About Bristol Bowen Therapy
Based in Bristol, Louise uses the Bowen Technique, also known as Bowen Therapy to treat a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal problems, including back pain, neck and shoulder restrictions, sports injuries, knee and ankle sprains, sciatica, as well as other problems including respiratory conditions, digestion problems, emotional and stress related conditions and allergies.
The Bowen Technique, or Bowen Therapy, is a 'hands on' therapy which uses soft tissue manipulation in the form of gentle, rolling-type moves, to help 're-balance' tension in the muscles, tendons and ligaments. This, in turn, is believed to activate the body's own healing channels, relieving pain, and revitalising energy stores.
As a truly holistic, and deeply relaxing, therapy, Bowen Therapy is safe to use on all people of all ages, from babies and infants right through to the elderly. Clients typically range from sports enthusiasts, office/desk-based workers, those with physically demanding jobs and the retired, now use it as a very effective form of regular physical health maintenance, and stress management.
The Bowen Technique is based on the extraordinary work of Australian therapist, Tom Bowen, and has been used across the world to provide rapid, and lasting, relief from many chronic and acute physical and stress related conditions.
Louise first discovered the Bowen Technique in 2006, following treatment for long standing back and shoulder problems. Amazed by the results, she began training as a Bowen Technique Practitioner in 2008 with the European College of Bowen Studies and qualified in 2010. She attends regular Practitioner Development courses, (details of which can be found on the 'About Louise' page of the Bristol Bowen Therapy website) encompassing a number of interpretations of Tom Bowen's work - all of which she incorporates into her treatments.
Louise offers treatments at The Practice Rooms in Bristol - mostly in Westbury on Trym, North Street in Southville, and Queen Square - all of which offer beautiful and relaxing therapy rooms in a tranquil environment for clients. Treatments are also available at her home clinic in Bishopston where this is more convenient.
