Carla Love possesses a Postgraduate Diploma in Acupuncture and is currently completing her MSc. She has trained for 3 years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture). She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and is fully insured and licensed. BAcC is the largest professional body for acupuncture in the UK. Carla has worked in the complementary health business for many years and is qualified in a range of holistic therapies, such as massage and reflexology.
These may also be incorporated or offered as a treatment in order to benefit the overall outcome.
Acupuncture can be used to treat a vast range of health conditions. NICE has recommended acupuncture for back pain, osteoarthritis of the knee, headaches, neck pain/ache and dental pain. It has also been shown to benefit fertility, anxiety and stress, musical-skeletal problems, migraines, nausea, vomiting, overactive bladder syndrome and temporomandibular pain. ON top of this, it can be used as an a adjunct treatment for so many other conditions, including gastrointestinal disorders, IBS, asthma, depression, menopausal and gynaecological symptoms, fibromyalgia, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome, insomnia and smoking cessation.
During a treatment there a number of techniques that can be utilised. These include needling, cupping, massage, moxibustion, auricular acupuncture and electro-acupuncture. It is also possible to offer nutritional and lifestyle advice to help with presenting conditions.
Carla also offers reflexology as either a stand alone treatment or as a part of the overall treatment package. Reflexology balances the body's energies through reflexes in the feet. It is non-invasive. The feet mirror the body and there are reflexes that correspond to every organ in the body.
