I was very disappointed with this instructor. My daughter had 20 hours worth of lessons and learnt very little in that time. Judy was always late and my daughter never had her full 2 hours that were paid for. Lessons were cancelled on her regularly too. In 20 hours my daughter only went on the road a couple of times and the rest of the time she was taken out to the forest where most of the time Judy would drive there ( in my daughters time ). She didn't practice one manoeuvre either. My daughter had a driving lesson just before her theory test and she didn't even wish her luck. The new instructor we have has said that he would never have thought she had 20 hours lessons and thought she was a new driver. I had to teach my own child not to cross her hands on the steering wheel as Judy didn't. I thought maybe this was acceptable these days as it has been a few years since I passed my test but her new instructor said I was right in teaching her this.Moreexpand_more
Response : I have read your review with some dismay & as a result have taken time to look back on my diaries & text messages on my phone & will endeavour to address the points made. Your a new instructor has said that he would never have thought that your daughter had had 20 hours of tuition before. Well I can confirm that indeed she certainly never had 20 hours with me, she in fact had a maximum of 4 to 5 hours, over a total of 3 lessons at intervals of 16 days and 28 days respectively. On checking my records I have established that these are the sessions that she had with me:Saturday 2nd January 2016 – 11am - Initial ‘controls’ lesson also taking in clutch control, gear changes, use of mirrors, simple left turns, this took place on the roads around the Nursling Industrial estate, close to your house.
CANCELLED - Monday 11th January 11.30-1.30pm she cancelled this lesson the day before via text stating that she had an exam.Monday 18th January 11.30-1.30pm picked up from Totton & had a lesson in the New Forest, this lesson was abandoned due to her knee injury hurting too much for her to continue, I drove her back to College and only charged her for the actual time that she had been driving.CANCELLED - Monday 25th January – 11.30am-1.30pm she cancelled this lesson via text on Saturday 23rd as she had a manicure assessment on the Monday.Monday 15th February – 4.00-6.00pm I may have been delayed, as I came over from Woolston, if the lesson was short I would not charged full fee.CANCELLED - Monday 22nd February 11.30-1.30pm – she cancelled due to an exam on that day. After this I had no alternative but to fill the Monday slot. I did offer other times but she was unavailable at a mutually convenient time, due to her hectic part time job & college work & my busy diary.Moreexpand_more
