This was an amazing service. I phoned to explain that our MacBook had completely died (after accidental damage) and that we needed data recovered as quickly as possible to meet deadlines. Following a recent house move I came across some of my father's old "zip" discs (like a floppy disk but thicker and need a special reader) these were at least 15 years old and some of them were encrypted to boot. Dominic was absolutely brilliant in retrieving as much of these as he could (sadly some of the data was corrupted and irretrievable). He kept me informed on a regular basis about his progress and I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonableness of his quote given that the work must have taken several hours to complete. Would definitely recommend if you have information on old tech you can't access.

Cambridge Data Recovery were able to extract data from a damaged Amstrad floppy disk that must have been more than 30 years old. Given the hours spent on it the cost was minimal. Old fashioned service combined with 21st Century technological expertise… I could not recommend them more highly.

Dominic answers all lay man queries, keeps you in the loop at every step and achieves the unimaginable. I sent a canon camera memory card which has failed to read by a computer. Luckily Dominic and his team were able to pull through the images after opening the memory card. All images were saved and put on a USB and sent to me. Expensive procedure no doubt but the images were far dearer. Worth the price and hassle! Thanks.

Literally can't fault the service. Efficient, exceptionally polite, cut straight to the point and delivered value for money. My Samsung S7 seemingly wiped it's micro SD card rendering it unrecognisable to both the phone and laptop. Dominic was able to recover prescious pictures and memories from the card with reassuring confidence. One of my team reported a corrupted external HDD. This occurred because a third party had hastily unplugged the drive while the laptop was still accessing data. The drive contained important commercial data and valuable personal photos and other documents so the team member was quite distressed that it had failed. I left the drive with the office reception and shortly afterwards I received a quote that I felt was reasonable. CDR quickly responded to tell me that they would be able to retrieve the file system and gave a more accurate quote, which at first I thought was quite expensive, but on reflection worth it. I received the complete set of files back on a USB flash stick, together with the faulty HDD. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend CDR as a trustworthy, capable and reliable service for data recovery and I am grateful that they were able to retrieve the data.

After my external HDD died unexpectedly containing all my photos and videos going back many years I found CDR on google. After dropping the drive off to them Dominic gave me regular updates via email and within a week I was able to collect my new drive with all my photos and videos recovered. Cambridge Data Recovery responded faster and with more technical insight than the other two companies I approached. Dominic talked me through the process of drive cloning and possible outcomes/risks. He also gave me an 'expected time to fix' of 36 hours. In reality it was 24. The service was excellent value and saved me from the horrendous task of reinstalling several expensive programmes in addition to the files I had backed up. I recommend this service!

A friend of mine recommended me CDR after a mechanical failure of almost a prehistoric external hard drive (now that I think of it, no wonder it failed. ). Considering that it was the drive where I kept all my photos since the era of digital cameras in late 1990s, I was devastated. Dominic informed me that the chances to recover the data were 50-50, with extensive explanations and answering to all my questions and concerns in this respect. And they pulled it off! :) It cost a fortune (but no more than normal market price, actually even slightly less) but it worked!
