I have done both my class 2 and class 1 training and test with gypsy-dave and he's definitely one of the best trainers around! He is hard on you as a student but he is showing you how to drive a hgv the RIGHT WAY and he wants you as a student to pass! He will give you a nagging to keep you on track, to keep you listening to him but its for the right reasons! He's oldschool and if ya cant take a bit of tough love on the chin now n again when you are driving like a bit of a nonce or ya must be a bit soft! I'll be back to british hgv to do my PSV/coach training and if possible it'll be with THE MAN gypsy dave I passed my class 2 in 2013 and class 1 in 2015 - personally I cant recommend british HGV enough mick Lorraine donna gypsy dave, rockin dave wayne & the rest of the crew! They are a top bunch of midlunders! :P I drove from Coventry to Cannock to train with them after training with a place in birmigham (south) yeah it cost me a bit more in fuel etc etc but I chose british hgv out of 3 training companies I was recommended & they were the right choice, hopefully i'll get back up to them for my PSV/COACH training later on in 2015 late summer I hope!
I took my Class 1 test with British Hgv, and passed first time, however I was more overjoyed with the fact of not going back under the instructions of Dave. I have never been so stressed out with a bad tempered person in my life. On one of my training days he shouted at me for not blowing my horn at schoolchildren, and on another occasion he took the keys out of the ignition because I wasn't reversing properly. The list is endless. Thank God that I never have to go back.
I passed my test today (6th Dec 2012 @ 11. 30am) all thanks to British HGV. Their professional attitude, Top Notch training and Micks generosity have now carried me into a new start, new career. I hope anyone in the Midlands looking to obtain either PCV, HGV/LGV qualifications. Go to British HGV first. There are a lot of dodgy people out there, happy to take your hard earned cash, and slowly drag you through your course. Mick and his team will get you through in the best, cost effective way. 110% honesty and a fully professional team.
If you're serious about learning to drive LGV/HGV or PCV, you need not go any where else other than to British HGV. I had training with a school in Birmingham which turned out to be a waste of time. I have since started with British HGV and it made a seriously refreshing change. New vehicles, calm and polite training staff and Mick and Lorraine were like a long lost brother and sister. All in all making the whole experience fun and worthwhile. I promise you, you'll be looking forward to your next visit.
Matty Tweed. Dear British HGV, I would like to thank Mick, Lorraine and especially Dave for teaching me how to drive a truck. I thought I could drive until I met Dave. His expert tutoring gave me a very good pass rate and couldn\'t have achieved it without him. A top notch instructor like Dave will only be apart of a brilliant training school and British HGV reflects that. I chose BHGV because quite frankly, their immaculate, and classy livery took my notice as I drove past once and that made me go to them. I would/will most certainly recommend British HGV to anyone interested. I\'ll be using BHGV in a years time to get my artic licence. Thank you very much guys. And gals you\'ve made me extremely happy. Mr M Tweed.
