Have been attending Emma’s classes for many years. She is extremely knowledgable and explains exercises clearly with alternatives if a physical condition makes any exercise difficult. No pressure just gentle encouragement. Very friendly atmosphere and classes suitable for all ages and abilities.
I've been going to Emma's classes for 8 years and highly recommend her. I have an injury that often means I can't lie on my back, so am unable to do some of the exercises in class. Using her extensive knowledge Emma will always try and find alternative exercises for me to do. This has meant I have been able to maintain a level of strength and mobility that I would otherwise have lost over the years.
I have recently moved into the area and have been attending Emma's Pliates classes for the last 5 months. I've experienced Pilates classes in both Wiltshire and Cumbria over the past 9 years respectively and I find her tuition extremely clear and consise with every effort made to help with any physical weaknesses, but also giving more challenging levels for the more experienced participants. Emma is always careful to give individual attention to each member of the class to help everyone achieve their full potential; something I've not experienced before and, as a retired ballet teacher, I know how important this is. The class atmosphere is always friendly, happy and relaxed and I have been made to feel very welcome. I always feel completely energised both physically and mentally after an hour of Pilates with Emma. Certainly very good value for money. I highly recommend these classes.
Emma uses her considerable knowledge, experience and training to maximum effect throughout her pilates classes, whilst creating a light-hearted, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. She explains the purpose of each exercise and which muscle groups will be involved, gives very clear and simple instructions and demonstrations and always offers several levels of difficulty to cater for all ages, abilities and stages of development. In addition to offering alternative exercises to accommodate medical conditions, injuries or difficulties she also constantly moves amongst her pupils offering individual guidance, correction and support in a quiet and subtle manner so that nobody need feel self-conscious. I have attended her pilates classes for two years and always feel better for them. My posture, core strength and body awareness are improved and having suffered back ache for well over thirty years I have finally learned from her classes how to use my core muscles in daily life to combat the problem!
Emma’s class provides a gentle framework in which to safely develop/maintain a well-balanced body. She never forgets any health problems that you may have and is constantly alert to solve any potential struggles or difficulties. I have found Emma to be a highly-trained true professional. She simply loves to help her students achieve their personal goals…and is a lot of fun, too. Learning is easy. This is my 6th year in Emma’s classes. (HRM).
I started Emma's class last March and feel it has really helped me. As I was beginning to lose a little of the strength in my upper arms. And can now say they have really improved. She is so helpful to everybody in the class and there is such a lovely atmosphere every time you go. Always willing to help people that have problems and adjusting the program for them. I have been attending classes for about a year now and have found Emma to be a good encouraging instructor as I had not done this before. She is thorough in her instructions and explains every exercise as to the level which each person can work to and will put you right if you haven't quite the technique. I feel I have benefitted from this with my posture and core strength. She has an easy manner and lovely personality which makes it an enjoyable class.
I have attended fitness classes of many different types with Emma over the last six years. During that time she has maintained a very high level, of professionalism, knowledge of muscle groups, teaching and interpersonal skills. The needs of clients are always addressed from the initial session and at the beginning of every session attended, Emma offers individual advice, always demonstrates the exercises and ensures awareness of the different levels of difficulty, encouraging everyone to challenge themselves but stop at pain. Sessions are well planned, varied and I would not hesitate in recommending her classes to anyone regardless of age or ability who wants to keep fit and mobile whilst having good fun.
I enjoy the class, controlled movements work for me. Emma explains what to expect from each exercise, walks round and has time for each client making sure they are doing it correctly and not damaging themselves. Doing it correctly makes it harder, no pain no gain. I certainly feel the benefit from the pilates class. It is nice to meet people there also. If you have a weakness emma will adapt the exercise for you. She encourages rather than nags. Pilates keeps me mobile.
I've been going to Emma's pilates classes for several years now, and have definitely reaped the benefits. Whilst the class is delivered in a light-hearted manner, Emma always explains thoroughly the aim of the exercise, and mentions muscle names that I didn't know excisted! Her knowledge is invaluable and she is always consious that people get the best out of her classes, as well as enjoying it. I'd recommend Pilates to anyone-especially Emma's classes. Keep up the good work!
Emma is a very professional, enthusiastic instructor, who spends time ensuring each individual is getting the most out of the classes. The classes are great value for money; I would recommend the class to anyone - Emma adapts the class to beginners, through to people who have done Pilates for years.
I have been doing these classes now for a year, and can really feel the benefit. Emma took note of my health limitations, and will always give an alternative exercise where needed. She is attentive to how the class performs the exercises, and corrects posture where necessary. Emma's demonstrations are clear, and the entire class is delivered with good humour. I find them enjoyable as well as beneficial. Classes start on time and we are given the full hour. I have recommended Emma's classes to friends who are equally as pleased as I am.
Having been involved in high impact exercise for years, I was sceptical about Pilates. Emma is a fantastic instructor who makes every class fun and challenging. She offers positive feedback and great teaching points and alternatives. Each class is different and I have noticed a real improvement in my core, back and hamstrings. I would recommend this class to everyone.
