Witton Chemical Company has a 60 year history of providing bespoke chemicals for a wide range of industrial applications. The company specialises in the scaling up of chemical processes from laboratory to large production batches.

Witton's expertise is in polymer manufacturing, exothermic reactions, fine chemical manufacturing and blending and drying chemicals.

The company is based in Mildenhall not far from Cambridge and manufactures chemicals for UK companies and exports worldwide.

Plant and Equipment - Equipped to carry out exothermic processes, handle corrosive, flammable and viscous materials and also to isolate and dry solids.
- Reactors in 316 stainless steel, range of capacities from 50 to 18,000 litres.
- Drying equipment for 1 kilo batches to 400+ tonnes.

Polymers and pre-polymers.
- Witton Chemical is expert in manufacturing processes based on free radical polymerisation using most common azo and peroxide initiators.
- Diisocyanates including MDI and IPDI are used to manufacture polyurethane pre-polymers, from a few kilos to thousands of tonnes.

Fine Chemicals

Most classes of organic compounds can be synthesised. With equipment to make, isolate and dry solids and can handle and use moisture sensitive materials, flammable solvents, aqueous systems, viscous liquids and undertake formulation and blending.

Manufacturing

Adaptable plant and with a wide range of vessels, production can continue well beyond development and scale up through to full commercial manufacture, providing an efficient and effective resource for all customers, whatever the order size and complexity is.
