My husband and I have not been away for around 8 years due to not wanting to put our pups in kennels. We have a Staffie girl Tanty age 10 and Buster Lhasa Apso age 12. They only need 3 walks a day around the block. They do not go on long walks now as they are older and end up with injuries.
They sleep most of the day when I am home. They are no bother. All they want is love, comfort, 3 small walks and someone to be there. We only leave them for 4 hours at a time. We take them out just before we go out so we know they are comfortable and settled. Tanty does not like other dogs. We just avoid them by crossing the road. They are both really good on the lead.
We would like to go away for one week in June. And if the dogs are happy we are looking at starting to go away 3 times a year.
