I came across Pilates Manchester studio in Sale. The staff is very knowledgeable, committed and friendly. The studio itself is fully equipped and well located, easy access from the motorway. After 3 months my body posture and shape has improved noticeable, I feel stronger and move more graciously. Although I am of slim constitution one colleague at work asked me if I had lost weight to what I answered that I didn’t, it is due to the Pilates with machines that my body shape and posture have changed! I have been suffering for back pain for the last three years, but since doing the machines I have gain a lot of mobility in my column and the pain is not punctual, in the same place, any more. Many thanks to Nisha and her team.
Before I started going to Pilates Manchester I was in a bad way physically; daily back and neck pain, unable to exercise and couldn’t even carry the shopping without pulling my neck. I felt like I was running out of options to get back to being healthy and pain free. I started having steroid injections to cut the pain cycle and was encouraged to exercise. Pilates Manchester caught my eye. It offered me everything I was after and I wouldn’t be chucked into the deep end as there was an initial one-to-one with Nisha. This was a godsend! No being nervous joining the class unprepared about the exercises on the reformer/tower equipment. Nisha was also able to understand what my individual needs were, go through my health background and to put me through a variety of exercise tests to check what I needed to strengthen. The photos to show my static posture as well as the spine measurements were very enlightening. I signed up to a 3 month course in Sale and have absolutely loved it! Oh it’s been hard work, but with the friendliness and support of all the teachers and their ability to give you that individual attention during the class if you are struggling (which is only up to 10 people) I have thrived. My back and posture has changed dramatically, I’m getting stronger and pain is nearly a thing of the past. The classes also have a community feel where everyone gives support and advice to each other. All in all, I would recommend Pilates Manchester. I’ve even signed back up for an additional 6 months and don’t intent to stop going anytime soon!Moreexpand_more
When I first joined Pilates Manchester, I was already doing Pilates on the mat and wanted to get more from Pilates due to my shoulder, neck and Hip pain from long term laptop use and a couple of falls in the snow/ice. Nisha gave me a thorough examination prior to starting the classes. I have been going to Pilates Manchester weekly since July this year and I travel 45 minutes to get there as there isn't a clinical reformer class close by. Within a couple of months I have gained deep muscles and am much stronger and more flexible all around. My pain is much reduced and I feel a lot taller. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and experienced and really focus a lot on posture and form when doing the movements, helping me make corrections and to get most out of my group class. Nisha continues to review the classes and brings in more complex movements on the reformer to continue to challenge ourselves. I am certainly seeing the benefit as I continue to maintain my regular attendance and the distance does not seem too far. The classes are more expensive than a traditional Pilates on the mat due to the Reformers and are worth every penny! I highly recommend Nisha and her team as they are excellent!Moreexpand_more
I've started taking Pilates classes only a couple of months ago, and I'm loving it! The main goal for me was to get back into a good shape, having not exercised in a while due to some neck pain. I was a little sceptical I'd like it at the beginning, but having seen some results in only a few weeks my weekly class became addictive! The teaching staff are very prepared and friendly, the classes are small which means you get more tailored guidance and advice and they do classes on Saturday, which for me is a massive incentive.
I can not over estimate the impact Nisha's Pilates classes have made to my life. Before starting the sessions I was experiencing a lot pain, stiffness, appalling posture and neck and shoulder pain. I was told I was round backed and shouldered from years of desk work and driving. My GP recommended Pilates due to my hip and it was the best thing I have ever done. I had private lessons and assessments with full measurements with Nisha and then joined classes twice a week. I'm on my second set of classes (about 20 or so lessons now) and am doing the Rapid Results programme. I had measurements and assessments again and have already made improvements. I cannot believe the range of movement I have now, the improved posture and a massive reduction in pain. My stamina has improved dramatically too. I feel so much better. I attend the classes religiously because it has made such a difference to my life and I do not want to lose the momentum, there has to be a commitment as with any kind of fitness programme. I thoroughly enjoy the classes and the challenges of advanced exercises (although I do struggle sometimes!) which after a number of attempts I am now able to comfortably do. Nisha and her team of instructors are extremely knowledgeable and pleasant and make the experience very enjoyable. They push you which is very important. I would highly recommend the classes. Thank you for coming to Sale!Moreexpand_more
Following a hip replacement 2 years ago I was advised that Pilates reformer would help tremendously with improving my core and helping with general posture. I had a bad experience with another studio so was delighted when I found Manchester Pilates. Nisha is a knowledgeable, professional practitioner. Since I started classes with Nisha I have noticed an increase in core strength, better posture. Importantly, friends have noticed and commented on the improvement. The sense of well being is an added bonus as is the extra dimension this improvement has brought to my gym work outs.
I was completely new to Pilates when I attended my private 90 minute session with Nisha - prior to starting the classes. I generally do not stick to any kind of attempts to get fit longterm - I like being outside and classes usually lose their appeal after a couple! This has been different, after my session with Nisha where we looked at my nutrition, sleep and health as well as flexibility and posture, I have not only attended my sessions twice a week (and I am keen to get there! ) but I have changed the way I think about what my body needs nutritionally! I have dieted for the 15-20 years with minimal success but my body has now started to change - I feel stronger and my back problems are improving. I have just started my 2nd block booking and although it may be more expensive than a gym membership - it feels worth it because I am seeing results and going to my classes, I have had some expensive gym memberships in the past when I have only attended once or twice… highly recommended!
I was unsure how Pilates might work for me but having had several Reformer Pilates sessions with Nisha I am convinced it works very well. Sessions have been tailored to my needs and I find I can do more than I thought I could. Weak muscle areas are being strengthened and I feel good after each class. I believe my balance and posture are improving.
New to Pilates and over 70 years old I was rather apprehensive about starting. Needn't have worried though - Nisha understood my needs, limitations and abilities. After an initial assessment we worked both on the mat and on the Reformer, starting with routines to improve posture, balance and core stability. Nisha inspired confidence and I soon felt able to trust her judgement as to what this elderly body is able to do. I was amazed to find that, far from being tired afterwards, I actually felt full of energy! Really look forward to each session.
In the last month I've started coming to Pilates at "Pilates Manchester" in Sale. It's very close to the metro, so it's convenient to get to. I'm going three times a week : Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The classes are very affordable, at a good level for beginners as well as more advanced students, and my body just feels better each time I've finished one. Both Nisha and her staff are very enthusiastic knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring you get the most out of each class. I'd highly recommend that people come and decided for themselves.
I had a replacement hip a few years ago and, whilst it was the best thing to do, it has left me with some problems. In the sessions with Nisha I feel safe whilst stretching myself. Now I feel a lot stronger and have better mobility. The proof was last week when I went with the family to the Welsh mountain zoo and kept up with everyone without feeling stressed, which made the day so much more enjoyable than it would have been a few weeks ago.
I've just finished the six week reformer class and have really enjoyed it. I've previously taken a pilates at another centre and found it quite tedious and it didn't push me to work this left me skeptical of how good Pilates is. However, having now completed a 6 week course here, this skepticism has gone and I've found that Pilates really does work and lead to results and improvements. The flow of the classes means you're constantly working your muscles for the full hour. The quality of the instructors and support during the sessions is great. I can really feel the improvements. I highly recommend booking onto the next course.
I go to one of Nisha's reformer classes with my other half once a week. I'd highly recommend her. The class is just the two of us and Nisha really makes sure you get your value for money. There is no hanging around, it's straight in there and full on for the full hour. You definitely get your money's worth. She's very good at judging the level to set the kit to so no matter how new or experienced you are she makes sure the class is tailored to you. She's also very encouraging in the exercises (almost too so for me, I prefer being shouted at! ) but I suspect for most people (and certainly for Elaine my other half) that is very welcome. I can tell you that even after just one session I found my posture had improved and so has my flexibility. For me it's worth every penny that I spend on it.Moreexpand_more
This is my second 6 week course in Sale using the reformer. I suffer with back pain caused by other underlying issues but am starting to see a difference in my posture and strength in weak areas. The classes compliment my crossfit training and my mobility is improving. The teachers are very informative and the classes are small and fun. Due to the intimate sizes of the classes you always have the full attention of the teachers who are there to help with your movements. I'll be signing up for my next 6 week course as I'm slightly addicted now.
I have been going to Nisha's Reformer class for the last 12 weeks, at last that was something I had been wanting to do around in my area. Since been going to Nisha's class I have felt my body strength is much improved. I have enjoyed every class that I have been to and always look forward to the next. There is a good atmosphere and fun in her studio. Nisha knows my body better than myself and knows every muscle and skeleton there is to know, she is a very dedicated and professional trainer. I highly recommended to anyone who wantis to try a very good standard Pilates Reformer class , Nisha is the one I will recommend you go to. Looking forward to my challenge for the year 2016. Amy Sale.
I had a private session with Nisha to see if this was something I wanted to pursue, I felt so exhilirated after my session I signed up for the 6 week course straigt away. I attend the classes in Sale on a thursday evening. Its held at a convenient time for me which is after office hours so I can get to my class with minimul stress. I find the instructor really good, she explains each move before we do it for ourselves and goes around to correct your technique if you are not doing it right. Its a friendly class where the numbers are low and you get quality instruction from your instructor without feeling awkward. I just wish there were more sessions in a week as I would like to go at least twice a week!
I've attended both the city centre STOTT pilates classes with Nisha and the pilates reformer equipment class on tuesdays and thursdays in Sale. I live in the city centre, around deansgate so city centre classes are ideal but I also wanted to try the reformer so travelling to Sale via metro was not a hassle either, as its only 15 mins away. For the city centre Matwork with props, I liked the ease of class especially for those who have an injury, but some positions were also challenging. Nisha is a great instructor and you can see that from one class with her, the knowledge and passion she holds for pilates allows you to be at ease as you know you are with someone who can help you with whatever issue you may have. I think the refomer is great for those who have not tried pilates before and are not familiar with the postures. The instructors in Sale are both very good at ensuring you are in the correct position at all times and the fact the class sizes are also very small, 3-6, allows for individual attention which you perhaps wouldn't get elsewhere. I also like the fact you feel the progress from day 1, and although it might seem easy, you do feel like your muscles have done a workout. I think for me the key thing is ensuring recovery of injuries and the reformer is great as it allows you to maintain the correct positions at all times and doesn't let you 'cheat'. I also like the use of matwork in the class, as it keeps it interesting. Overall, i'm enjoying the reformer classes and I think with continuous classes, posture and other injury related problems can see a significant improvement.Moreexpand_more
I went to Nisha's arc barrel classes in the city centre and thought they were great. Fab classes in a good location with easy booking arrangements. Nisha is a very patient, skilled, knowledgeable, professional and great teacher. Would highly recommend and I hope to get booked on one of the reformer class courses in Sale.
As a Crossfitter of a certain "age", I have found that mobility and agility are just as important to me now as strength and cardio ability. Having been recommended Pilates Manchester in Sale, I thought I'd give it a try to address some pretty specific mobility issues that are preventing me in some of positions in Crossfit. After only a few sessions I have now started to see a massive improvement in my mobility, it even surprised me how quickly I started to see the benefits. As for the coaches Stacey, Marketa and Nisha can't rate them highly enough. They quickly understood why I wanted to do Pilates and have tailored my sessions to match my goals and where I struggle they find alternative movements to assist my progress. Pilates Manchester is a great place, friendly and very welcoming.
About four years ago I had 2 episodes of slipped lumbar disk which was excruciating and took a long time to heal. I was prescribed a cocktail of painkillers but it was really left to me to get better. So I read everything I could and sought help from an osteopath who was really helpful in easing the initial pain. I have also tried pilates by a APPI trained physiotherapist who introduced me to a more long term management of my back problem. The key for my recovery was strengthening my core muscles supporting my spine and I have been practicing pilates since then ensuring that my back problem does not come back. As I moved to Manchester I was looking for a class in a City Centre in the evening on my way back from work. I am really pleased to say that I started attending Nisha's classes which I find really helpful. Nisha focuses on working with core muscles but also on stretching other parts of the body which for me offers a holistic approach to body work. Nisha also uses different props such as a ball and a circle which gives an opportunity for more precise work on specific muscles groups. I find that Nisha is open to feedback and tailors the interventions to the individual needs which I personally find really helpful. The classes are small (4-6 participants) which allows for this individual approach. Overall I find Nisha a really caring and thoughtful individual who aims to create a safe and healing space for the body work. I would wholeheartedly recommend her if you are looking for a pilates class or one-to-one sessions. Thank you Nisha and see you later at the class!Moreexpand_more
