Same as the other 2 reviews sadly. Huge project started last September (2022). At the beginning, Mark couldn’t do enough to help. Unfortunately, as it came to the back end, he stopped turning up or would just do a few hours when he did. He let us down so many times we sacked him. So far, we’ve not found fault with the building (let’s hope it stays that way) BUT do not let him do you bathrooms, we’ve had to have 2 ripped out and started again because of the terrible standard of work. As per other reviews, I’ll be pursuing further via Solicitors once all invoices are in for the work he should’ve completed. He’s done work for us for 10 years now and we just can’t believe how badly he’s dealt with the later stages of our once in a life time project. Disappointing!
We employed Mark to fit us a kitchen and for the most part we were very happy with the workmanship. The problem was that - even though I have paid him for the job - he failed to turn up on more occasions than I can remember and has failed to complete the job. I am now in the process of paying somebody else to complete the job and I will then be hand delivering the bill to Mark along with a solicitors letter. Wish me luck!
Please don't get scammed like I did. The terrible workmanship, complete disrepect for my home, Mark smashed holes and scratched every one of my newly painted walls. Covered my carpet in sawdust and never completed the work he was paid to do. If he hadn't tricked us into paying him in cash we'd be in small claims court. Mark was hired in July 2019 to put in a sliding door on my bathroom and and put a door on the loft conversion. It is now almost March 2020 and Mark still hasn't completed the work after having been paid more than a thousand pounds. The quality of his work is appalling. The sliding door doesn't close and he put the latch in upside down. He came several times to plan for the door to the loft, unfortunately it didn't occur to him to measure the space so it took months for him to realise (the one time he actually turned up for more than 5 minutes) that putting a door at the bottom of the stairs was impossible. I paid him a lot more money than originally agreed to build a stud wall at the top of the stairs to the loft and put a door in there. The last time Mark was paid, he only had to fit the door into the frame and the job would be complete. I had to leave urgently so I paid him cause he didn't have much left to finish and then cean up. I then saw him on my CCTV checking that I'd gone and leaving straight afterwards without finishing the work. For months it has been impossible to get him to come and finish the job he was paid for. He has agreed to come and do it several times so I have taken off days from work to supervise him, but then he doesn't turn up. When I message and call about it he doesnt answer the phone. On the off chance he responds to a message, he tries to extort more money from me. Mark refuses to return my house keys (which is a criminal offense) and the empty door frame he's left me is wider in the middle than it is at the top. .Moreexpand_more
