Chris recently undertook measures to rectify a long-term damp issue we had where our chimney breast was removed by others previously. The residual chemicals on the remaining wall left from the burning of coal etc produced salts which attracted moisture to the wall when the room was humid (during rain, but also during cooking etc). We were given Chris' details through a friend who had work done previously by Chris, and we weren't disappointed. Whilst not able to take our call immediately, Chris replied promptly and arranged a scoping visit in short order. The works were very reasonably priced, and subsequently programmed in. On the day Chris arrived promptly, used drop cloths and other protection for our floors, benches etc, and then went above and beyond completing the works; including adjusting the extents to encapsulate a small adjacent area of unsightly plasterwork to ensure the finish was perfect. His advice on potential issues was spot on, so that when things didn't go exactly to plan, it wasn't a surprise, and an alternate method was already agreed as 'plan B'. Chris was respectful of the property, cleaned up as well as possible each day, and left the place at the end of the job in a tidy state as promised. I contacted three plasterers in my local area to have damp proofing completed in my sitting room and downstairs bedroom. I would have said that unfortunately the only to reply was Chris, however, I am so please I did not hear from the others. Damp from an old chimney had damaged plasterwork on parts of walls in 2 bedrooms. The old plaster needed stripping and new plaster putting on without having to damage the rest of the walls. Chris did an excellent job. He worked neatly and tidily (very hard to do with plastering! ) and was no trouble at all to have in the house. The walls look just as we wanted and the rooms were both left clean and tidy. I believe the marks of a professional tradesman are that he turns up when he says he will; does what he says he would; works safely; and tidies up when finished. Chris ticks all these boxes. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Wow - what a guy. Had done some amazing damp and plastering work for us previously. Rang him out of the blue having discovered soaking wet walls during kitchen removal. Came out the next day to quote and squeezed us in the following morning to remedy the situation so that kitchen installation could continue! What a life saver!
