M1 MacBook Pro 16” 2021 logic board failure, FIXED by eFix! It wouldn’t power on or do anything, it was a brick. I took it to Apple who informed me it was a logic board failure and there was nothing that could be done, my data was gone, and the cost to replace the logic board with a new one (as if a new machine as data is linked to the logic board) was £830, half the cost of a new similar spec machine (M4 MacBook Air 15” 2025). I found another company (DriveSavers) that might be able to recover the data, but they wanted to charge me between £1,155 and £2,400 to recover the data and also said there was no possibility of repairing the machine. Out of hope, and much searching, I found Reece from eFix at MacBook-Repairs who said they were confident in being able to to FIX the logic board, something Apple and DriveSavers both said was impossible (as did many bloggers on the internet), and for only a fraction of the price! Reece delivered, and I am typing this on my MacBook Pro with it’s FIXED logic board, ALL data intact, I paid for an express service and was delighted to get my machine back within one week, FIXED for a very reasonable total of £320. Shame on Apple for just trying to sell me a new device. I was informed by eFix that this was a random failure, nothing I did to cause this (no liquid damage, etc). It is a pattern fault on these, but it is a problem which can affect any electronic device, old or new. They’ve even seen this happen on some of the late 2024 Mac models, which are at time of writing is less than 6 months old.Moreexpand_more
I’d like to say a huge thank you to E Fix for repairing my broken laptop screen. Extremely efficient service, speedy from start to finish and amazing communication. They constantly kept in contact throughout the process so I knew what was going on, they gave me diagnostics and explained any issues found with my laptop clearly. Couldn’t recommend enough.
Cannot recommend this company enough. I water damaged my Mac (idiot) and was quoted around £800 to repair it by a certified Apple refurbisher. My Mac is a 2020 model so it just wasn't worth it, I spotted eFix online and put my faith in them. From the start Reece was so communicative, emailing at every step to keep me updated on the status of my repair. Just had it returned today and it looks better than it did previously! And of course is all fixed, for a much more reasonable price than I was quoted by Apple. Thank you so much for the amazing work you've done, can't thank you enough.
I recently used this company to fix my MacBook screen. I called to speak to someone about the issue I was experiencing first and the guy I spoke to was very polite and helpful. Made me feel immediately at ease about sending my MacBook off to him to fix. I experienced a really great and efficient service with great communication throughout the whole process. I would 100% recommend!
Exceptional service from start to finish! I had several email and phone conversations prior to booking my Macbook in for a replacement display. They quoted me half the price that I was quoted by Apple and John Lewis! Free, insured postage to deliver my item to them and Free return via DPD. EFix kept me up to date at all times and turned my repair around promptly. Nothing not to like and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. A special mention has to go to Reece, who provided an outstanding customer experience. Very rare in this day and age.
I’m not usually the type to write reviews, but my experience with efix was to be applauded that I felt it was worth sharing. I needed a keyboard repair for my MacBook Pro, so I shipped it efix—even though I was a little nervous about mailing my laptop. Luckily, Recce (the technician working on my case) immediately put my mind at ease. He stayed in touch throughout the whole process, explaining what the progress was and what the solution. What really impressed me was how patient Recce was when I initially gave the wrong information about the issue. He figured out the real cause of the problem without making me feel embarrassed about my mistake, and he kept me posted with regular updates so I never felt out of the loop. When my MacBook finally arrived back home, the keyboard was perfect. If you’re on the fence about sending your laptop away for repairs, I can honestly say efix (and especially Recce) made the whole process quick, smooth, and totally stress-free. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, customer-focused repair service. They are a small company and offering a service that is better than some much larger companies I have trusted in the past and been let down!Moreexpand_more
These guys are just fantastic and I highly recommend their service. I'm an old lady and not very techie at all, but I keep trying to get the hang of it all! The colours on my MacAir didn't seem right at all so thought I may have done something to upset it, or it might even be something serious. Then I remembered I had used Macbook=repairs years ago, so decided to use them. I forgot how efficient they are - kept up to date, everything explained in detail, and given the option to go ahead or cancel! My MacBook is now working like new, in fact even better than when I sent it to them. Worth every penny, thank you e-Fix.
From start to finish Reece was exceptional, in this day and age when people are out their trying to make a quick buck and poor workmanship you have people like Reece and companies like MacBook Repairs (efix) don't waste your time with Apple, they had my laptop for over 7 days and quoted me £500 + vat, Efix 48 hrs and £208+vat and that's with delivery back to me. Definitely recommend I'm a customer for life.
I had 2 Macbooks repaired over a year ago with eFix Ltd. One specifically was a Macbook Pro 2015 model which had lcd cable, logic board and charging port repairs carried out and was advised specifically to buy a genuine Apple Charger at the time which I did. Once received after the repairs, the macbook was functional for a bit (less than a week, I already had an M1 at the time so this was now a backup) on the small percentage of battery left until I got a genuine charger. However after getting a genuine apple charger the Macbook refused to charge or turn on and already having an M1 it wasn't my biggest concern to chase it up or look into it further. However now after taking it to another local genuine Apple Repair, they had told me the motherboard needed a replacement which is odd considering this should've been something that was picked up initially. I can't fault the communication throughout, the team were very friendly and fair in their turnaround time and service and I'm sure if I had chased up initially they would've happily fixed the issue, however a bit disappointed that I was unable to use this machine directly after getting it repaired and now a year later I'm only able to use it, with it being fully functional (after a full charge) after taking it to another repair centre.
I was nervous. Sending a £1600 macbook pro through the post, I was nervous. Even though it wasn’t working, however, fears were not warranted. Excellent service, communications, persistance, patience, and returning the laptop in a working condition, even with internal damage, done by another company (1 of two, including OEM - I cant prove which one). Thanks E-fix / Macbook-Repairs, you were really great and really earned your dosh and a positive review! Would not hesitate to recommend or reuse!
Having a damaged screen on my MacBook Air M3, 13 inch screen bought 3 months earlier online from Apple site, I took it back to a couple of Apple Stores in London. They both opened it and declared that it was entirely my fault and that they would charge me approx £800 to replace the screen, as although it was well within warranty I had not taken out Apple Care. I objected and told them that the display was poorly designed and not fit for use as it was too fragile. I searched the net for alternative solutions, and eventually found eFix, and called them: £350, 10 days delivery including shipping. Despite favourable reviews, I was reluctant to ship off my £1500 machine to persons unknown, pay £350, and maybe never see it again. I decided that, although they sounds fine on the phone, I would drive it from London to Peterborough, which would hasten the return and let me see their premises. Nothing much to see; unit in industrial estate, but the person at the desk gave me confidence, so I filled in my details and left it with crossed fingers. It was delivered to my local post office a couple of days after I gave them my debit card details. Perfect job, on time. I am a happy bunny!.
