Lee has many rare qualities, both on a professional and personal level. She has gently guided me a journey of discovery using charcoal, crayons and the hundreds of paints I inherited from my father. Her patience, professionalism and warm encouragement, have been highly rewarding and completely satisfying. Her own art no doubt reflects her own graciousness and beauty.

I commissioned a painting from Lee last year and was delighted with the result. I wanted a view of the Thames from Richmond Hill. This is a subject Lee has painted many times but not with the rich autumnal colours I was after. Lee was very happy to discuss my ideas and make suggestions about what would work best, bearing in mind where I wanted to hang the painting. While Lee was working on the painting, I got to visit her studio a couple of times to view the work in progress. At every stage, she was keen to make sure I was happy with how it was developing. I found the whole process interesting and enjoyable. The finished painting is outstanding. It looks deceptively simple from a distance but closer up there is a wealth of detail in the brush strokes that is a real joy. In summary, I can't recommend Lee highly enough. She is great to work with and produces fantastic results. The price was also very reasonable, considering the amount of time and skill that went into the work.Moreexpand_more

I really disliked Art at school and never thought anymore about it until last year when I was looking for a new hobby and thought I'd have a go at painting. I decided to use oils. However having never had any proper lessons I felt I needed help with my technique. I met Lee when she joined Kingston Chamber of Commerce last year. Great timing - so the Gods must have been looking down on me. I had my first lesson with Lee recently; she taught me how to really look at objects in front of me (still life drawing) and how to get tone into my pictures using charcoal - not a medium I would have dreamt of using. It really opened my eyes. She is a great teacher, makes learning fun and I left her class raring to get back to my studio to have a go. Now I'm planning to have more lessons with Lee on a one-to-one basis to learn about painting with oils. I really recommend you book a class with Lee to make the most of your abilities. Lee produced to amazing pieces of art. The first picture was a lovely portrait of our friends grandchildren. She captured the likeness extremely well and The Bubble painting she did for my salon was a magnificent piece. And people are always popping to admire this work. Thank you.

I booked an Art Class for my Mum's birthday, we went to the studio on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The setting is amazing, Eel Pie Island is a wonderful environment to be creative and escape from it all. Lee had everything ready for us to start including all the equipment we needed, pens, pencils, rubbers and charcoal. After a few warm up exercises we got stuck into the still life and had a wonderful two hours learning how to create an academic and intelligent piece of work looking at textures, tones and perspective. I highly reccommend Art Active and have booked again for a class in July, Mum will be coming too.
