Angelika's German Tuition and Translation

Angelika's tuition got us started with German before a move to Germany. We are still very much beginners but we have a grasp of the basics and can understand a lot more than when we started! We can now decode sentences and see which word is the subject, or verb, etc. We appreciate that Angelika took the time to tailor the lessons to our needs and queries.

I've always struggled with the articles in the German language. Having bought Angelika udemy course I've since developed a much better understanding of them…Although I'm very much a beginner I find this ladies courses very explanatory and extremely helpful. Personally I'd advise anyone learning German to looksh at her particular method of syllabus delivery as it's excellent from a linguist developmental perspective.

Our daughter and her friend have just gained an A and A* respectively in their German i-GCSE exam. They couldn’t include the subject in their options at school so we approached Angelika to guide them through the syllabus, starting just after Easter in the girls’ year 9. After her initial assessment Angelika advised that it should be possible to prepare the girls to sit the exams at the end of year 10. After 14 months of focused teaching and support from Angelika they have gained these results and we are delighted. Most of the teaching was through skype and email with just 2 or 3 face-to-face sessions with homework being set weekly. Angelika was able to arrange the exam through the school and the school were happy to support the girls with this. We had found Angelika online and after reading previous reviews we chose to go with her and are so pleased we did. Thank you Angelika!

Angelika taught our daughter German GCSE via Skype in just one year - resulting in an A* grade. Angelika was reliable and conscientious with an encouraging, no-nonsense approach, and I would happily recommend her to other parents.

My daughter achieved an excellent A* in her German GCSE at the age of 14 thanks to private tuition from Angelika! Kiera grew up speaking english and german but had no further knowledge of the german language. Her Secondary School did not offer German as a subject. Angelika's teaching was focused and effective, providing excellent preparation for Controlled Assessments and GCSE exams. Angelika managed the correspondence with the school for the official assessments and exams and was very flexible booking lessons around our busy lifestyles. Would certainly recommend Angelika for parents/students in similar situations!

I took evening classes with Angelika for two years, hoping to improve upon my rather basic GCSE German. I found Angelika’s classes to be excellent; she is an engaging, knowledgeable and patient (! ) teacher, who is able to bring lessons to life with a raft of entertaining exercises. Her style certainly differs from my memories of learning by the book at school, which can only be a good thing. I am confident that I have outstripped my previous level of understanding and am anxious to try my enhanced German skills for real. Angelika took on a challenging translation of 2 legal documents from the Swiss court system - supposedly written in High German. Despite the use of some uniquely Swiss-German phrases, Angelika delivered the documents on time and to the price estimated. We are very pleased and we would unreservedly endorse the quality of her work as would our Swiss lawyer!

I attended a night class run by Angelika to learn German for 2 years. Angelika was very patient and focused on the use of everyday aspects of the language Now I am retired I travel extensively throughout Europe with a caravan. Last year we "did" Germany. A fantastic experience made better by my use of German (Although the locals were very tolerant I am sure) which I was able to functionally use to great effect when our SAT Nav had a bad day, ordering food and drink and visiting local sites and museums.

I can't recommend Angelika's translation services highly enough. Don't go anywhere else, really - don't! Angelika responded to all my emails in excellent time, and I believe she went above and beyond what her services advertised. She was calm, flexible, clear and concise at all times, and I felt at ease and reassured throughout the experience, which was very important to me as it was essential the work be accurate, and I was very nervous about doing things correctly. #30daygerman was a challenge! Angelika sent well written, concise e-mails daily for the month of June. Each e-mail linked to a video, gave new vocabulary and and explanation. The purpose was to learn German for a holiday which so far for me, is unplanned. However, I have German friends and have enjoyed trying out my new linguistic abilities and with a little more confidence I hope to be able to understand more as well. Angelika's course is a real investment and offers beginners a quick overview of essential German words and grammar. Thoroughly recommend.

Despite my German Mother trying her best to make sure I could communicate well in both English and German, spending most of my time in the UK meant that the German slipped a bit. Angelika has single-handedly prepared my daughter for her AS level exams, as her school couldn't fit it in to the timetable. In just 2 hours a week over the last academic year, my daughter achieved a B (scoring 159 points out of a possible 160). Angelika has been methodical and resourceful, and always willing to fit in with my daughter's needs - and she made the lessons a pleasure. We think she is an excellent teacher, and would highly recommend her to prospective students.

Angelika has done a couple of good quality translations from German into English for me and I can highly recommend her work, the turnaround and the end cost were very, very good!

We cannot recommend Angelika highly enough. Ollie' s lessons with her were comprehensive and structured in order to help him develop his confidence in German and also to reinforce all aspects of the language which ultimately resulted in Ollie achieving a grade A in his GCSE. Angelika is a fabulous person, Ollie enjoyed his lessons with her which was important from a parents perspective. We just wanted Ollie to fulfil his potential and to stop worrying.
