About Ed Arnold - A Scottish Bagpiper For Hire
I have been playing the bagpipes for over 20 years. I took up the instrument as a child after becoming inspired by a piper who performed at a hotel in Aberfeldy whilst I was on a family holiday. My mother (from Aberdeenshire) was particularly keen for me to learn because nobody on the Scottish side of the family played.
To date I have performed and competed with pipe bands. I have performed at 1000's of weddings, parties, funerals, corporate events, Burns Suppers, Hogmanays, Christenings, and even been seen on TV playing at weddings featured on the ITV shows 'The Dales' and 'The Lakes'. I teach the bagpipes to junior soldiers at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate as part of their Duke of Edinburgh courses and I also teach at home privately.
I am available to hire for any event and my vast experience means I can offer good advice on performance options. I have several tartans including Royal Stuart, Brown, Mackenzie, Hamilton Gray and American Universal. I can perform in traditional formal attire (Shirt, tie, Argyl jacket, Glengarry hat, etc) or full No. 1 Highland Dress (feather bonnet, doublet, shoulder plaid, horsehair sporran, spats, etc).
My website and Facebook pages are full of testimonials from people delighted with my services.
Although I'm based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire I am happy to travel to all surroundings counties including Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, etc.
