Amy will take you through each step of the pose so no need to worry if you are a complete beginner. Different variations of poses will be demonstrated so that you do only do what’s right for your body with attention to safety. Amy is warm, welcoming and calm. An experienced professional and detailed instructor. After just my first session I felt physically better ( I suffer with chronic migraine) and mentally stronger. I cannot recommend her enough.
I absolutely, love Amy's class, she is a great teacher, who always keeps things fresh and interesting. As a relatively reserved person Amy has even managed to get me to join in chanting (something I could never see myself doing) with her willingness to allow you to do things at your own pace. Lovely class full of equally lovely people.
Given the meagre percentile of men to women that attend Yoga classes it can be a little intimidating as a guy to join. My anxiety was quickly elevated however, as Amy and the members of her class provide a warm, friendly environment in which to learn. Amy is an exceptional instructor, carefully balancing varying degrees of physical health, ages and experience, all delivered with knowledgeable, articulate and warmly humorous instruction. It is approaching a year since I first joined and I am really feeling the benefits. For myself yoga provides an ideal foundation for other forms of exercise, giving me greater flexibility, balance and keener understanding of breathing techniques. It really is beneficial for both body and mind, and while I may have come in a little cynical of the meditative techniques and chanting in yoga this swiftly evaporated as the restorative impact on my well-being crystallised.
I’ve been attending Amy’s classes for nearly seven years now. I joined as a complete novice without any prior knowledge of the discipline (having been advised it would be beneficial for back problems) but under Amy’s amazing coaching, it has turned out to be so much more than that. For me the classes have proved to be a remarkable tonic for body, mind and soul. Like with most things, the quality of the teacher can make or break a subject and Amy is warm, enthusiastic, insightful and very obviously puts a great deal of thought and love into preparing her classes for us. In all the time I’ve been attending, each ‘half-term’ has had a different theme - and every single class has been unique - each and every one a fresh and uplifting experience with a good infusion of humour too. It is a joy and a privilege to be one of Amy’s students and I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone, of any age or level of experience, to join up. It’s a journey you won’t regret.
Amy’s yoga classes are wonderful in fact she is wonderful, insightful, calm, kind, reassuring, imaginative and full of fun, energy and life. These are top quality yoga classes really well thought out and planned. Thank you Amy for all the fantastic years of yoga and things you have taught us.
I attend Amy’s Thursday morning class and I look forward to it every week. I love the combination of meditation and different styles of yoga. Amy puts so much time and dedication into creating the most varied of sessions (with such great a selection of music too) that it makes you wish the class would last longer each week. I’m really pleased to be a member of the group too – such a friendly bunch! It’s always a shame when the classes end for the summer holiday period … but poor Amy does need a break too :-). I look forward to many more years of yoga with Amy.
