Marc and team have done a first rate job building wardrobes, cupboards, shelves and replacing old doors in keeping with our period property. He’s a true craftsman who can visualise and deliver exactly what is asked for from nothing more than a few rough ideas and a chat together. What’s more, they complete the work in the time frame given but are also flexible when needed. In addition they are all COVID safe and do a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves! Providing a professional, polite and an always perfect job, I can highly recommend Marc and team.

A fantastic experience of Marc Mackay Carpentry! I contacted a number of carpenters when my daughters door wouldn't fit back onto her room post new carpet fitting. It was an urgent requirement and I was thrilled Marc could come 9am sharp the next day (we spoke at 5pm the afternoon before). He came and fixed up the door really well and ensured it fit perfectly. He was thoroughly professional, provided an excellent service and was very competitively priced. I'll be coming back for all carpentry work in future. Highly recommended!

I have used Marc a number of times of the years, as has my daughter. Whatever the work he is always thoughtful, knowledgeable, creative and constructive in his suggestions, well-organised and thorough. Marc did work in my two bedrooms and completely refurbished the bathroom. His work is amazing and equally important, he and his team are lovely to host. I can't praise the quality of the work enough.

Marc and Simon replaced the flooring on our loft extension which had been poorly installed some years ago by another contractor. They did a really good professional job at a competitive price. We really appreciated Marc's straight-forward and honest approach, good communication, good workmanship, helpfulness and flexibility. Jess and Sam did a fantastic job sanding down and repairing our garden studio. They arrived when they said they would, worked extremely hard (in sweltering heat) and exhibited great attention to detail. And to top it all off, they answered my 4 year old's twenty questions with amazing patience. The result was a studio that looks brand new. Highly recommended.

Mackay Carpentry did an excellent job from start to finish. They took a vague concept and turned it into a great design that ticked all the boxes! The build of the shelter for a community project site was quick and efficient. The finished article looked very elegant yet substantial - and all for a reasonable rate. They were all friendly and helpful throughout. I'd recommend them anytime.

Marc (and Jessica) did an excellent job in a small and awkwardly shaped space. He modified his plans without complaint after feedback and changed plans when necessary to deal with difficulties. I'm very happy with the quality of their work and would certainly use them again.

Marc has completed a number of jobs, on board the ship, and around the dockyard for us, here at ss Great Britain. He and his team are always a pleasure to work with and Marc operates a very clear pricing policy. Some of the jobs have been quite challenging and Marc has helped to develop solutions to some of the tricky problems that we have presented him with! Working around historical artefacts brings its own unique constraints and I am happy to say that Marc and the team always treat their surroundings with respect.

Marc really cares about what he does, he puts a great deal of himself into his work and it shows in the high quality of the end result. He project managed and executed a full renovation of our house, a three month job which involved a complete strip out of the house to its skeleton, then putting it back together again. Particular highlights of his work were the new kitchen with customised cabinets (we're proud to say it's the grey one you can see on his website), re-laying a beautiful original wooden floor with insulation underneath, new bathroom with customised sink/loo unit, plus a whole host of other jobs which he managed and delivered, including knock-through of kitchen and dining room, creating a utility room, re-wire, new rads and moving a boiler, and much much more. He was helpful in dealing with the unexpected things which inevitably come up on a job of this size and complexity and was very flexible and enthusiastic about going the extra mile to find the best solutions to problems. He was very active in communication, often responding in minutes if not seconds. We feel extremely lucky to have had him and his team create our home!

Many thanks to Marc for the window repairs in my flat. He did the work to a high standard, and was diligent, prompt and well-organised. We also found him to be very personable. Would have no problems in recommending for similar work.

Marc was extremely helpful and friendly from the outset, and whilst carrying out the work. He was quick to respond, send over invoices, and was transparent in his pricing and availability. I found Marc on free index and was impressed with his reviews. Although Marc was busy working in a school he found time to mcome over and give me a quotation for a understairs cupboard conversion into a downstairs loo. Marc collected the key and started the job without fuss. At the end of day one he tidied up and left the area tidy. He returned on day two to complete the job to a high standard. I could not be happier with the way it turned out and would not hesitate to recommend Marc to anyone looking for a quailty job at a reasonable price. Marc built us from scratch, 3 built in Wardrobes all with shelves and rails plus we asked him to make two new doors for another wardrobe whilst on site and to box in some wires in the wall. Marc is very talented and worked so hard. The wardrobes, doors and boxed pipe work were expertly crafted and the attention to detail was brilliant, They are beautiful. Time keeping and communication was excellent. We would highly recommend Mackay Carpentry.
