I visited here for help with a portable hard drive (which I knew was a long shot anyway) but also to speed up my laptop. My hard drive wasn’t repairable which I kind of thought but I was told my laptop speeding up would be a simple job. I went back a few days later and was given a seedy laptop but this came at a HUGE costs. This is why:• Was charged extra for an internet USB pen as apparently my laptop couldn’t connect to the internet! Yes it could perfectly well before it went there. I got it home, it was fine. Can’t believe a high tech computer place can’t connect a laptop to the internet! • When I opened my laptop, all my work, photos and folders etc were not there. I was told that I had nothing in the ‘my documents folder’. I explained there definitely was and maybe it was due to there being a dual profile which I had given all passwords for (none of which were used as he said he didn’t need them with the system he used). After days of being told I had definitely brought a laptop to him with nothing on, he said there was nothing he could do as he couldn’t retrieve something that was never there in the first place. If I had known what he was going to do with my laptop then I would have backed stuff up (more than what I usually do) but I was told it was a simple procedure. • The atmosphere then became really frosty and I was basically made out to be lying and was told that he had gone above and beyond for me, and I should be happy with his efforts. WOW – for what? Trying to retrieve what you lost?• I then queried the £150 that I gave him, and he said he had thought about giving me some back out of good will but then explained that this now meant he had worked for nothing as if I totalled up the hours that he’d put into this, my bill would be hundreds of pounds so basically I should feel lucky! WOW! • Then at that point he tried to throw a waiver in my face, none of which had been mentioned over the phone when I had booked or went round. • I then took my laptop to Sankey Computers who retrieved the work he had lost within a few hours. I was told it was probably due to the laptop having two logins, something which I must have mentioned 20 times and each time was dismissed. • Now I am left with a laptop with an old version of windows and an ancient version of Microsoft office (my other one was much better). .Moreexpand_more
Had my 13 year old IMac upgraded by Kevin. Really friendly and professional service. It works like new again! Would not hesitate to recommend him and will most certainly be using this business in the future.
I had problems with my PC which was 13 years old and as I have dealt with Kevin previously I took it to him and on his advice as he said he could do a repair for £60. 00 with no timescale how long the repair would last he offered me a refurbished one for £600. 00 as opposed to a new one over £1,000. 00 so I chose the refurbished one thus saving me a considerable amount, obviously I would certainly recommend Kevin.
Brilliant service - office pc not coming on - Kev responded to me over the weekend and it is now Monday afternoon and I am back up and running! Honestly cant thank him enough - life saver! Massive thank you for the super quick service :-).
Our MacBook Air screen failed [lines all over the place. Decided it was more of a hardware than software failure so popped it over to Kevin. Instant diagnosis, new screen required. Picked it up today fully repaired with a replacement screen at a price lower than expected given it's an Apple. Kevin offers a friendly professional service and would highly recommend anybody needing their PC sorting give him a call.
Great service and very reasonable price. Took my MacBook Pro (mid 2012) to Kevin, to replace the trackpad. He also recommended replacing the hard drive with a SSD type as my laptop took ages to boot up. It was something I'd been considering doing for years but was waiting for the price of them to come down. It is a thousand times faster now booting up, and the response time is very much responding when opening icons such as finder etc. He quoted a great price for doing the two. PC Workshop is very easy to find too. I normally get lost going anywhere but it must be one of the easiest and most convenient of places to find when exiting the M62. Literally a minute after exiting at Junction 8. Kev and his work are highly recommended. No doubt I will be using his services in the future and will recommend it to my son who also has a MacBook Pro of the same model. .Moreexpand_more
Kevin was lovely, found the problem with my MacBook the day I dropped it off and had it fixed within 2 days, good as new. Would highly recommend!
If you have a computer related problem, this is the place to go! Don't bother going anywhere else, Kevin will resolve your issue in a timely manner and a competitive price. Kevin has repaired/upgraded several laptops for me over many years, always an excellent quality service. Recently, my laptop wasn't charging, left it with Kevin and he has ordered and fitted a replacement part, and it's back working; the type of service we all want.
The hard drive on my iMac had died and needed replacement. Kevin replaced it with a solid state drive, reinstalled the system, and it's now like a new machine. Turnaround was around 4 days and the price was very reasonable (particularly when compared to the cost of a new iMac! ).
I spoke to Kevin on Friday evening after our PC " died " and was completely useless. I delivered it to him on Saturday morning and a few hours later he contacted me to discuss his plans to repair it and quoted an acceptable price. He kept me updated on progress on Sunday and Monday and I collected it on Tuesday. Kevin was very patient and explained things in language I could understand as a non computer savvy person. Highly recomended.
