Avoid at All Costs. Absolutely awful experience. My sister, who has 20 years of driving experience in a busy city, took lessons here to familiarize herself with UK roads. Despite her competence, her instructor, Raja, was unprofessional and outright dismissive. After 11 hours of lessons, instead of providing constructive guidance, he bullied her and claimed she didn’t know how to drive—clearly an attempt to push for more lessons rather than genuinely help her progress. This approach is unacceptable and exploitative. This driving school does not seem focused on training or building confidence in its students. If you’re looking for an instructor who supports and encourages your driving skills, avoid Elliotts School of Motoring. Save your time, money, and self-respect by finding a more professional and ethical driving school.

My instructor was Utah, he was absolutely fantastic he was more than happy to do late lessons to fit around my job. I hated driving when I first started but he made me fall in love with it and enjoy it, he was very friendly and made the whole experience of driving amazing. I passed first time with only 1 minor thanks to Utah and I can’t thank him enough for all his help and support while iv been learning. If you want to pass first time I’d get on the phone to Utah Thanks so much to Utah for his time and effort to helping me pass first time.

I am actually genuinely surprised at all the positive reviews about Utah. Initially, he was a very nice and fun guy, however, it was on my 7th lesson that he showed his true colours. A colleague of mine had had him before and winced when I had told him he was now my instructor. I should have ran then. He would put me down, ask questions and be silent when I gave answers right or wrong. Would text constantly, make me drive to the homes of other clients and would make them drop me back at my own residence. He was very very rude. One example, I was told to turn into the next street when he slammed the brakes on me and told me I was doing it all wrong repeatedly asking me 'what did I just say? !'. I was so nervous and angry, I started to talk back at him and decided to remain silent as I did not want to say anything offensive and wanted to get home as soon as possible. On that day he also said from the moment I sat in the car it seemed as though I was determined to hit the pavement. I don't know who in their right mind would say that. That was lesson 7. Telling myself I had 3 more lessons left and convincing myself that maybe if I listened more I wouldn't be so bad, I went to lesson 8. He went in to pay for petrol and bought himself some snacks, taking his time and wasting more of my time. There was a line building up behind me so I moved the car forward to not cause any conflict. He then came back talking about how disrespectful I was to move the car and spent the entire hour talking about how he was fuming an how that was the height of disrespect. I can be very impulsive and felt like stopping the car right then and jumping the hell out. Don't waste your money. Believe the negative reviews. I am strong willed and If I had listened to any of his nonsense I probably would have never driven again. I am not one to write reviews at all but the fact that I spent 10 minutes to do this shows I mean it. However, this experience will help me appreciate a better instructor. Don't deal with this unprofessional and incompetent company with Utah, unfortunately, as the owner.Moreexpand_more

The company allocated me with a driver who was not properly qualified as he failed his teahcing test. This left me without a car a 3 days before my exam. He also failed to contact me, leaving me waiting for 30 minites. Very poor cusomter service and a very low standard of teaching.

Utah an automatic driving instructor in Elliots Driving School is very bad and rubbish. He is not fit to be an instructor. No punctuality, no friendly to students. Bad attitude. Money minded. I have spend £ 400 with no value for it. Please do not waste your money opting this person as an Instructor if you want to learn driving in UK.

Very unprofessional stay away. Constantly on the phone texting and chatting and eating his lunch. Not concentrating on your driving. Discusses your business infront of other learner drivers. Knocked my confidence by saying what I should do then when I later did it said that he didn't tell me that. Always turned up late often 25 minutes or more and didn't call or apologise for being late. Wants to know all your personal business. I did not learn anything in my lessons and wasted my money. He would get you to drive to the next learner drivers home then you get in the back of the car and they drive you home. Then discusses your personal business in front of the other learner driver. Please do not waste your money. He Utah the owner is more interested in your money.Moreexpand_more

This driving school is a joke he is on his phone all the time he pulled my hand off the steering wheel, hardly ever looked at the road or at my driving to see what I was doing slapped my arm to get my attention was very rude me and my brother had lessons and my brother is hard of hearing and asked him to repeat thing and he looked in disgust and spoke lower. I only had 2 lessons and he wasn't concentrating on what we was doing too interested in his phone or going to sleep. He doesn't give any instructions just says drive independently confidence was knocked.

Utah/Alex really shudn be a driving instructor and the other one Rob is same:impatient, rude, late, uses up your time on his phone talking, aggressive, offensive and all the other conplaints from the reviews here describe Alex, as for Rob hes rude when you cant do what he hasn't taught you n impatient and deliberately drives you round teaching you nothing or takes you to areas where work is being done, wastes your time and calls it a day. Truly there must be a way of dealing with such instructors who are just in it to make money unfairly off students… Avoid Avoid Avoid the company as a whole especially Utah/Alex. I asked him are you like this with all your students he said no obviously from the reviews iv read of him on this site, google and the others most people havent got anything good to say about him. Theyr are a waste of time and money. AVOID!

Alex was 20 minutes late but counted the time I paid for by the time we set so he gave me a 40 minutes lesson instead of an hour. He looks like he's just woken up and got his clothes from a skip. He's very badly spoken and doesn't seem to grasp the concept of basic manners; asking personal and irrelevant questions, being late, nicknaming you, he didn't introduce himself and generally being rude and loud. Steer clear of this colourful character! (Pardon the pun).

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH FIONA! Fiona you couldn't have worded it any better and your experience is identical to mine. 3 years ago I got utah as an instructor. Now the first lesson he was very polite and in general he was a nice guy he'd always have good conversation and you could talk about various things. But he could sometimes be so rude and impolite. If I could answer a question he would wait (once up to 10 mins) for me to answer, this would often be silence! He would often make me finish at his next student's house and make them drive me back and the same with me having to drive his students back. Once I had in the car another student, Utah, and a trainee instructor. He would ALWAYS be on the phone texting or calling. If you have him after 5pm, all office calls are routed to his phone as he's the owner. Once he disturbed a lesson to go to his house for personal belongings, once to get some cake from a shop and once to fill up on petrol. And once to get stuff from another shop. Whilst doing a manoeuvre such as a parallel park, he'd have his eyes closed and id struggle to try and complete it, when I did it i'd have to wait a couple of mins for him to stop relaxing, wake up and hear him say Do it again. Once when I finished at his next students' she had to drive me home, and she made a few mistakes- obviously a nervous beginner thrown into stop start rush hour traffic, he shouted at her several times and patronised her- turning to me and shaking his head in disbelief. Fortunately for me he was so lazy and uncaring that he didn't pursue me for lessons like other instructors have done, when I stopped I never heard from him again. He made me a very nervous driver and knocked my confidence unbelievably. I can't believe some of the good reviews I've heard on here about Utah, don't do it, I promise once you've paid for a block of 10 lessons you will regret it as thats when his true colours will be revealed. If you have heard of other instructors within elliotts who are excellent then if going with elliotts try and ask for them.Moreexpand_more

I booked for my first lesson with Elliott's and the morning of my lesson they called and cancelled. I was never given an instructor name or number, it was all done by Email and I found it very unprofessional. However we rearranged again later in the week and after waiting 30mins for anyone to turn up I decided I couldn't be bothered with a company that doesn't seem to have time for me.
