About Greg Pitt Sea Fishing

Greg Pitt Sea Fishing provides 5 and 6 hour private charter sea fishing trips from April to December but not during the mackerel season from mid July to the end of August when the shorter 2 and 3 hour trips run each day instead. 3 hour private charter Mackerel/Sightseeing trips run during the school summer holidays and 2 hour private charter sightseeing boat trips viewing the famous Needles rocks and lighthouse and Alum bay coloured sands area can be booked for any day that's not already booked on fishing trips from April to November.
Operating from Keyhaven in Hampshire on board "Osprey II" skippered by Greg Pitt and fishing the waters around the famous Needles lighthouse at the western end of the Isle of Wight.
A family business for over 60 years specialising in inshore private charter fishing and boat trips at a reasonable price for smaller groups of up to 5 or 6 people maximum, workmates or friends and family groups etc as well as more serious anglers are all welcome.

Please visit their main website for full details of all fishing trips.

Rods tackle and bait (if needed) are included in the price of the charter.

"Osprey II" (a 33' Lochin) is fully licensed and insured for 8 passengers + 2 crew although the numbers are limited to a maximum of 6 people on the 5 and 6 hour fishing charters to give people more room to move around on board the boat, this also reduces line tangles while fishing making for a more enjoyable trip for everyone.

25/08/17 The perfect 3 hour mackerel fishing trip. A warm day with blue skies and light wind. Everyone caught some fish and also enjoyed a lovely trip around the Needles.

Another great day out with Greg on Saturday. 4 large cod, plus conger, rays, whiting, pouting and the odd dogfish all in 5 hours. Tremendous fun. Thanks again Greg.

We've used Ray's boat for fishing day trips for a few years now and found the trips to be cracking value. I've introduced a number of non-fishermen to the delights of a day on the solent using the fabulous value 5hr trips. Fishing is not always brilliant - but can't blame Ray for that! Ray is proper old-school chap, very interesting to talk to and happy to show new comers the ropes.

Dear Greg. Thanks for a lovely morning fishing, we all really enjoyed ourselves and even caught some fish too! Your customer service is fantastic and we were really impressed with the standard of your boat and gear. Anybody planning a sea fishing trip should have you at the top of their list, I cannot recommend you highly enough! Thanks again Roger W.

My three boys, their grandfather and I spent a perfect day out with Ray on a 6 hour trip south of the IOW. The fishing was slow at the beginning but ended with a number of excellent catches including Black Bream, a 12lb Ray, a 30lb (ish) Conger Eel and the surprise of the day, a Lobster! Third year running and will be back for a winter trip chasing Cod and a summer trip next year.

We hired one of the boats skippered by Greg on sunday 1 st June and had a brilliant day catching tope, loads of bream , mackerel and pouting. Greg was very patient with the two 8 year olds we had on board and was full of knowledge and advise. A great day enjoyed by all-and the wether was terrific. We will be doing it again soon. Have enjoyed the bream already. Thank you greg.

We have just been out on a 3hr trip with Greg as our skipper. We had a brilliant day and we caught enough to save me from buying mackrel for a couple of months so we saved money and had a great day, win win in my book. Thanks again for a great day we will be back soon. Clive.

Went out with Greg early May. Despite the season being slow due to cold weather we had a great trip. Greg was very supportive to the whole group most of whom not regular fishermen. We hired the tackle which was first rate. The trip was excellent value for money. We will be back and I would recommend you give them a call.

I have been fishing with Greg and Ray for about 15 years and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their knowledge of the fishing grounds around the Needles is exceptional, they keep their boats clean and very well maintained, they have the most efficient kettles on any charter boats I've ever been on and all at a very affordable price for a day on the water. Its a pleasure to go fishing with them.

Been going with Gregg Pitt for years. If you want a days local fishing round the Solent, Needles or Chrischurch bay I would recomend them. They are ideal for general bottom species fishing and as well as competent fisherman they are ideally set up for novices and family groups and friends. As a bonus they are also very reasonably priced.

Have fished with them for last 15 years and always had excellent professional service. Good clean boats and skippers that know their fishing. Whether you are a novice or seasoned angler these skippers are always there to assist. Would recommend 100%.

I have fished with Ray and Greg Pitt for over twenty years, always good well maintained boats with all the right electronic equipment, operated with professionalism that I have yet to see on other charter boats. They know some very good fishing marks around Keyhaven and the Needles area. John House.
