Ceri Turner founded Holistyx in 2008 after a year full time training to gain VCTC Level 3 Diplomas in Holistic Therapies (Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy, and Reflexology), Indian Head Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, and Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards. Ongoing professional development since then has included the addition of Stone Therapy, and specialism in Pregnancy and Post-Natal Massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.
Holistyx clients are about 75% female and 25% male. Clients range in age from 13 (with parental consent) to 80 and include people from many walks of life and backgrounds including students, labourers, office workers, self-employed business people, stay at home mums, and other therapists. Two common types of client are older, retired people who have realised the benefits of regular time out to look after their bodies and their general health and wellbeing, and stressed academics and other staff from our local universities.
Having put in place a high standard of infection control in response to the Covid pandemic, Holistyx continues to provide protections to avoid transmission of illnesses including Flu, RSV, Norovirus, Covid and colds.
This includes including ventilation, HEPA air filtration (Over 6 air changes per hour), hygiene, client screening, masking, and testing by request - which means even those who are clinically vulnerable or extremely clinically vulnerable or who have family who are, can know they are safe to relax. This is also valued by those coming for support with Long Covid.
All in an accessible, relaxing and comfortable environment.
Free parking is available adjacent to the building.
