I joined the women's boxing run by Colin back in November, I straight away became hooked by the way he trains you and the atmosphere. I now have PT sessions as well as training X3 times week at his classes why to learn the correct technique and also increase my fitness and aid my weightloss. The sessions are fun and Colin always takes on board what I want from the PT session. I'm 5% away from my goal body fat. Im a mum to two children 3 and under, been able to keep up with them was important to me the above with a healthy diet has ensured that.
At WBN everyone is made to feel welcome and encouraged to push themselves to do their best, regardless of their size, age or fitness level but within their own personal limits. Colin is a great coach who motivates and encourages everyone at every level. Who knew exercise could be fun?
From the very beginning of WBN I joined with low fitness low confidence and no boxing skills. 2 years on and doing the class two times a week am showing no signs of ever stopping. Colin encourages you to go that extra mile push yourself harder but in a way that really makes you want to do it for yourself and when you think you can't go on give 10% more. The classes work you hard every session and the boxing training where you learn proper boxing skills make you want it to be perfect. These training sessions are where I have accomplished the most and seen such a change in my body and fitness. Once you start there is no going back and that's down to Colin. Great training if you really want to change yourself for the better and continue it.
WBN is THE most friendly and enjoyable place to improve your fitness. I went because the curious me wanted to try out boxing, from there I've participated in workshops and run sessions that have taken place through the group. Coming from a running/tri background, my base fitness has been kept at a steady level from these sessions and with the strength exercise's Colin adds into the sessions my running times have improved massively. Would recommend to anyone.
As our coach at women's boxing Northampton I couldn't recommend Colin more! He is approachable, patient and friendly. Colin has a great balance between not forcing you to do anything you can't but still pushing you to break through your barriers. Thanks to Colin's fun and challenging classes and coaching my attitude towards exercise has completely changed, along with my fitness levels and confidence. I would absolutely recommend him!
I would recommend the PT session with Colin to anyone who is looking for a great workout, guided and motivated by a great guy who has a genuine love for boxing. I met Colin after a forced 6 months stop from any phisical activities due to surgery and from the word go he kept me motivated and focused and I after few weeks I was fit again and lost weight at the same time. Colin's 121 sessions are great value for money too. Try it, you won't regret it.
Real Personal Trainer is a quality PT service that encourages clients to reach their full potential and work on their specific goals under expert tuition. Colin is friendly, approachable and enthusiastic, not to mention very knowledgeable. Since training with Colin my fitness has increased dramatically, I have lost weight, and my boxing skills have improved massively. Colin has, and continues to, go above and beyond to assist me in achieving my goals and I cant recommend him and his Real Personal Trainer sessions highly enough.
I went to Colin for help as I needed to lose weight. He was very understanding and knowledgeable from the start. He pushed me enough to get results but not too much to put me off! He is very patient, kind and motivating and has a very positive attitude.
Colin has been helping me to improve my boxing technique and we have weekly training sessions at Far Cotton Boxing Gym. Over the last six to eight weeks, my fitness has sky rocketed. We did six two-minute rounds today and it felt amazing. Colin shares my passion for perfection and is always fine tuning my boxing, but gives me loads of encouragement even when I'm rubbish! The sessions are always full of laughter and I feel completely energised.
This personal trainer could not do more for you! Having hit my mid forties and enjoyed the comfort of good eating for many years, when the harrowing thought sunk in that I had booked a holiday abroad with a large group of friends I was in despair. Overweight, unfit and feeling totally embarrassed by my figure, I decided drastic action was needed. Now only a month into my pt sessions, my fitness has improved, my shape has changed and I'm feeling comfortable about being seen in a bikini. Not only have I been educated on exercise, my knowledge of the bodies needs and intake is extensive. My diet has been completely changed which has enabled me to change my families eating habits too. The exercise is not to strenuous for my ailments and consists of a wide variety to maximise the potential of the sessions. This trainer also listens to you and what you want to achieve from as much or as little as you want to do. I started training with Colin once a week around a year ago after a long period away from any real exercise through injury. Colin eased me back in with challenging but realistic workouts and we've gone from strength to strength. I've taken 6 minutes off of my usual 2 mile run since we started and have just competed in my first boxing contest (a win). Can't say enough about both his fitness training and boxing coaching and would recommend Colin to anyone looking to get in shape or box.
If you need a conscience this is your man. Colin is not just for the hour session, but all day! He encourages and motivates you by giving a full explanation as to why you should or shouldn't be doing something and uses his personal experience to highlight these thoughts. If you are having a bad day his constant reassuring pep talks help keep you on track, he may as well physically take the food out of your mouth and be stood next to you in the gym (even when he isnt)! I find his sessions interesting, varied and informative, not to mention challenging. I had never tried Boxing of any sort before and was a little nervous/sceptical, however Colin is patient,giving clear instructions that are easy to follow. He is realistic in approach to goal setting and encouraging all the way that you will achieve them! Well worth every penny and I look forward to each session.
I have been attending boxing sessions with Colin since September 2012. Colin has been able to assess my needs and bring on my development, challenging me to improve my fitness and boxing technique. He explains the exercises undertaken clearly and also gives you a scientific understanding of how your body will benefit from these training exercises. I met Colin through Far cotton boxing club ,he has been training my son on a one to one basis for just a year now and I cant speak highly enough of him his attitude and approach to boxing is very professional, he has given my son so much more confidence in his attitude towards all the other sports he does,I will always highly recommend Colin to anyone out there espically on a one to one basis thanks Colin.
Colin is an excellent personal trainer & I would defo recomend him for both boxing & weight loss, as so far to date in 6 weeks his encouragement has lost me 1 stone anyone trying to loose weight or just simply tone up make that call & good luck, warm reguards megan.
I worked on strength and conditioning with colin in the build up to my 3rd round knock out victory over bulgarian olympic contender Salim Salimov and my Sky Sports debut on Prizefighter. In terms of results I was getting better and feeling stronger each week, I've worked with some of the UK's top strength and conditioning coaches and can confidently say colin has a vast knowledge of the body and methods of training and also offers diet/nutrition advise. He is a very honest man and if there was something he wasn't sure about he would say so rather than try to pull wool over your eyes. To conclude he offers great value for money and I couldn't ask to work with a nicer bloke.
I have been boxing training with Colin for the last couple of months. I am finding the training both rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable. Having never boxed before I was unsure what to expect but Colin has done a first class job improving both my overall fitness and teaching me the sweet science!
The Real Personal trainer programme run by Colin is very good value for money, it is cheaper than most personal training sessions and it isn't just fitness which you learn and achieve, Colin also has a good knowledge of boxing technique of which he efficiently and effectively teaches. I am very pleased with my boxing and circuit sessions of which i have attended and will keep on attending them. 10/10!
I have been going along to Colins one on one boxing sessions for a few weeks now and can honestly say that i have enjoyed every minute of it. Although a bit self conscious at first,Colin soon puts you at ease and sets a pace that is right for your individual needs. I started colins sessions with the intention of losing weight,getting fitter and learning boxing as a means of self defence,colin not only manages to address these issues but he manages to do it in a way that makes it enjoyable. As a result in a matter of just a few weeks i already feel fitter,have more energy and feel better about myself,you cant put a price on that. Aready looking forward to my next session.
