Drive with Dan

By far the best of my 3 driving instructors! Driving did not come naturally to me and I was very nervous, despite having lessons with 2 other instructors. Dan took the time to understand what I had already covered, helped me undo bad habits and identified areas in my driving that needed the most work. He recognised how best I learned and when I didn't understand things he provided different perspectives/techniques, always finding something that worked for me - a gifted shrink! He offered the perfect balance between helping me challenge myself but also offering support/coaching when needed. Dan let me decide what I wanted to work on each lesson. He was honest with me when things needed work but was able to communicate this in a relaxed, humorous and non-condescending manner. He is very easy to get along with and laughs at his own jokes so that you don't have to (… Haha), Definitely an entertainer as well as a driving instructor! Dan always maximised actual driving time and did not waste time chatting (…That was probably my job :)) His rates were the most reasonable I found in Southampton. He was very flexible with his schedule and helped me work my lessons around my job. Thanks to Dan, I passed my test with only 2 minors - I give all credit to him. I will be forever grateful that Dan has helped me accomplish a life-long skill and I will very much miss my driving lessons with him. I was very nervous on my first lesson but straight away Dan made me feel comfortable and from then on I looked forward to my lessons. I would 100% recommend and I was so happy that I passed first time. Thank you so much Dan :).

I found Dan to be a very patient and supportive instructor who encouraged me constantly throughout my lessons. His laidback approach put me at ease from the beginning, which helped me overcome my initial nerves and made communication with him easy. His effective approach to teaching allowed me to build confidence in my myself and my ability to go to test. With his help, I passed first time. I would absolutely recommend Dan as a driving instructor and I very much enjoyed being taught by him.

Dan is a brilliant driving instructor especially for first time drivers who are lacking in confidence. He is very chatty which helps take the pressure off and helps makes the driving fun. He really does show that he believes in you.

10/10 brilliant instructor, I really enjoyed my lesson with Dan. He is great at teaching and explaining things. He never puts pressure on you to do anything, he is very laid back and makes the lessons fun.

Dan is a great teacher and a mind reader! So experienced that he can recognise mistakes before you make them and will talk you through it so you know how to avoid it. The way he talks through manoeuvres and difficult roads before tackling them really helps with preparation! Dan’s calm composure is what I needed when learning to drive. I feel safe and at ease both driving with him and now that I’ve passed thanks to his lessons - highly recommend :).

Learning with Dan was a fun experience, very relaxed and chilled. There was never any pressure to do a certain manoeuvre, he’ll sit back until your ready to move on. He’s very knowledgeable, patient, professional individual. I would highly recommend his services to anyone starting out 100%.

I thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with Dan. I was a very nervous driver and wasn’t confident at all! Dan gave me the confidence that I could do it and was very supportive when doing both my theory and practical. I will miss our lessons I’m not sure he will ? .

Dan was amazing! He is an excellent instructor, patient, knowledgeable, professional and last but not least friendly. I was desperately trying to find someone to train me for my practical test and Fortunately I found him. Today I passed my test and I am a much better and safer driver now thanks to him. 1000% recommended!

Driving with Dan helped me pass first time. I was very comfortable during every lesson and felt at ease with Dan. He is friendly and approachable with excellent knowledge in what he does. Couldn’t of done it without him.

Dan has been helping me since September 2020. I had 3 previous instructors - all gave me something, but Dan was the most helpful, flexible and genuinely friendly and caring for my success. Learning process wasn’t easy due to Covid, long lockdowns and huge gaps between lessons. I failed the first test in Dan’s Ford Fiesta and then didn’t drive till late April 2021, but eventually Dan has beaten my extreme uneasiness, severe lack of confidence and negative thinking whilst helping me in my own car. Always positive, always in good mood, always cheerful and confident, Dan never ever shouted at me. He adapted his schedule and was ready to help at very short notice when necessary, sometimes even on Sunday mornings or late Saturdays. He helped me a lot with my Mazda, gave many technical advices and did extra mile (and even gave a discount due to my need to spend money on petrol). Most importantly, Dan is a very good psychologist, he feels people and adapts his own approach and words in order to help you to eliminate driving mistakes and obtain confidence. He likes when you can drive independently and when you’re relaxed and think positively, but at the same time he never hustles you or ridicules for being slow on uptake or repeating same mistakes. Dan is an excellent teacher and is very calming for inexperienced or nervous drivers I throughly enjoyed my time learning with him.

Dan is very patient for nervous learners. I just passed the exam in my first time test.

Dan is extremely helpful and an amazing instructor. Before I started learning with Dan I never drove before but on my first lesson I felt super comfortable and over the course of my learning he always took the time to discuss what I was doing right and wrong in a technical way which really helped me to learn and understand my mistakes. I recently passed my practical test first time so I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough.

When I first started lessons with Dan I was a very anxious driver and had no confidence that I would ever be able to drive independently. He is VERY patient and was able to work with me in a friendly, constructive way to help me achieve my goals and work on areas of driving I found daunting. He was very good at managing my panics and made me feel at ease. He's very reliable, always on time and flexible to my availability. I would definitely reccomend Dan.

Dan makes learning driving fun and you feel really at ease when learning how to drive, which is especially important if you are someone not local. He not only teaches you how to pass the test but to learn how to drive drive. Knowledgeable, Friendly and Patient, definitely recommended and the only one you should really ask for.

Brilliant way of teaching and incredibly friendly. Dan never made me feel silly if I did something wrong or I didn’t know the right answer to a question. I learned how to drive as well as having fun whilst doing so.

Learned from scratch with Dan, lessons were well-structured and fun from day one. He is very patient and knows his stuff. Had only two minor faults and failed first test for driving too slow after missing a national speed limit sign. This had a huge impact on my confidence and Dan helped me getting through it to an easy pass in the second test. Would definitely recommend him. Three friends had lessons with Dan after struggling with other driving instructors, all agree Dan's the best instructor they got in contact with.

Dan's the guy to go to if you want to pass your driving test and more importantly, if you want to learn to drive well and drive safe. He's super patient, adapts his ways of instructing to the learner's needs and abilities and has a great sense of humour which I think helps a great deal to keep calm when you're out there being a learner on the mean roads. :D He helped me get past my nervousness (which was at awfully high levels) and built my confidence to drive. I just passed my driving test, and that was even in bad weather conditions, when it was pouring down. And all credits go to Dan.
