My welcome to Woodside could not have been warmer and the Gothic Suite was simply gorgeous! Amanda, Daron, Angel and Jade were perfect hosts. Amanda's cooking is to die for (not literally, of course! ) and the weather was nice enough that I could have my meals on the sunny patio, watching the sheep in the paddock and the very acrobatic squirrels in the trees. In a word - perfect! I will definitely be going back.

Me and my wife spent two nights in the Gothic suite in June. So glad I found this place had a wonderful stay. The hosts couldn't do enough for us, but are more than happy to leave you to your own devices if required. The house is simply stunning with the Gothic suite jaw dropping. The breakfast is great with a lot of variety. We plan on returning later in the year. Thanks Amanda for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay, lovely people and surroundings, the hot tub was wonderful after a hard day fighting the Normans, and we can certainly recommend the Eggs Benedict! Ian and Kaja Davies.

A very warm, welcoming house. All the rooms were spacious and decorated beautifully. Extremly friendly, helpful owners. The attention to detail was amazing! Breakfast was also great, huge choice of food and drinks. Our 2 1/2 yr old daughter was kept thouroughly entertained in the games room which was a very nice touch. Truly felt like a home away home! :) Will happily return!

I have stayed in many hotels and this was, by far, the best I've come across. It is a home from home with first class added extras. Nothing was too much trouble. The owners went out of their way to accommodate a picky vegetarian and a 16-month-old baby. The food was homemade, and organic produce was used where possible. Suffice to say, it was delicious - and not at all expensive. I can thoroughly recommend their fruit smoothies! We stayed in the Gothic suite, a penthouse room, which extended the length of the hotel and featured a 7ft waterbed. A real indulgence! And to top it all, the cinema room compete with Wii was fantastic; a great place to relax after a long day's sightseeing. Perfect!Moreexpand_more

You can not ask for more. The hosts are exceptional. The setting even more so. If you ever wanted to won a piece of countryside and not worry about the rest, it is covered. If you get up early enough, you can spot the hares and foxes emerging from the forest, and you can do this sipping coffee from the bedroom window. I visited recently with my family (two kids aged 12 and 8). We all had a ball ! I will be back !

I have stayed in a few B&Bs around the UK but nothing compares to the warm welcome and beautiful aurroundings at Woodside in Staplecross. The food is wonderful - the most amazing breakfast waits for you in the morning. Amanda is a superbt chef and host I would not hesitate in recommending Woodside if you are looking for the perfect break in the countryside. How may B&Bs offer hot tubs, saunas, a personal masseuse and a 9ft cinema screen? It is simply wonderful!
